Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.1 Fecit autem Beseleel et ar cam de lignis acaciae haben tem duos semis cubitos in longitudine et cubitum ac semissem in latitudine, altitudo quoque unius cubiti fuit et dimidii; vestivitque eam auro purissimo intus ac foris.
The inside and outside were plated with gold, and a molding of gold was put around it.2 Et fecit illi coronam auream per gyrum,
Four gold rings were cast and put on its four supports, two rings for one side and two for the opposite side.3 conflans quattuor anulos aureos in quattuor pedibus eius; duos anulos in latere uno et duos in altero.
Poles of acacia wood were made and plated with gold;4 Vectes quoque fecit de lignis acaciae, quos vestivit auro
these were put through the rings on the sides of the ark, for carrying it.5 et quos misit in anulos, qui erant in lateribus arcae, ad portandum eam.
The propitiatory was made of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.6 Fecit et propitiatorium de auro mundissimo: duorum cubitorum et dimidii in longitudine et cubiti ac semis in latitudine.
Two cherubim of beaten gold were made for the two ends of the propitiatory,7 Duos etiam cherubim ex auro ductili fecit ex utraque parte propitiatorii:
one cherub fastened at one end, the other at the other end, springing directly from the propitiatory at its two ends.8 cherub unum ex summitate unius partis et cherub alterum ex summitate partis alterius; duos cherubim ex singulis summitatibus propitiatorii
The cherubim had their wings spread out above, covering the propitiatory with them. They were turned toward each other, but with their faces looking toward the propitiatory.9 extendentes alas sursum et tegentes alis suis propitiatorium seque mutuo et illud respicientes.
The table was made of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high.10 Fecit et mensam de lignis acaciae in longitudine duorum cubitorum et in latitudine unius cubiti, quae habebat in altitudine cubitum ac semissem;
It was plated with pure gold, and a molding of gold was put around it.11 circumdeditque eam auro mundissimo et fecit illi coronam auream per gyrum.
A frame a handbreadth high was also put around it, with a molding of gold around the frame.12 Fecit ei quoque limbum aureum quattuor digitorum per circuitum et super illum coronam auream.
Four rings of gold were cast for it and fastened, one at each of the four corners.13 Fudit et quattuor circulos aureos, quos posuit in quattuor angulis per singulos pedes mensae
The rings were alongside the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table.14 iuxta limbum; misitque in eos vectes, ut possit mensa portari.
These poles were made of acacia wood and plated with gold.15 Ipsos quoque vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et circumdedit eos auro;
The vessels that were set on the table, its plates and cups, as well as its pitchers and bowls for pouring libations, were of pure gold.16 et vasa ad diversos usus mensae, acetabula, phialas et cyathos et crateras ex auro puro, in quibus offerenda sunt libamina.
The lampstand was made of pure beaten gold--its shaft and branches as well as its cups and knobs and petals springing directly from it.17 Fecit et candelabrum ductile de auro mundissimo, basim et hastile eius; scyphi sphaerulaeque ac flores unum cum ipso erant:
Six branches extended from its sides, three branches on one side and three on the other.18 sex in utroque latere, tres calami ex parte una et tres ex altera;
On one branch there were three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; on the opposite branch there were three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; and so for the six branches that extended from the lampstand.19 tres scyphi in nucis modum in calamo uno sphaerulaeque simul et flores et tres scyphi instar nucis in calamo altero sphaerulaeque simul et flores. Aequum erat opus sex calamorum, qui procedebant de hastili candelabri.
On the shaft there were four cups, shaped like almond blossoms, with their knobs and petals,20 In ipso autem hastili erant quattuor scyphi in nucis modum sphaerulaeque et flores;
including a knob below each of the three pairs of branches that extended from the lampstand.21 singulae sphaerulae sub binis calamis per loca tria, qui simul sex fiunt calami procedentes de hastili uno.
The knobs and branches sprang so directly from it that the whole formed but a single piece of pure beaten gold.22 Sphaerulae igitur et calami unum cum ipso erant, totum ductile ex auro purissimo.
Its seven lamps, as well as its trimming shears and trays, were made of pure gold.23 Fecit et lucernas septem cum emunctoriis suis et vasa, ubi emuncta condantur, de auro mundissimo.
A talent of pure gold was used for the lampstand and its various appurtenances.24 Talentum auri purissimi appendebat candelabrum cum omnibus vasis suis.
The altar of incense was made of acacia wood, on a square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high, having horns that sprang directly from it.25 Fecit et altare thymiamatis de lignis acaciae habens per quadrum singulos cubitos et in altitudine duos; e cuius angulis procedebant cornua.
Its grate on top, its walls on all four sides, and its horns were plated with pure gold; and a molding of gold was put around it.26 Vestivitque illud auro purissimo cum craticula ac parietibus et cornibus.
Underneath the molding gold rings were placed, two on one side and two on the opposite side, as holders for the poles to carry it.27 Fecitque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum et binos anulos aureos sub corona in duobus lateribus, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et possit altare portari.
The poles, too, were made of acacia wood and plated with gold.28 Ipsos autem vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et operuit laminis aureis.
The sacred anointing oil and the fragrant incense were prepared in their pure form by a perfumer.29 Composuit et oleum ad sanctificationis unguentum et thymiama de aromatibus mundissimis opere pigmentarii.
