1 Thus says the LORD to his anointed, Cyrus, whose right hand I grasp, Subduing nations before him, and making kings run in his service, Opening doors before him and leaving the gates unbarred:	1 Voici ce que dit Yahvé à Cyrus, à celui qu’il a consacré: “Je t’ai pris par la main droite, pour faire plier devant toi les nations, pour défaire la ceinture des rois, pour ouvrir devant toi les portes, et que les portails ne se referment plus.
2 I will go before you and level the mountains; Bronze doors I will shatter, and iron bars I will snap.	2 Je marcherai devant toi, j’aplanirai les chemins difficiles; je briserai les portes de bronze et mettrai en pièces les verrous de fer.
3 I will give you treasures out of the darkness, and riches that have been hidden away, That you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.	3 Je te donnerai les trésors cachés, les richesses qu’on avait mises en sûreté, et tu sauras que je suis Yahvé, le Dieu d’Israël qui t’a appelé par ton nom.
4 For the sake of Jacob, my servant, of Israel my chosen one, I have called you by your name, giving you a title, though you knew me not.	4 À cause de Jacob mon serviteur, à cause d’Israël que j’ai choisi, je t’ai appelé par ton nom; je t’ai donné un rôle alors que tu ne me connaissais pas.
5 I am the LORD and there is no other, there is no God besides me. It is I who arm you, though you know me not,	5 Il n’y a rien sinon moi, Yahvé, il n’y a pas de Dieu en dehors de moi. Je t’ai lancé alors que tu ne me connaissais pas,
6 so that toward the rising and the setting of the sun men may know that there is none besides me. I am the LORD, there is no other;	6 pour que l’on sache depuis l’orient jusqu’au couchant, qu’il n’y a rien en dehors de moi. Il n’y a pas d’autre que moi, Yahvé,
7 I form the light, and create the darkness, I make well-being and create woe; I, the LORD, do all these things.	7 celui qui forme la lumière et qui fait les ténèbres, qui mène au succès et qui fait le malheur, tout cela je le fais, moi, Yahvé.
8 Let justice descend, O heavens, like dew from above, like gentle rain let the skies drop it down. Let the earth open and salvation bud forth; let justice also spring up! I, the LORD, have created this.	8 Cieux, faites tomber de là-haut la rosée, et que les nuées donnent une pluie de justice. Que s’ouvre la terre, et que fleurisse le salut, tandis que la justice germera: c’est mon œuvre à moi, Yahvé.
9 Woe to him who contends with his Maker; a potsherd among potsherds of the earth! Dare the clay say to its modeler, "What are you doing?" or, "What you are making has no hands"?	9 Malheur à qui discute avec celui qui l’a formé, quand il n’est qu’un vase entre vases de terre. L’argile dira-t-elle à celui qui la travaille: “Que fais-tu là?” Elle n’a même pas de mains!
10 Woe to him who asks a father, "What are you begetting?" or a woman, "What are you giving birth to?"	10 Malheur à celui qui dit à un père: “Qu’as-tu engendré!” ou à une femme: “Qu’as-tu mis au monde!”
11 Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, his maker: You question me about my children, or prescribe the work of my hands for me!	11 Voici ce que dit Yahvé, le Saint d’Israël, celui qui l’a formé: Est-ce à vous de me questionner sur mes fils ou de me dire ce que je dois faire?
12 It was I who made the earth and created mankind upon it; It was my hands that stretched out the heavens; I gave the order to all their host.	12 C’est moi qui ai fait la terre, et j’ai créé l’homme pour l’habiter; de mes mains j’ai étendu les cieux et je commande à toute leur armée.
13 It was I who stirred up one for the triumph of justice; all his ways I make level. He shall rebuild my city and let my exiles go free Without price or ransom, says the LORD of hosts.	13 C’est moi de même qui ai lancé Cyrus et ses victoires, et qui lui aplanis tous ses chemins, car il reconstruira ma ville et fera revenir mes déportés, sans demander cadeau ni récompense, - parole de Yahvé Sabaot.
