1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Queste sono le mansioni de' figliuoli d'Israele usciti dall'Egitto divisi nelle loro schieresotto la condotta di Mosè e di Aronne,
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Descritte da Mosè secondo i luoghi degli alloggiamenti, i quali luoghi ei cambiavano secondol'ordine del Signore.
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 Partirono adunque da Ramesse il primo mese, ai quindici del mese primo, il giorno dopo laPasqua, i figliuoli d'Israele con gran possanza a vista di tulli gli Egiziani,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 I quali seppellivano i loro primogeniti uccisi dal Signore, il quale anche sopra gli deiloro aveva esercitate le sue vendette,
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 E posarono il campo in Soccoth.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 E da Soccoth andarono a Etham, la quale è all'estremità della solitudine.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 Donde essendo partiti arrivarono dirimpetto a Phihahiroth, che guarda Beel-Sephon, e poserogli alloggiamenti dinanzi a Magdalo.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 E partiti da Phihahiroth passaron pel mezzo del mare nella solitudine: e dopo aver camminatoper tre giorni pel deserto di Etham, posero il campo a Mara.
9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.	9 E da Mara andarono ad Elim, dov'erano dodici fontane di acqua, e settanta palme, e ivi siattendarono.

11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.	11 Ad accamparsi nel deserto di Sin.
12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.	12 Di dove andarono a Daphca.
13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.	13 E da Daphca passarono in Alus.

41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.	41 E partiti dal monte Hor andarono ad attendarsi a Salmona.
42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.	42 E di lì partirono, e andarono a Phunon.
43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.	43 E da Phunon passarono ad alloggiare ad Oboth.

50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 Dove il Signore disse a Mosè:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 Intima a' figliuoli d'Israele, e di' loro queste cose: Quando, voi avrete passato ilGiordano, entrando nella terra di Canaan,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 Sterminate tutti gli abitanti di quel paese: fate in pezzi gli altari, e riducete in polverele statue, e devastate tutti i luoghi eccelsi,
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 Purificando la terra, e voi l'abiterete: perocché io ne ho dato a voi il dominio.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 E ve la dividerete a sorte. A' più darete porzione più ampia: a' meno, più ristretta. Aciascuno sarà data la sua eredità secondo che porterà la sorte. La divisione farassi pertribù, e per famiglie.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Ma se voi non vorrete uccidere gli abitatori del paese; quelli che resteranno, saran per voicome stecchi negli occhi, e lance nei fianchi, e vi daranno da fare nel paese di vostraabitazione.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 E farò a voi tutto quello che io avea risoluto di fare ad essi.
