Jeremiah 52

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.	1 Tinha Sedecias vinte e um anos ao começar seu reinado. Seu reino durou onze anos em Jerusalém. Chamava-se sua mãe Amital, filha de Jeremias, e era natural de Lobna.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.	2 Como Joaquim, ele também praticou o mal aos olhos do Senhor.
3 That this should happen to Jerusalem and Judah was due to Yahweh's anger, resulting in his castingthem away from his presence. Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.	3 Assim aconteceu em Jerusalém e Judá, por querer o Senhor, em sua cólera, repeli-los para longe de sua presença.
4 In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon advanced on Jerusalem with his entire army; he pitched camp in front of the city and threw upearthworks round it.	4 No nono ano de seu reinado, no décimo dia do décimo mês, foi Nabucodonosor, com todo o seu exército, contra Jerusalém, armando e construindo fortificações em torno dela.
5 The city lay under siege till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.	5 Até o décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Sedecias perdurou o sítio da cidade.
6 In the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when famine was raging in the city and there was nofood for the populace,	6 No nono dia do quarto mês, como a fome invadisse a cidade e não tivesse a população o que comer,
7 a breach was made in the city wal . The king and al the fighting men then fled, leaving the city undercover of dark, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah.	7 uma brecha foi feita na muralha da cidade e, à noite, fugiram os guerreiros pelo caminho da porta entre os dois muros, perto do jardim do rei, enquanto os caldeus cercavam a cidade. 8 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, where allhis troops deserted.	8 Mas o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei e o alcançou nas planícies de Jericó. Então as tropas de Sedecias o abandonaram, dispersando-se em fuga.
9 But the Chaldaeans captured the king and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory ofHamath, where he passed sentence on him.	9 Foi então o rei aprisionado e conduzido a Rebla, na presença do rei de Babilônia que contra ele pronunciou sua sentença.
10 He had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes; he also had all the chief men of Judah put todeath at Riblah.	10 E, diante de seus olhos, foram degolados em Rebla seus filhos, assim como todos os chefes de Judá.
11 He then put out Zedekiah's eyes and, loading him with chains, the king of Babylon carried him off toBabylon where he kept him prisoner until his dying day.	11 Em seguida, foram-lhe arrancados os olhos e, ligado com cadeias de bronze, levaram-no para Babilônia, onde, até o dia de sua morte, permaneceu encarcerado.
12 In the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month -- it was in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzarking of Babylon -- Nebuzaradan commander of the guard, a member of the king of Babylon's staff, enteredJerusalem.	12 No sétimo dia do quinto mês, décimo nono ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, Nabuzardã, chefe da guarda e servidor do rei de Babilônia, penetrou em Jerusalém,
13 He burnt down the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and al the houses in Jerusalem.	13 pôs fogo no templo do Senhor, no palácio real, e em todas as casas da cidade, e entregou às chamas as casas dos maiorais.
14 The Chaldaean troops who accompanied the commander of the guard demolished al the wal ssurrounding Jerusalem.	14 Em seguida, as tropas dos caldeus, que acompanhavam o chefe da guarda, demoliram as muralhas que cercavam Jerusalém.
15 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported (some of the poor people and) the remainder of thepopulation left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the artisans.	15 E Nabuzardã, chefe da guarda, deportou para Babilônia uma parte dos pobres da terra e o que restara da população da cidade, bem como os que já se haviam rendido ao rei de Babilônia e o restante dos artífices.
16 But Nebuzaradan commander of the guard left some of the poor country-people behind as vineyardworkers and ploughmen.	16 O chefe da guarda deixou ali alguns homens pobres, como vinhateiros e lavradores.
17 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took al the bronze away to Babylon.	17 Quebraram também os caldeus as colunas de bronze do templo do Senhor, juntamente com os pedestais e o mar de bronze que estava no templo, levando todo esse metal para Babilônia.
18 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the sprinkling bowls, the incense bowls,and all the bronze furnishings used in worship.	18 Carregaram também cinzeiros, pás, facas, vasos e demais objetos de bronze que serviam ao culto.
19 The commander of the guard also took the bowls, the censers, the sprinkling bowls, the ashcontainers, the lamp-stands, the goblets and the saucers: everything that was made of gold and everythingmade of silver.	19 Carregou ainda o chefe dos guardas as bacias, os braseiros, vasos, potes, candelabros, taças, copos e colheres, e o que havia em ouro e prata.
