Job 19

1 But Job answered by saying:	1 Rispose Iob, e disse:
2 How long will you afflict my soul and wear me down with words?	2 Perchè tormentate voi ancora l'anima mia, e attritate me colle parole?
3 So, ten times you confound me and are not ashamed to oppress me.	3 E certo dieci volte confondete me, e opprimendomi non vi vergognate.
4 Now, of course, if I have been ignorant, my ignorance will be with me.	4 E certo, se io non seppi, meco sarà la mia ignoranza.
5 But you have risen up against me, and you accuse me to my disgrace.	5 Ma voi contro a me vi dirizzate, e riprendete me colli miei vituperii.
6 At least now you should understand that God has not afflicted me with a balanced judgment, though he has encompassed me with his scourges.	6 Ma ora almeno m' intendete, perciò che Iddio non con uguale giudicio hae tormentato me, e colli suoi flagelli ha cinto me.
7 Behold, I will cry out, enduring violence, and no one will hear. I will announce loudly, but there is no one who may judge.	7 Ecco io chiameroe, sostenente forza, e niuno udirae; griderò, e non è chi giudichi.
8 He has hemmed in my path, and I cannot pass; he has added darkness to my difficult path.	8 La mia via intorniò di siepe, e passare non posso, e nel mio sentiero pose le tenebre.
9 He has plundered me of my glory, and he has stolen the crown from my head.	9 Spogliommi della mia gloria, e tolse la corona del mio capo.
10 He has destroyed me on every side, and I am lost, and, like an uprooted tree, he has taken away my hope.	10 Distrusse me da ogni parte, e perisco; sì come è stravolto l'albero, così tolse la mia speranza.
11 His fury has raged against me, and in this way he has treated me like his enemy.	11 Adirato è contro a me lo suo furore, e così hae avuto me quasi come suo nemico.
12 His troops have gathered together, and they have made their way to me, and they have besieged my tabernacle all around.	12 Insieme vennero li suoi ladri, e fecero la via a loro per me, e assediarono intorno lo mio tabernacolo.
13 He has put my brothers far from me, and my friends have withdrawn from me like strangers.	13 Li miei fratelli fecero dalla lunga da me; e li amici miei, sì come alieni, si partirono da me.
14 My kinsmen have forsaken me, and those who knew me, have forgotten me.	14 Abbandonarono me li miei più prossimani; e coloro che mi conoscevano hannomi dimenticato.
15 The inhabitants of my house and my maidservants treat me just as if I were a stranger, and I have been like an sojourner in their eyes.	15 Li servi della casa, e le ancille mie, sì come uno altro uomo mi tengono; e sì come peregrino sono negli occhii loro.
16 I called my servant, and he did not respond; I pleaded with him with my own mouth.	16 Lo mio servo chiamai, e non mi rispose; con la mia bocca propria lo pregava.
17 My wife has shuddered at my breath, and I have begged the sons of my loins.	17 L'alito mio impaurio la mia moglie, e pregava li figliuoli del mio ventre.
18 Even the foolish have looked down on me, and, when I withdrew from them, they spoke ill of me.	18 In verità gli sciocchi dispregiavano me; e quando da loro mi era partito, m' ingiuriavano.
19 Those who were sometime my counselors, treat me like an abomination; and he whom I valued the most has turned against me.	19 Quelli che furono miei consiglieri hanno abbominato me; e colui che massimamente io amava, fatto è contro a me.
20 Since my flesh has been consumed, my bone adheres to my skin, and only my lips have been left around my teeth.	20 E alla mia pelle, consumata la mia carne, s' accostò la bocca mia; e lasciate sono solamente le mie labbra intorno a' miei denti.
21 Have mercy on me, have compassion on me, at least you my friends, because the hand of the Lord has touched me.	21 Abbiate misericordia di me, abbiate misericordia di me, almeno voi, miei amici; perciò che la mano del Signore toccò me.
22 Why do you pursue me just as God does, and satiate yourselves with my flesh?	22 Perchè perseguitate me, sì come Iddio, e delle mie carni vi saturate?
23 Who will grant to me that my words may be written down? Who will grant to me that they may be inscribed in a book,	23 Chi mi darà, acciò che si scrivano le mie parole? Chi mi dà, ch' elle sieno messe in libro
24 with an iron pen and a plate of lead, or else be carved in stone?	24 con istilo di ferro, ovvero collo piombino di piombo, ovvero (certo) ch' elle sieno intagliate collo scarpello nella pietra?
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and on the last day I will rise out of the earth.	25 Io so veramente, che lo mio Ricomperatore vive, e nell' ultimo dì della terra mi leveroe.
26 And I will be enveloped again with my skin, and in my flesh I will see my God.	26 E da capo sarò intorniato colla mia pelle, e nella carne mia vederò Iddio.
27 It is he whom I myself will see, and he whom my eyes will behold, and no other. This, my hope, has taken rest in my bosom.	27 Il quale io medesimo vedrò, e gli occhii miei lo riguarderanno, e non altro; riposta è nel mio seno questa speranza.
28 Why then do you now say: “Let us pursue him, and let us find a basis to speak against him?”	28 Adunque perchè dite: perseguitiamo lui, e la radice delle parole ritroviamo contro a lui?
29 So then, flee from the face of the sword, for the sword is the avenger of iniquities; but know this: there is to be a judgment.	29 Fuggite dunque dalla faccia del coltello, perciò che il vendicatore delle iniquitadi è lo coltello; e sappiate ch' egli è giudicio.
