Psalms 114

1 Alleluia. I have loved: therefore, the Lord will heed the voice of my prayer.	1 QUANDO Israele uscì di Egitto, E la casa di Giacobbe d’infra il popolo barbaro;
2 For he has inclined his ear to me. And in my days, I will call upon him.	2 Giuda fu consacrato al Signore, Israele divenne suo dominio.
3 The sorrows of death have surrounded me, and the perils of Hell have found me. I have found tribulation and sorrow.	3 Il mare lo vide, e fuggì; Il Giordano si rivolse a ritroso.
4 And so, I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, free my soul.	4 I monti saltarono come montoni, I colli come agnelli.
5 Merciful is the Lord, and just. And our God is compassionate.	5 Che avesti, o mare, che tu fuggisti? E tu, Giordano, che ti rivolgesti a ritroso?
6 The Lord is the keeper of little ones. I was humbled, and he freed me.	6 E voi, monti, che saltaste come montoni; E voi, colli, come agnelli?
7 Turn again, my soul, to your rest. For the Lord has done good to you.	7 Trema, o terra, per la presenza del Signore; Per la presenza dell’Iddio di Giacobbe;
8 For he has rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from slipping.	8 Il quale mutò la roccia in guazzo d’acqua, Il macigno in fonte d’acqua
9 I will please the Lord in the land of the living.
