1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).	1 Ось потомство Ісава, він же Едом.
2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;	2 Ісав узяв собі жінок з дочок Ханаану: Аду, дочку Елона, хеттита, Оголіваму, дочку Ани, сина Цівона, хіввія,
3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.	3 і Басмат, дочку Ізмаїла, сестру Невайота.
4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau; Basemath bore Reuel;	4 Ада ж породила Ісавові Еліфаза, а Басмат породила Реуела.
5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.	5 Оголівама породила Єуша, Алама й Кораха. Це сини Ісава, які народилися в нього в Ханаан-краю.
6 Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock comprising various animals and all the property he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to the land of Seir, out of the way of his brother Jacob.	6 Та взяв Ісав своїх жінок, своїх синів, своїх дочок, усіх зо свого дому, своє майно, всю свою худобу й усі свої статки, що був їх придбав у Ханаан-краю, і пішов в інший, Сеїр-край, далеко від Якова, свого брата,
7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.	7 бо майно їхнє було занадто велике, щоб сидіти разом, і край, в якому вони кочували, не міг їх виживити заради їхніх великих стад.
8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)	8 І оселивсь Ісав на Сеїр-горах; Ісав — він же Едом.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.	9 А це потомство Ісава, батька Едома, на Сеїр-узгір’ях.
10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.	10 Імена синів Ісава: Еліфаз, син Ади, жінки Ісава; Реуел, син Басмати, жінки Ісава.
11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.	11 Сини ж Еліфаза були: Теман, Омар, Цефо, Гатам та Кеназ.
12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.	12 А Тімна була наложниця Еліфаза, Ісавового сина, і вродила Еліфазові Амалека. Це потомки Ади, жінки Ісава.
13 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.	13 А сини Реуела: Нахат, Зерах, Шамма й Мізза. Оце потомки Басмати, жінки Ісава.
14 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah--granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon--whom she bore to Esau were Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.	14 Це були сини Оголівами, Ісавової жінки, дочки Ани, сина Цівона. Вона породила Ісавові Суша, Ялама й Кораха.
15 The following are the clans of Esau's descendants. The descendants of Eliphaz, Esau's first-born: the clans of Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,	15 Ось старші синів Ісава. Сини Еліфаза, первістка Ісава: старший Теман, старший Омар, старший Цефо, старший Кеназ,
16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the clans of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are descended from Adah.	16 старший Корах, старший Гатам, старший Амалек. Це старші Еліфаза в Едом-краю, це нащадки Ади.
17 The descendants of Esau's son Reuel: the clans of Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the clans of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.	17 А це сини Реуела, сина Ісава: старший Нахат, старший Зерах, старший Шамма, старший Мізза. Це старші Реуела в Едом-краю, це нащадки Басмати, жінки Ісава.
18 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah: the clans of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the clans of Esau's wife Oholibamah, daughter of Anah.	18 Оголівами ж сини, жінки Ісава, такі: старший Суш, старший Ялам, старший Корах. Це старші Оголівами, дочки Ани, жінки Ісава.
19 Such are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom) according to their clans.	19 Це нащадки Ісава й це їх старші. Це Едом.
20 The following are the descendants of Seir the Horite, the original settlers in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,	20 Ось сини Сеїра Хорія, мешканці краю: Лотан, Шовал, Цівон, Ана,
21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; they are the Horite clans descended from Seir, in the land of Edom.	21 Дішон, Ецер і Дішан. Це вожді хоріїв, синів Сеїра в Едом-краю.
22 Lotan's descendants were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.	22 Сини ж Лотана були Хорі та Геман, а сестра Лотана була Тімна.
23 Shobal's descendants were Alvan, Mahanath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.	23 А це сини Шовала: Алван, Монахат, Евал, Шефо й Онам.
24 Zibeon's descendants were Aiah and Anah. (He is the Anah who found water in the desert while he was pasturing the asses of his father Zibeon.)	24 Сини ж Цівона оті: Айя і Ана; цей Ана, що знайшов гарячі джерела в пустарях, коли пас ослів Цівона, свого батька.
25 The descendants of Anah were Dishon and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah.	25 А діти Ани були: Дішон і Оголівама, дочка Ани.
26 The descendants of Dishon were Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.	26 Ось сини Дішона: Химдан, Ешбан, Ітран і Херан.
27 The descendants of Ezer were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.	27 Сини ж Ецера такі: Білган, Зааван і Акан.
28 The descendants of Dishan were Uz and Aran.	28 А сини Дішана: Уц і Аран.
29 These are the Horite clans: the clans of Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,	29 Це — є старші хоріїв: старший Лотан, старший Шовал, старший Цівон, старший Ана,

31 The following are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites.	31 А ось царі, що царювали в Едом-краю, перше, ніж царював там цар Ізраїля.
32 Bela, son of Beor, became king in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.	32 В Едомі царював Бела, син Беора; а його місто звалося Дінгава.
33 When Bela died, Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded him as king.	33 Та помер Бела й замість нього царював Йовав, син Зераха, з Боцри.
34 When Jobab died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, succeeded him as king. He defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.	34 Умер же Йовав і замість нього царював Хушам, із краю теманіїв.
35 When Husham died, Hadad, son of Bedad, succeeded him as king.	35 Умер і Хушам і замість нього царював Гадад, син Бедада, який розбив мідіянів на полі Моава, а його місто було Авіт.
36 When Hadad died, Samlah, from Masrekah, succeeded him as king.	36 І помер Гадад, замість нього ж царював Самла з Масреки.
37 When Samlah died, Shaul, from Rehoboth-on-the-River, succeeded him as king.	37 Помер і Самла й замість нього царював Саул з Реховоту, над Рікою.
38 When Shaul died, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, succeeded him as king.	38 Умер Саул і замість нього царював Ваал-Ханан, син Ахбора.
39 When Baal-hanan died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau. (His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.)	39 Помер і Ваал-Ханан і замість нього царював Гадад; його ж місто звалося Пау, а ім’я його жінки було Мегедавель, дочка Матреда, внучка Мезагава.
40 The following are the names of the clans of Esau individually according to their subdivisions and localities: the clans of Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,	40 Це імена старійшин Ісава, за їхніми родинами, за їхніми околицями, за їхніми назвиськами: старший Тімна, старший Алва, старший Єтет,
41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,	41 старший Оголівама, старший Ела, старший Пінон,

43 Magdiel, and Iram. These are the clans of the Edomites, according to their settlements in their territorial holdings. (Esau was the father of the Edomites.)	43 старший Магдіел, старший Ірам. Це едомські старші, по їхніх оселях, у займаному ними краї. Оце Ісав, батько Едому.
