Zechariah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 E fu fatta la parola di Dio (a me), e disse:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: io hoe amato Sion con grande amore, e ora l'hoe amata con grande indegnamento.
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: io sono ritornato a Sion, e abiterò nel mezzo di Ierusalem; e Ierusalem sarà chiamata Città di verità; e il monte (della casa) del Signore delli esèrciti (sarà lo) Monte santificato.
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: ancora abiteranno li vecchi, e l'uomo pieno d' anni nelle piazze di Ierusalem; e li uomini staranno colli bastoncelli in mano per la moltitudine delli dì.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 E le piazze della città saranno ripiene di fanciulli e di fanciulle, e trastullerannosi nelle sue piazze.
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: se parrà che sia malagevole nelli occhi delli antichi di questo popolo in quel tempo, or (non) sarà malagevole a me, [dice lo Signore delli eserciti]?
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 [Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti]: ecco, io salverò lo mio popolo della terra d'oriente, e della terra di ponente.
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 E menorolli, e abiteranno nel mezzo di Ierusalem; e saranno a me in popolo, e io sarò a loro. Iddio, nella veritade e nella giustizia.
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: sieno confortate le vostre mani di voi, i quali udite in questi di queste parole per la bocca de' profeti, nel dì che fu fondata la casa del Signore delli esèrciti, acciò che lo tempio fusse edificato.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 E inanzi a quelli dì non aveano li uomini merito, e non era prezzo di bestiame; e niuno che entrasse e che uscisse avea pace per la tribulazione; e lasciai tutti li uomini, ciascuno contra il suo prossimo.
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Ma ora io non farò secondo li dì che sono andati, alli rimanenti di questo popolo, dice lo Signore delli eserciti.
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 Ma sarà seme di pace; la vigna darà il suo frutto, e la terra darà li suoi germogli, e li cieli daranno la loro rugiada; e farò che li rimanenti di questo popolo possederanno tutte queste cose.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 E sarete; come eravate la maledizione nelle [genti, la] terra di Giuda, e la casa d' Israel, così salverò voi, e sarete benedizione; non temete; confortate le vostre mani.
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Però che questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: com' io pensai d' affliggere voi, conciosia cosa che li vostri padri provocassono me ad ira,
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 e io non ebbi misericordia; così convertito io pensai in questi dì di far bene a Ierusalem e alla casa di Giuda; non temete.
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 Queste sono le parole che voi farete; parli ciascuno verità col suo prossimo; e giudicate la verità e il giudicio di pace nelle vostre porte.
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 E niuno pensi male contro al suo prossimo nelli vostri cuori, e non amate lo giuramento bugiardo; però che tutte queste cose sono, le quali ho avuto in odio, dice lo Signore Iddio.
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 E fu fatta la parola del Signore delli esèrciti a me, e disse:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 [Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti]: lo digiuno del quarto dì, e lo digiuno del V dì, e lo digiuno del VII dì, e lo digiuno del X dì sarà [al] la casa di Giuda in godimento e in allegrezza e in ispeciali solennitadi; ma pure amate la veritade e la pace.
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: perchè vengono li popoli, e àbitano in molte cittadi;
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 e vanno li abitatori l'uno all' altro, e dicono: andiamo, e preghiamo la faccia di Dio, e domandiamo lo Signore delli esèrciti; e anderovvi an ch' io.
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 E verranno molti popoli, e le genti robuste, per addomandare lo Signore delli esèrciti in Ierusalem, e per pregare la faccia sua.
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: in quelli dì, ne' quali piglieranno X uomini di tutte le lingue delle genti, e piglieranno l'orlo dell' uomo Giudeo, e diranno: noi andremo con voi; però che udimmo che il Signore è con voi.
