NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Tysiąclecia
1 In the third year of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that had original yappeared to me.	1 W trzecim roku panowania króla Baltazara miałem widzenie, ja, Daniel, po tym, co ujrzałem poprzednio.
2 I gazed at the vision, and as I gazed I found myself in Susa, the citadel in the province of Elam; gazingat the vision, I found myself at the Ulai Gate.	2 Gdy patrzałem podczas widzenia, zobaczyłem siebie w Suzie, w warowni, która leży w kraju Elam. Patrzałem w widzeniu i znalazłem się nad rzeką Ulaj.
3 I raised my eyes to look, and I saw a ram standing in front of the gate. It had two horns; both were tal ,but one tal er than the other, and the one that rose the higher was the second.	3 Podniosłem oczy i spojrzałem, oto jeden baran stał nad rzeką; miał on dwa rogi, obydwa wysokie, jeden wyższy niż drugi, a wyższy wyrósł później.
4 I saw the ram butting westwards, northwards and southwards. No animal could stand up to it, nothingcould escape its power. It did as it pleased and became strong.	4 Ujrzałem barana bodącego rogami ku zachodowi, północy i południu. Żadne ze zwierząt nie mogło mu sprostać ani nikt nie mógł uwolnić się z jego mocy. On zaś czynił, co chciał, i stawał się wielki.
5 This is what I observed: a he-goat from the west, encroaching over the entire surface of the worldthough never touching the ground, and between its eyes the goat had one majestic horn.	5 Ja zaś patrzałem uważnie i oto od zachodu szedł kozioł po całej powierzchni ziemi, nie dotykając jej. Kozioł ten miał okazały róg między oczami.
6 It advanced on the two-horned ram, which I had seen standing in front of the gate, and charged at it inthe full force of its fury.	6 Podszedł on aż do barana o dwóch rogach, którego widziałem stojąc nad rzeką, i rzucił się na niego z całą swą złością.
7 I saw it reach the ram; it was enraged with the ram and struck it, breaking both its horns, so that theram was not strong enough to hold its ground; it threw it to the ground and trampled it underfoot; no one wasthere to rescue the ram.	7 Zobaczyłem, jak on zbliżywszy się do barana rozzłościł się na niego, i uderzył barana, i złamał oba jego rogi. Baran nie miał siły, by mu stawić czoła. Powalił więc on go na ziemię i podeptał nogami, a nie było nikogo, kto by wyrwał barana z jego mocy.
8 The he-goat then grew more powerful than ever; but at the height of its strength the great hornsnapped, and in its place sprouted four majestic horns, pointing to the four winds of heaven.	8 Kozioł urósł niezmiernie, ale gdy był w pełni sił, wielki róg uległ złamaniu, a na jego miejscu wyrosły cztery inne - ku czterem stronom świata.
9 From one of these, the smal one, sprang a horn which grew to great size towards south and east andtowards the Land of Splendour.	9 Z jednego z nich wyrósł inny, mały róg, i wzrastał nadmiernie ku południowi, ku wschodowi i ku wspaniałemu krajowi.
10 It grew right up to the armies of heaven and flung armies and stars to the ground, and trampled themunderfoot.	10 Wzniósł się on aż do wojska niebieskiego i strącił na ziemię część wojska oraz gwiazd i podeptał je.
11 It even challenged the power of the Prince of the army; it abolished the perpetual sacrifice andoverthrew the foundation of his sanctuary,	11 Wielkością dosięgał on niemal Władcy wojska, odjął Mu wieczną ofiarę, obalił miejsce Jego przybytku
12 and the army too; over the sacrifice it installed iniquity and flung truth to the ground; the horn wasactive and successful.	12 i Jego wojsko. Jako codzienną ofiarę składał występek i prawdę rzucił na ziemię; działał zaś skutecznie.
13 I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one say to the speaker, 'How long is this vision to be --of perpetual sacrifice, of horrifying iniquity, of sanctuary and army trampled underfoot?'	13 I usłyszałem, że gdy jeden ze świętych mówił, a drugi święty zapytał tego, który mówił: Jak długo potrwa widzenie: wieczna ofiara, zgubna nieprawość, przybytek i podeptane zastępy?
