Ezekiel 35

1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 E fu fatta la parola di Dio a me, e disse:
2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it.	2 O figliuolo d' uomo, poni la tua faccia incontro al monte Seir, e profeterai a lui, e dirai:
3 Say to it: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.	3 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: ecco me a te, Seir; ed estenderò la mia mano sopra te, e farò te deserto e desolato.
4 Your cities I will turn into ruins, and you shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.	4 E guasterò le tue cittadi, e sarai deserto; e saprai ch' io sono lo Signore.
5 Because you never let die your hatred for the Israelites, whom you delivered over to the power of the sword at the time of their trouble, when their crimes came to an end,	5 Però che mi se' stato nimico sempiterno, e hai rinchiuso i figliuoli d' Israel nella mano del coltello nel tempo della afflizione loro, nel tempo della estrema iniquità.
6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, you have been guilty of blood, and blood, I swear, shall pursue you.	6 Però io vivo, dice lo Signore Iddio, però ch' io ti darò al sangue, e lo sangue ti perseguiterà; e sarai odiato col sangue, e lo sangue ti perseguiterà.
7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste, and cut off from it any traveler.	7 E farò lo monte di Seir desolato e deserto, e torrò da lui l'andante e lo ritornante.
8 With the slain I will fill your hills, your valleys, and all your ravines (in them the slain shall fall by the sword):	8 E riempierò li suoi monti di corpi morti; nelli colli tuoi e nelle tue valli e nelli fossatelli cadranno li morti di coltello.
9 desolate will I make you forever, and leave your cities without inhabitants; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.	9 E porrotti in sempiterne solitudini, e le tue cittadi non saranno abitate; e saprete ch' io sono Iddio Signore.
10 Because you said: The two nations and the two lands have become mine; we shall possess them--although the LORD was there--	10 Però che hai detto: due genti e due terre saranno mie, e possederolle per eredità, conciosia cosa che vi fosse lo Signore;
11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to your anger and your envy which you have exercised (in your hatred) against them. I will make myself known among you when I judge you,	11 però [io vivo], dice lo Signore Iddio, però ch' io farò secondo la tua ira, e secondo lo tuo zelo, però che tu lo facesti avendoli in odio; e sarò conosciuto per loro, quando io t' averò (conosciuto e) giudicato.
12 and you shall know that I am the LORD. I have heard all the contemptuous things you have uttered against the mountains of Israel: "They are desolate, they have been given us to devour."	12 E saprai ch' io sono Iddio; io udi tutti li tuoi vituperii, li quali tu hai parlato delli monti d' Israel, dicendo: deserti, ci sono dati a noi a divorare.
13 I have heard the insolent and wild words you have spoken against me.	13 E levastivi suso sopra di me colla vostra bocca, e pregaste contro a me; io udii le vostre parole.
14 Thus says the Lord GOD: Just as you rejoiced over my land because it was desolate, so will I do to you.	14 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: rallegrandosi l'universa terra, io riducerò te in solitudine.
15 In keeping with your glee over the devastation of the inheritance of the house of Israel, so will I treat you. A waste shall you be, Mount Seir, you and the whole of Edom. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	15 Sì come tu se' rallegrato sopra la ereditate d' Israel, però che fu dissipata (e guastata), così farò io a te: tu sarai disfatto (e sparpagliato), monte di Seir, e tutta la Idumea; e sapranno ch' io sono lo Signore Iddio.