20 As regards the two pil ars, the one Sea, the twelve bronze oxen supporting the Sea, and the wheeledstands, which King Solomon had made for the Temple of Yahweh, there was no reckoning the weight of bronzein all these objects.	20 Quanto às duas colunas, ao mar, aos doze bois de bronze que as sustentavam, e aos pedestais que Salomão mandara fabricar para o templo do Senhor, difícil seria calcular o valor do bronze de todos esses objetos.
21 As regards the pil ars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, its circumference was twelvecubits, it was four fingers thick, and hol ow inside;	21 A altura de uma dessas colunas era de dezoito côvados e um cordão de doze côvados cingia-lhe a volta, sendo a espessura de quatro dedos, e oco o seu interior.
22 on it stood a capital of bronze, the height of the capital being five cubits; round the capital were filigreeand pomegranates, al in bronze. So also for the second pil ar.	22 Encimava-as um capitel de bronze de cinco côvados; uma grade de romãs, também em bronze, cercavam o alto do capitel. Era semelhante a esta a segunda coluna, com romãs em torno,
23 There were ninety-six pomegranates round the sides, making a hundred pomegranates round thefiligree in al .	23 em número de noventa e seis, e o total das romãs, em volta da grade, era de cem.
24 The commander of the guard took prisoner Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest next in rank,and the three guardians of the threshold.	24 O chefe da guarda aprisionou o primeiro sacerdote, Saraías, e Sofonias, o segundo e os três guardas do vestíbulo.
25 In the city he took prisoner an official who was in command of the fighting men, seven of the king'spersonal friends who were discovered in the city, the secretary to the army commander responsible for militaryconscription, and sixty men of distinction discovered in the city.	25 Tomou da cidade um eunuco, que era encarregado do comando dos homens de guerra, sete homens do séquito do rei que foram encontrados na cidade, o intendente do exército, encarregado do recrutamento na terra, assim como mais sessenta homens da terra que se encontravam na cidade.
26 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard took these men and brought them to the king of Babylon atRiblah,	26 Nabuzardã, chefe da guarda, aprisionou-os e mandou-os conduzir a Rebla, ante o rei de Babilônia.
27 and at Riblah, in the territory of Hamath, the king of Babylon had them put to death. Thus Judah wasdeported from its country.	27 E este mandou executá-los em Rebla, na região de Emat. E assim Judá foi deportado para longe de sua terra.
28 The number of people deported by Nebuchadnezzar was as fol ows. In the seventh year: threethousand and twenty-three Judaeans;	28 Eis o número dos homens que Nabucodonosor levou ao cativeiro: no sétimo ano, 3.032 homens de Judá;
29 in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, eight hundred and thirty-two persons were deported fromJerusalem;	29 no décimo oitavo ano de Nabucodonosor, 832 pessoas foram deportadas de Jerusalém;
30 in the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported sevenhundred and forty-five Judaeans. In al : four thousand six hundred persons.	30 no vigésimo terceiro ano de Nabucodonosor, Nabuzardã, chefe dos guardas, deportou de Judá 745 pessoas. Ao todo, 4.600 pessoas.
31 But in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on thetwenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year he came to the throne, pardonedJehoiachin king of Judah and released him from prison.	31 No trigésimo sétimo ano do cativeiro de Joaquin, rei de Judá, no vigésimo quinto dia do décimo segundo mês, Evilmerodac, rei de Babilônia, no ano de sua elevação ao trono, perdoou Joaquin, rei de Judá, e mandou libertá-lo da prisão.
32 He treated him kindly and allotted him a seat above those of the other kings who were with him inBabylon.	32 Falando-lhe com benevolência, designou-lhe um trono mais elevado que o dos reis que estavam com ele em Babilônia.
33 So Jehoiachin laid aside his prisoner's garb and for the rest of his life always ate at the king's table.	33 Mandou que lhe mudassem as vestes de prisioneiro e, até o fim de sua vida, Joaquin comeu à mesa do rei da Babilônia.
34 And his upkeep was permanently ensured by the king, day after day, for the rest of his life until theday he died.	34 Durante toda a sua vida, até o dia de sua morte, sua manutenção foi garantida pelos cuidados do rei de Babilônia.
