1 משכיל לדוד בהיותו במערה תפלה קולי אל יהוה אזעק קולי אל יהוה אתחנן	1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the cave Prayer] To Yahweh I cry out with my plea. To Yahweh Icry out with entreaty.
2 אשפך לפניו שיחי צרתי לפניו אגיד	2 I pour out my worry in his presence, in his presence I unfold my troubles.
3 בהתעטף עלי רוחי ואתה ידעת נתיבתי בארח זו אהלך טמנו פח לי	3 However faint my spirit; you are watching over my path. On the road I have to travel they havehidden a trap for me.
4 הביט ימין וראה ואין לי מכיר אבד מנוס ממני אין דורש לנפשי	4 Look on my right and see -- there is no one who recognises me. Al refuge is denied me, no onecares whether I live or die.
5 זעקתי אליך יהוה אמרתי אתה מחסי חלקי בארץ החיים	5 I cry out to you, Yahweh, I affirm, 'You are my refuge, my share in the land of the living!'
6 הקשיבה אל רנתי כי דלותי מאד הצילני מרדפי כי אמצו ממני	6 Listen to my cal ing, for I am miserably weak. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are toostrong for me.
7 הוציאה ממסגר נפשי להודות את שמך בי יכתרו צדיקים כי תגמל עלי	7 Lead me out of prison that I may praise your name. The upright gather round me because of yourgenerosity to me.
