1 Unto the end. A Canticle Psalm of David himself.	1 (Per la fine. Salmo del cantico di David.)
2 May God rise up, and may his enemies be scattered, and may those who hate him flee from before his face.	2 Sorga Dio, sian dispersi i suoi nemici, e quelli che l'odiano friggano dal suo cospetto.
3 Just as smoke vanishes, so may they vanish. Just as wax flows away before the face of fire, so may sinners pass away before the face of God.	3 Svaniscano come svanisce il fumo: come si strugge la cera al fuoco, così periscano gli empi alla presenza di Dio.
4 And so, let the just feast, and let them exult in the sight of God and be delighted in gladness.	4 E i giusti banchettino, esultino alla presenza di Dio, e godano nella gioia.
5 Sing to God, sing a psalm to his name. Make a path for him, who ascends over the west. The Lord is his name. Exult in his sight; they will be stirred up before his face,	5 Cantate a Dio, salmeggiate al suo nome, preparate la strada a colui che ascende verso il tramonto: il suo nome è « il Signore ». Esultate alla sua presenza. Tremeranno dinanzi a lui.
6 the father of orphans and the judge of widows. God is in his holy place.	6 Egli è il padre degli orfani e il vindice delle vedove. Dio è nella sua santa dimora.
7 It is God who makes men dwell in a house under one custom. He leads out those who are strongly bound, and similarly, those who exasperate, who dwell in sepulchers.	7 E' Dio che fa abitare in una casa persone di egual carattere, che colla sua potenza libera i prigionieri, ed anche i ribelli, che abitano nei sepolcri.
8 O God, when you departed in the sight of your people, when you passed through the desert,	8 O Dio, quando andavi innanzi al tuo popolo, quando passavi pel deserto,
9 the earth was moved, for the heavens rained down before the face of the God of Sinai, before the face of the God of Israel.	9 La terra tremò, i cieli si liquefecero davanti al Dio del Sinai, davanti al Dio d'Israele.
10 You will set aside for your inheritance, O God, a willing rain. And though it was weak, truly, you have made it perfect.	10 Generosa pioggia facesti cadere, o Dio, alla tua eredità: spossata, la ristorasti.
11 Your animals will dwell in it. O God, in your sweetness, you have provided for the poor.	11 In essa si riposò il tuo gregge: nella tua bontà, o Dio, provvedesti al povero.
12 The Lord will give the word to evangelizers, along with great virtue.	12 Il Signore darà la parola a coloro che annunziano la buona novella con grande forza.
13 The King of virtue is beloved among the beloved. And the beauty of the house will divide spoils.	13 Il re potenti sono in potere del prediletto; alla bellezza della casa sta dividere le spoglie.
14 If you take your rest in the midst of the clergy, you will be like a dove whose wings are covered with fine silver and edged with pale gold.	14 Se voi riposate in mezzo all'eredità, sarete come ali argentee di colomba che ha all'estremità del dorso il pallore dell'oro.
15 When heaven discerns kings to be over her, they will be whitened with the snows of Zalmon.	15 Quando il re del cielo disperde i re della terra, diverranno bianchi come la neve del Selmon.
16 The mountain of God is a fat mountain, a dense mountain, a thick mountain.	16 Il monte di Dio è monte pingue, monte dalle molte cime, monte pingue.
17 So then, why are you distrustful of dense mountains? The mountain on which God is well pleased to dwell, even there, the Lord will dwell until the end.	17 Perchè state a guardare i monti dalle molte cime? Quello è il monte su cui piacque a Dio di abitare, e certamente il Signore vi abiterà per sempre.
18 The chariot of God is ten thousand fold: thousands rejoice. The Lord is with them in Sinai, in the holy place.	18 Il cocchio di Dio è numeroso di miriadi; son migliaia di esultanti: il Signore è in mezzo ad essi, nel Sinai, nel suo santuario.
19 You have ascended on high; you have taken captivity captive. You have accepted gifts among men. For even those who do not believe dwell with the Lord God.	19 Tu ascendi in alto, prendendo teco i prigionieri, hai ricevuto doni fra gli uomini. E non credevano che abitasse fra, noi il Signore Dio!
20 Blessed is the Lord, day after day. The God of our salvation will make our journey prosper for us.	20 Sia benedetto il Signore ogni giorno, il Dio delle nostre vittorie rende prospero il nostro viaggio.
21 Our God is the God who will bring about our salvation, and our Lord is the Lord who has brought an end to death.	21 Il Dio nostro è il Dio che salva: è in potere del Signore, del Signore, il liberar dalla morte.

25 O God, they have seen your arrival, the arrival of my God, of my king who is in a holy place.	25 Han veduto il tuo corteo, o Dio, il corteo del mio Dio, del mio re, che è nel santuario.
26 The leaders went ahead, united with the singers of psalms, in the midst of girls playing on timbrels.	26 Andavano avanti i princi­pi uniti ai cantori, in mezzo a fanciulle che battevano i timpani.
27 In the churches, bless the Lord God from the fountains of Israel.	27 STelle vostre adunanze benedite Dio il Signore, o discendenti d'Israele.
28 In that place, Benjamin is a youth in ecstasy of mind. The leaders of Judah are their governors: the leaders of Zebulun, the leaders of Naphtali.	28 Là il piccolo Beniamino nell'estasi dell'anima, i principi di Giuda, loro duci, i principi di Zàbulon, i principi di Nettali.
29 Command by your virtue, O God. Confirm in this place, O God, what you have wrought in us.	29 Comanda, o Dio, alla tua potenza, conferma quello che hai in noi operato
30 Before your temple in Jerusalem, kings will offer gifts to you.	30 Dal tuo tempio in Gerusalemme. I re ti offriranno doni.
31 Rebuke the wild beasts of the reeds, a congregation of bulls with the cows of the people, for they seek to exclude those who have been tested like silver.
