1 Simon, the high priest, son of Onias: in his life, he propped up the house, and in his days, he strengthened the temple.	1 Simon e figlio di Onia, gran sacerdote, durante la sua vita riparò la casa, e nei suoi giorni restaurò il tempio.
2 Even the height of the temple was established by him: the double building and the high walls of the temple.	2 Fu pure lui che diede fondamenti all'altezza del tempio, col doppio muro e le alte muraglie del tempio.
3 In his days, waters flowed out from the wells, and these were full beyond measure, like the sea.	3 Ai suoi giorni scaturirono i serbatoi delle acque e furon ripieni oltremodo come mare.
4 He cared for his nation, and he freed it from perdition.	4 Egli ebbe cura del suo popolo e lo liberò dalla rovina.

19 Then all the people at once hurried forward, and they fell to the ground on their faces, to adore the Lord their God, and to offer prayers to Almighty God Most High.	19 Allora tutto il popolo insieme con rapida mossa, si gettava colla faccia per terra ad adorare il Signore suo Dio, ad offrir le sue preghiere all'onnipotente eccelso Dio.
20 And the singers of Psalms raised their voices, and a full sweet sound increased in the great house.	20 E quelli che salmeggiavano alzavano le loro voci, e nella gran casa cresceva il concento pieno di soavità;
21 And the people petitioned the Most High Lord in prayer, even until the honor of the Lord was completed, and they finished offering their gifts.	21 e il popolo pregava il Signore Altissimo finché non fosse terminato il culto del Signore e compiuto il sacro ministero.
22 Then, descending, he extended his hands over the entire congregation of the sons of Israel, to give glory to God from his lips, and to glory in his name.	22 Allora (Simone) scendendo dall'altare, alzava le sue mani sopra tutta l'adunanza d'Israele e dava gloria a Dio coi suoi labbri, e si gloriava nel nome di lui,
23 And he repeated his prayer, wanting to reveal the virtue of God.	23 e rinnovava la sua orazione, volendo mostrare la potenza di Dio.
24 And now, pray to the God of all, who has accomplished great things over all the earth, who has increased our days from our mother’s womb, and who has acted toward us in accord with his mercy.	24 Or dunque pregate il Dio dell'universo, il quale ha fatto grandi cose in tutta la terra, ha moltiplicati i nostri giorni dal seno della nostra madre, e ci ha trattati secondo la sua misericordia,
25 May he give us joyfulness in heart, and may there be peace in our days, in Israel for unending days,	25 affinehè ci dia la gioia del cuore, e faccia regnare in Israele la pace ai nostri giorni e per sempre,

30 Blessed is he who lives by these good things. Whoever places these things in his heart will be ever wise.	30 Beato colui che medita queste ottime cose, chi le conserva nel suo cuore sarà sempre sapiente.
31 For if he does these things, he will prevail in all things. For the light of God is upon his footsteps.	31 Se le metterà in pratica trionferà di tutto, perchè la luce di Dio è la sua guida.