14 The first replied, 'Until two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings have gone by: then thesanctuary wil have its rights restored.'	14 On zaś powiedział do niego: Jeszcze przez dwa tysiące trzysta wieczorów i poranków, następnie świątynia odzyska swoje prawa.
15 As I, Daniel, gazed at the vision and tried to understand it, I saw someone standing in front of me wholooked like a man.	15 Gdy ja, Daniel, oglądałem widzenie i roztrząsałem jego znaczenie, oto stanął przede mną ktoś o wyglądzie mężczyzny,
16 I heard a human voice cry over the Ulai, 'Gabriel, tell him the meaning of the vision!'	16 i usłyszałem głos ludzki nad rzeką Ulaj, który wołał tymi słowami: Gabrielu, wyjaśnij mu widzenie!
17 He approached the place where I was standing; as he approached, I was seized with terror and fellprostrate on the ground. 'Son of man,' he said to me, 'understand this: the vision shows the time of the End.'	17 Podszedł więc on do miejsca, gdzie stałem, a gdy przybył, przeraziłem się i padłem na twarz. I powiedział do mnie: Wiedz, człowieku, że widzenie odnosi się do czasów ostatecznych.
18 He was stil speaking, when I fainted, face downwards on the ground. He touched me, however, andraised me to my feet.	18 Gdy on ze mną rozmawiał, padłem oszołomiony twarzą ku ziemi, wtedy dotknął mnie, postawił mnie na nogi
19 'Come,' he said, 'I shall tel you what is going to happen when the Retribution is over, about the finaltimes.	19 i powiedział: Oto oznajmię ci, co ma nastąpić przy końcu gniewu, bo widzenie dotyczy końca czasów.
20 As for the ram which you saw, its two horns are the kings of Media and of Persia.	20 Baran, którego widziałeś z dwoma rogami, oznacza królów Medów i Persów.
21 The hairy he-goat is the king of Greece, the large horn between its eyes is the first king.	21 Kozioł zaś - króla Jawanu, a wielki róg między jego oczami - pierwszego króla.
22 The horn which snapped and the four horns which sprouted in its place are four kingdoms rising fromhis nation but not having his strength.	22 Róg zaś, który uległ złamaniu, i cztery rogi, co wyrosły na jego miejsce, to cztery królestwa, które powstaną z jego narodu, będą jednak pozbawione jego mocy.
23 'And at the end of their reign, when the measure of their sins is ful , a king wil arise, a proud-faced,ingenious-minded man.	23 A przy końcu ich panowania, gdy występni dopełnią swej miary, powstanie król o okrutnym obliczu, zdolny rozumieć rzeczy tajemne.
24 His power will grow greater and greater, though not through any power of his own; he wil plotincredible schemes, he wil succeed in whatever he undertakes, he wil destroy powerful men and the holy ones,God's people.	24 Jego moc będzie potężna, ale nie dzięki własnej sile. Będzie zamierzał rzeczy dziwne i dozna powodzenia w swych poczynaniach; obróci wniwecz potężnych i naród świętych.
25 Such wil be his resourcefulness of mind that all his treacherous activities wil succeed. He wil growarrogant of heart and destroy many people by taking them unawares. He wil chal enge the power of the Princeof princes but, without any human intervention, he will be broken.	25 Przy jego przebiegłości i knowanie będzie skuteczne w jego ręku. Stanie się on wyniosłym w sercu i niespodziane zgotuje zagładę wielu. Powstanie przeciw Najwyższemu Księciu, lecz bez udziału ręki ludzkiej zostanie skruszony.
26 The vision of the evenings and the mornings which has been revealed is true, but you must keep thevision secret, for there are stil many days to go.'	26 Widzenie zaś o wieczorach i rankach, jakie opowiedziano tobie, jest prawdziwe. Ty jednak widzenie okryj milczeniem, bo dotyczy ono dni odległych.
27 At this I, Daniel, lost consciousness; I was il for several days. Then I got up to discharge my duties inthe king's service, keeping the vision a secret and still not understanding what it meant.	27 Wtedy mnie, Daniela, ogarnęła niemoc i chorowałem przez wiele dni. Następnie wstałem i załatwiałem sprawy królewskie; byłem jednak poruszony widzeniem, gdyż nie mogłem go zrozumieć.
