Ezra 3

1 And now the seventh month had arrived, and the sons of Israel were in their cities. Then, the people were gathered together, like one man, in Jerusalem.	1 Era già venuto il settimo mese, e i figliuoli d' Israel erano nelle città loro. Tutto il popolo, quasi come uno uomo, si raunò in Ierusalem.
2 And Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, rose up with his brothers, the priests. And Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, rose up with his brothers. And they built the altar of the God of Israel, so that they might offer holocausts upon it, just as it was written in the law of Moses, the man of God.	2 E levossi .Iosue figliuolo di Iosedec e' suoi fratelli sacerdoti [e Zorobabel figliuolo di Salatiel e' suoi fratelli, ed] edificarono l'altare di Dio d' lsrael, per offerire in quello olocausti, sì come è scritto nella legge dell' uomo di Dio Moisè.
3 Now they set the altar of God upon its bases, while keeping the people of all the surrounding lands away from it. And they offered upon it a holocaust to the Lord, morning and evening.	3 E allogarono l'altare sopra le sue basi, ispaventando loro i popoli delle terre dintorno; e offerirono, sopra quello, olocausto al Signore la mattina e al vespro.
4 And they kept the solemnity of tabernacles, just as it was written, and the holocaust of each day in order, according to the precept, the work of each day in its time.	4 E feciono la festa de' tabernacoli, sì come egli è scritto, e lo olocausto ciascuno die per ordine, secondo il comandamento dell' opera nel dìe suo.
5 And after these, they offered the continual holocaust, as much on the new moons as on all the solemnities of the Lord that were consecrated, and on all those when a voluntary gift was offered to the Lord.	5 E dopo questo il continuo olocausto, così nei calendi come in tutte le altre solennitadi del Signore, le quali erano consecrate, e in tutte le altre nelle quali oltra questo era offerto dono al Signore.
6 From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer holocausts to the Lord. But the temple of God had not yet been founded.	6 Dal primo die del settimo mese cominciarono a offerire lo olocausto al Signore; ma il tempio di Dio non era ancora fondato.
7 And so they gave money to those who cut and laid stones. Similarly, they gave food, and drink, and oil to the Sidonians and the Tyrians, so that they would bring cedar wood, from Lebanon to the sea at Joppa, in accord with what had been commanded of them by Cyrus, the king of the Persians.	7 E diedero la moneta a' petraiuoli e a' calcinaiuoli, e il manicare e il bere e olio a que' di Sidone e di Tiro, acciò che portassero legnami di cedro dal Libano al mare di Ioppe, secondo che Ciro re di Persia avea comandato loro.
8 Then, in the second year of their advent to the temple of God in Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and the remainder of their brothers, the priests, and the Levites, and all who had arrived from the captivity to Jerusalem, began, and they appointed Levites, from twenty years and over, to hasten the work of the Lord.	8 E nell'anno secondo del loro avvenimento al tempo del Signore in Ierusalem, nel secondo mese, cominciarono Zorobabel figliuolo di Salatiel, e Iosue figliuolo di Iosedec, e tutti gli altri de' loro fratelli sacerdoti e Leviti, e tutti gli altri i quali erano venuti della pregione in Ierusalem, e ordinarono gli Leviti da XX anni in suso, che sollecitassero il lavorio del Signore.
9 And Jeshua and his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, and the sons of Judah, like one man, stood so that they might have charge over those who did the work in the temple of God: the sons of Henadad, and their sons, and their brothers, the Levites.	9 E istettero Iosue e i suoi figliuoli e i suoi fratelli, Cedmiel e i suoi figliuoli, e i figliuoli di Giuda, quasi come uno uomo, soprastando a coloro i quali lavoravano nel tempio di Dio; i figliuoli di Enadad, i loro figliuoli e i loro fratelli Leviti.
10 And when the builders had founded the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their adornment with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, stood with cymbals, so that they might praise God by the hand of David, the king of Israel.	10 E fondato il tempio di Dio da' maestri, istettero i sacerdoti nel suo ornamento con le trombe, e i Leviti figliuoli di Asaf con cimbali, a laudare Iddio per mano di David re d' Israel.
11 And they sung together with hymns and confession to the Lord: “For he is good. For his mercy is over Israel unto eternity.” And likewise, all the people shouted with a great clamor in praise to the Lord, because the temple of the Lord had been founded.	11 E cantavano con inni e confessione al Signore; però ch' egli è buono, e in secolo di secoli si è la sua misericordia sopra Israel. E tutto il popolo gridava con grande rumore, laudando Iddio, però ch' era fondato il tempio del Signore.
12 And many of the priests and the Levites, and the leaders of the fathers and of the elders, who had seen the former temple, when now this temple was founded and was before their eyes, wept with a great voice. And many of them, shouting for joy, lifted up their voice.	12 E molti sacerdoti [e Leviti] e principi di padri, e gli antichi i quali aveano veduto il tempio prima che fosse fondato, e questo tempio era dinanzi agli occhii loro, piagneano con voci alte; e molti gridando con allegrezza, levavano le loro voci.
13 Neither could anyone distinguish between the voice of clamor of joy, and a voice of weeping of the people. For the shouting of the people mixed into a great clamor, and the voice was heard from far away.	13 E non potea persona conoscere la voce del popolo che piagnea, e di quelli che si rallegravano; però che mescolatamente il popolo gridava con grande rumore, e la voce s' udiva da lungi.