14 Thus says the LORD: The earnings of Egypt, the gain of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, tall of stature, Shall come over to you and belong to you; they shall follow you, coming in chains. Before you they shall fall prostrate, saying in prayer: "With you only is God, and nowhere else; the gods are nought.	14 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Le salaire de l’Égypte, avec les produits de Kouch, et les hommes de Séba, tous de grands gaillards, viendront vers toi et seront à toi. Ils marcheront derrière toi et passeront chargés de chaînes, ils se prosterneront devant toi et prieront tournés vers toi: “Dieu n’est que chez toi, il n’y en a pas d’autre ailleurs.
15 Truly with you God is hidden, the God of Israel, the savior!	15 Tu es Dieu qui aime se cacher, Dieu Sauveur d’Israël!”
16 Those are put to shame and disgrace who vent their anger against him; Those go in disgrace who carve images.	16 Ils seront tous honteux et confus, ils s’en iront couverts de honte, les faiseurs d’idoles,
17 Israel, you are saved by the LORD, saved forever! You shall never be put to shame or disgrace in future ages."	17 mais Israël sera sauvé par Yahvé, pour toujours. Plus jamais dans les siècles à venir vous ne connaîtrez la honte ni l’humiliation.
18 For thus says the LORD, The creator of the heavens, who is God, The designer and maker of the earth who established it, Not creating it to be a waste, but designing it to be lived in: I am the LORD, and there is no other.	18 Car ainsi parle Yahvé, qui a fait les cieux - car il est Dieu, - qui a formé et façonné la terre, - car c’est lui qui l’a mise en place: “Je n’y ai pas mis la confusion, j’ai voulu qu’on y vive, - car je suis Yahvé, et il n’y a pas d’autre;
19 I have not spoken from hiding nor from some dark place of the earth, And I have not said to the descendants of Jacob, "Look for me in an empty waste." I, the LORD, promise justice, I foretell what is right.	19 et de même je n’ai pas parlé en secret, dans quelque endroit caché; et je n’ai pas dit à la race de Jacob: Cherchez-moi, mais tout sera confusion, - car moi, Yahvé, je dis vrai et je parle en clair.”
20 Come and assemble, gather together, you fugitives from among the gentiles! They are without knowledge who bear wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save.	20 Rassemblez-vous et venez, et tâchez de comprendre, vous qui survivez parmi les nations: Ceux qui vont avec leur idole de bois ne savent rien: ils prient un dieu incapable de sauver.
21 Come here and declare in counsel together: Who announced this from the beginning and foretold it from of old? Was it not I, the LORD, besides whom there is no other God? There is no just and saving God but me.	21 Sinon, parlez, donnez vos preuves, et s’il le faut, consultez-vous. Qui avait fait savoir ces choses d’avance? Qui les avait déjà annoncées? Ne voyez-vous pas que je suis Yahvé et qu’il n’y a pas d’autre Dieu que moi: il n’est pas de Dieu juste et sauveur sinon moi.
22 Turn to me and be safe, all you ends of the earth, for I am God; there is no other!	22 Tournez-vous vers moi pour être sauvés, vous tous des quatre coins du monde: Dieu, je le suis, il n’y en a pas d’autre.
23 By myself I swear, uttering my just decree and my unalterable word: To me every knee shall bend; by me every tongue shall swear,	23 Je le jure par moi-même, et de ma bouche sort la vérité, la parole dite ne reviendra pas en arrière: Tout genou fléchira devant moi et toute langue proclamera:
24 Saying, "Only in the LORD are just deeds and power. Before him in shame shall come all who vent their anger against him.	24 “Justice et force ne se trouvent qu’en Yahvé.” Alors viendront vers lui bien humiliés tous ceux qui se dressaient contre lui,
25 In the LORD shall be the vindication and the glory of all the descendants of Israel."	25 mais pour toute la race d’Israël, ce sera avec Yahvé le triomphe et la gloire.
