NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Moses told the Israelites exactly what Yahweh had ordered him.	1 Parlo Moisè ai figliuoli d'Israel ogni cosa che Iddio gli avea detto.
2 Moses spoke to the tribal leaders of the Israelites and said, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered:	2 E parlò ai principi delle tribù de' figliuoli d'Israel, e disse loro: queste parole mi disse Iddio.
3 "If a man makes a vow to Yahweh or a formal pledge under oath, he must not break his word:whatever he promises by word of mouth he must do.	3 Se alcuno uomo prometterà a Dio per voto, o per giuramento si constrignerà, non ritorni adietro le sue parole; ma ciò che promette sì adempia, (e tragga ad effetto).
4 "If a woman makes a vow to Yahweh or a formal pledge during her youth, while she is stil in her father's house,	4 La femina che si voterà, o prometterà a Dio alcuna cosa per giuramento, se ella è in casa del padre, e sia ancor giovane; se il padre cognoscerà il voto lo quale hae fatto, e il giuramento per lo qual obbligò l'anima sua, e tacerà, è obbligata al voto.
5 and if her father hears about this vow or pledge made by her and says nothing to her, her vow,whatever it may be, will be binding, and the pledge she has taken, whatever it may be, will be binding.	5 E imperò ciò che promettè renda a Dio. (Se tanto è ch' ella lo faccia senza volontà del padre),
6 But if her father on the day he learns of it expresses his disapproval of it, then none of the vows orpledges she has taken wil be binding. Yahweh will not hold her to it, since her father has expressed hisdisapproval.	6 e udendola il padre, le contradica (in quello dì che ella fa il suo voto), lo voto e il giuramento è nulla; nè sarà obbligata al voto, però che il padre le ha contradetto.
7 "If, being bound by vows or by a pledge voiced without due reflection, she then marries,	7 Se ella hae marito, e farà alcuno voto, e una fiata uscirà la parola della sua bocca, per la qual lei obblighi l'anima sua (o per voto o) per giuramento,
8 and if her husband hears of it but says nothing on the day he learns of it, her vows wil be binding andthe pledges she has taken will be binding.	8 nel qual dì lo marito l'udirà, e non le con traddirà, sarà obbligata al voto, e osserverà quello che ha promesso.
9 But if on the day he learns of it he expresses his disapproval to her, this wil annul the vow that shehas made or the pledge that binds her, voiced without due reflection. Yahweh wil not hold her to it.	9 Ma se udendo, subito egli il contraddice, non sarà tenuta alla promessione, perciò che il marito l'hae contraddetto; e tutte le sue promissioni, per le quali avea astretta l'anima sua, saranno per nulla; ma Iddio le sarà in aiuto.
10 "The vow of a widow or a divorced woman and al pledges taken by her are binding on her.	10 La donna vedova, e quella che è licenziata dal marito suo, tutto quello al qual per voto si obbligheranno saranno obbligate ad osservare.
11 "If she has made a vow or taken a pledge under oath while in her husband's house,	11 Se la donna farae voto o giuramento in casa del marito,
12 and if when the husband learns of it he says nothing to her and does not express disapproval to her,then the vow, whatever it is, wil be binding, and the pledge, whatever it is, will be binding.	12 se il marito udirà e tacerà, e non contrad dirà alla promissione, sarà obbligata a quello ch' ella prometterà di fare.
13 But if the husband when he hears of it annuls it on the day he learns of it, no undertaking of hers, beit vow or pledge, will be binding. Since the husband has annul ed it, Yahweh wil not hold her to it.	13 Ma se subito le contraddirà, non sarà obbligata alla promissione, però che il marito ha contraddetto; e lo Signore le sarà propizio.
14 "Every vow or oath that is binding on the wife may be endorsed or annul ed by the husband.	14 Se la donna farà voto, e per giuramento prometterà di affliger l'anima sua o per digiuno o per astinenza di alcune cose, sarà in libertà del marito, che lei lo facci o non facci.
15 "If by the fol owing day the husband has said nothing to her, it means that he endorses her vow,whatever it may be, or her pledge, whatever it may be. He endorses them if he says nothing on the day helearns of them.	15 La qual cosa se lo marito l'udirà e tacerà, e aspetta un altro dì a parlare, tutto quello che ha promesso e votato osservi; però che subito che lo marito udì, istette cheto.
16 But if, having learnt of them, he annuls them later, he wil bear the consequences for his wife's guilt."'	16 Ma se lui contraddirà, dopo che l'avrà ri saputo, lui porterà la sua iniquità.
17 Such were the laws which Yahweh prescribed to Moses, concerning the relationship between a manand his wife, and between a father and his daughter while stil young and living in her father's home.	17 Queste sono le leggi, le quali ordinò il Signore a Moisè fra il marito e la moglie, fra il padre e la figliuola, la quale è in etade puerile, ovver che abita in casa del padre e della madre.
