Hosea 7

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;	1 Conciosia cosa ch' io volessi dare sanitade a Israel, allora si rivelò la malvagitade di Efraim, e la malizia di Samaria; però che hanno adoperato (e commesso) bugìa; ed entrovvi lo ladro, e spogliò li ladroncelli di fuori.
2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.	2 Acciò che forse non dicano nello loro cuore, che ricordino a me tutta la malizia loro; ora li hanno attorniati li loro trovamenti; dinanzi alla faccia mia sono fatti.
3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.	3 Allegronno lo re per la loro malizia, e con loro mentiri allegrarono li principi.
4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.	4 Tutti commettono adulterio, quasi come uno forno acceso dal cocitore; e la città si riposò uno poco per lo mescolamento del fermento, insino a tanto che si fermentasse tutto (cioè che sì lievitasse).
5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople	5 Nelli di dello nostro re cominciarono li prìncipi a impazzire per lo vino; e distese la sua mano colli schernitori (e colli beffardi i quali s'appiccarono insieme).
6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;	6 E lo suo cuore era come uno forno (quando arde), però che (dì e notte) poneva loro le insidie; colui che li coceva, tutta la notte sì dormio infino. alla mattina; ed è acceso come la fiamma del fuoco.
7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.	7 E tutti sono scaldati a modo d' uno forno, e divorarono (tutti) li loro giudici; e tutti li loro re caddono in terra; niuno di loro è che gridi a me.
8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.	8 Efraim, esso si mescolava nelli popoli; ed Efraim fu fatto come pane che si fa sotto la cenere, lo quale non si volge.
9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.	9 Li stranieri si mangiarono la sua fortezza, e loro non lo seppono; e ancora li cani furono messi addosso a lui, ed egli ne fue ignorante.
10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)	10 E la superbia d' Israel sì s'aumilierae nella sua faccia; e pure non ritornarono al loro Signore Iddio, e non (si ricercarono nè) addomandarono lui per tutte queste cose.
11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.	11 E fue fatto Efraim quasi come una colomba sedotta che non hae cuore; elli chiamavano Egitto, e andàronsene a quelli di Siria.
12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.	12 E quando saranno andati, io spanderò sopra loro la mia rete; e tirerolli a modo che si tirano li uccelli; io li percoterò secondo l'udito della loro compagnia.
13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.	13 Guai a loro, però che si partirono da me; saranno vastati, però che hanno prevaricato contro a me; e io li ricomperai, e loro parlarono contro a me le bugie.
14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.	14 E non chiamarono a me nello loro cuore, ma urlavano nelli loro letti; ruminavano sopra lo grano e sopra lo vino; loro si partirono da me.
15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.	15 Io sì gli avea ammaestrati e confortati, e diedi forza allo loro braccio; e pensarono malizia contro a me.
16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!	16 E ritornarono per essere sanza giogo; e sono fatti come uno arco pieno d'inganni; li loro principi cadranno nello coltello, per lo furore della lingua loro. E queste sono le beffe che sono fatte di loro nella terra d' Egitto.
