1 A dry morsel with gladness is better than a house full of sacrifices along with conflict.	1 - Meglio un tozzo di pan secco in buona allegria, che una casa piena d'imbandigioni con discordia.
2 A wise servant shall rule over foolish sons, and he will divide the inheritance among brothers.	2 Il servo saggio dominerà sui figli stoltie dividerà l'eredità con i fratelli.
3 Just as silver is tested by fire, and gold is tested in the furnace, so also does the Lord test hearts.	3 Come l'argento si prova al fuoco e l'oro al fornello, così il Signore prova i cuori.
4 The evil obey an unjust tongue. And the false are submissive to lying lips.	4 Il malvagio ubbidisce alla lingua iniqua, e l'impostore dà retta alle labbra bugiarde.
5 Whoever despises the poor rebukes his Maker. And whoever rejoices in the ruin of another will not go unpunished.	5 Chi disprezza il povero, oltraggia il suo fattore, e chi gode della rovina altrui, non andrà impunito.
6 Sons of sons are the crown of old age. And the glory of sons is their fathers.	6 Corona dei vecchi, i figli dei figli, e gloria dei figli, i loro padri.
7 Well-chosen words are not fitting for the foolish, nor are lying lips fitting for a leader.	7 Non s'addice all'ignorante un linguaggio ricercato, nè al principe, un labbro mendace.

10 A correction benefits more with a wise man, than a hundred stripes with a fool.	10 Più giova una correzione al prudente, che cento legnate allo stolto.
11 The evil one continually seeks conflicts. But a cruel Angel shall be sent against him.	11 Il malvagio cerca sempre sedizioni, ma un angelo crudele gli sarà inviato contro.
12 It is more expedient to meet a bear robbed of her young, than the foolish trusting in his own folly.	12 Meglio imbattersi in un'orsa derubata de' suoi nati, che nello stolto abbandonato alla sua stoltezza.
13 Whoever repays evil for good, evil shall not withdraw from his house.	13 Chi rende male per bene, non vedrà mai la sventura uscire di casa sua.

15 Those who justify the impious, and those who condemn the just, both are abominable with God.	15 Chi assolve l'empio e chi condanna il giustosono entrambi in abominio a Dio.
16 What does it profit the foolish to have riches, when he is not able to buy wisdom? Whoever makes his house high seeks ruin. And whoever shuns learning shall fall into evils.	16 Che giova allo stolto aver ricchezze, se non può comperare la saggezza? Chi innalza la propria casa cerca rovina, e chi ricusa d'imparare cadrà nel male.
17 Whoever is a friend loves at all times. And a brother is proved by distress.	17 Chi è amico, ama sempre: e il fratello si esperimenta nelle avversità.
18 A foolish man will clap his hands, when he makes a pledge for his friend.	18 Lo stolto si frega le mani, quando entra mallevadore per l'amico.
19 Whoever dwells on discord loves disputes. And whoever exalts his door seeks ruin.	19 Chi medita discordie, ama le risse, e chi alza la porta, cerca rovina.
20 Whoever is of a perverse heart shall not find good. And whoever turns his tongue shall fall into evil.	20 Chi è di cuor perverso, non troverà bene e chi ha lingua raggiratrice cadrà nei guai.
21 A foolish one is born into his own disgrace. But his father will not rejoice in one who is senseless.	21 Nato è lo stolto a sua confusione, e neanche il padre si rallegrerà dello scemo.
22 A joyful soul makes a lifetime flourish. A gloomy spirit dries out the bones.	22 L'animo allegro fa buon sangue e lo spirito triste secca le ossa.
23 The impious receives gifts from the bosom, so that he may pervert the paths of judgment.	23 L'empio riceve doni di sotto mano, per sovvertire le vie della giustizia.
24 Prudence shines from the face of the wise. The eyes of the foolish are on the ends of the earth.	24 Sul volto del prudente riluce la sapienza; gli occhi degli stolti errano all'estremità della terra.
25 A foolish son is the anger of the father and the grief of the mother who conceived him.	25 Figlio stolto cruccio del padre, e dolore della madre che lo generò.
26 It is not good to inflict damage on the just, nor to strike the leader who judges uprightly.	26 Non è bene danneggiare il giusto, nè colpire un principe che rettamente giudica.
27 Whoever moderates his words is learned and prudent. And a man of learning has a precious spirit.	27 Chi modera i suoi discorsi è saggio ed accorto, e l'uomo che sa è di spirito riserbato.
28 If he would remain silent, even the foolish would be considered wise, and if he closes his lips, intelligent.	28 Anche lo stolto se tacerà sarà creduto saggio, e intelligente, se chiuderà le labbra.
