1 Queste sono le ultime parole di Davidde. Disse, Davidde figliuolo d'Isai: Disse l’uomo, a cui fu data parola del Cristo di Dio di Giacobbe, l’egregio cantore d'Israele.	1 These are the last words of David: Thus speaks David son of Jesse, thus speaks the man raised toeminence, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the singer of the songs of Israel:
2 Lo Spirito del Signore per me parlò, e la parola di lui (fu) sulla mia lingua.	2 The spirit of Yahweh speaks through me, his word is on my tongue;
3 A me parlò il Dio d'Israele, il forte d'Israele parlò; il dominatore degli uomini, il giusto dominatore di que' che temon Dio.	3 the God of Jacob has spoken, the Rock of Israel has said to me: He whose rule is upright on earth,who rules in the fear of God,
4 Essi saranno, come la luce dell'aurora splendente al mattino, quando si leva il sole senza nuvole, e come l'erba, che germina dalla terra dopo la pioggia.	4 is like the morning light at sunrise (on a cloudless morning) making the grass of the earth sparkle afterrain.
5 Nè ella è da tanto la mia casa dinanzi a Dio, che egli dovesse fermare con me un'alleanza eterna, stabile in tutto, e immutabile: perocché egli è tutta la mia salute, e tutta consolazione: e nulla è, che da quella non abbia origine.	5 Yes, my House stands firm with God: he has made an eternal covenant with me, al in order, welassured; does he not bring to fruition my every victory and desire?
6 Ma i prevaricatori saranno estirpati tutti, come le spine, le quali non si spiantano colle mani.	6 But men of Belial he rejects like thorns, for these are never taken up in the hand:
7 Ma se alcuno vuol toccarle, si arma di ferro, o di un'asta di lancia, e si gettano al fuoco, e si riducono in niente coll'abbruciarle.	7 no one touches them except with a pitchfork or spear-shaft, and then only to burn them to nothing!
8 Questi sono i nomi dei campioni di David: Colui, che siede in cattedra sapientissimo principe tra i tre: egli è come quel delicatissimo vermicciuolo, che rode il legno, ed egli uccise ottocento persone in un conflitto.	8 These are the names of David's champions: Ishbaal the Hachmonite leader of the Three; it was hewho brandished his spear over eight hundred men whom he had kil ed at one time.
9 Appresso a questo Eleazaro Ahoite figliuolo dello zio paterno di lui fu dei tre campioni, che erano con Davidde, allorché i Filistei lo insultavano, essendo raunati colà per combattere.	9 Next, there was Eleazar son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three champions. He was with David atPas-Dammim when the Philistines mustered for battle there and the men of Israel had disbanded.
10 E fuggendo gl'Israeliti, Eleazaro tenne fermo, e percosse i Filistei, sino a tanto che spossato il suo braccio s’irrigidì tenendo la spada. E il Signore concedè una vittoria grande in quel giorno: e il popolo, che era fuggito, tornò a spogliare gli uccisi.	10 But he stood his ground and cut down the Philistines until his hand was so stiff that he could not letgo of the sword. Yahweh brought about a great victory that day, and the people rallied behind him, although onlyto plunder.
11 E dopo di lui Semma figliuolo di Age di Arari: e si raunarono i Filistei in un sito, onde era un campo pieno di lenti. E il popolo avendo presa la fuga, e volte le spalle a' Filistei,	11 Next, there was Shamma son of Elah, the Hararite. The Philistines had mustered at Lehi. There wasa field ful of lentils there; the people fled from the Philistines,
12 Si piantò egli nel mezzo del campo, e lo difese, e sbaragliò i Filistei: e il Signore diegli vittoria grande.	12 but he took his stand in the middle of the field, held it, and cut down the Philistines; and Yahwehbrought about a great victory.
13 E qualche tempo prima i tre, che erano i primi de' trenta, erano andati a trovar Davidde nella spelonca di Odollam al tempo della mietitura: e il campo de' Filistei era nella valla de' giganti.	13 Three members of the Thirty went down at the beginning of the harvest and came to David at theCave of Adullam while a company of Philistines was encamped in the Val ey of the Rephaim.
14 E Davidde stava in un sito forte: e i Filistei avean messo presidio in Bethelehem.	14 David was then in the stronghold, and there was a Philistine garrison in Bethlehem.
15 Ora David con gran bramosia disse: O se alcuno mi desse da bere dell'acqua di quella cisterna, che è in Bethlehem vicino alla porta!	15 Longingly David said, 'If only someone would fetch me a drink of water from the wel that stands bythe gate at Bethlehem!'
16 Quei tre campioni allora passarono pel campo dei Filistei, e attinsero l'acqua dalla cisterna di Bethlehem che era vicino alla porta, e la recarono a David: ma egli non ne volle bere, ma ne fece libagione al Signore.	16 At this, the three champions, forcing their way through the Philistine camp, drew water from the welthat stands by the gate of Bethlehem and, taking it away, presented it to David. He, however, would not drinkany of it, but poured it out as a libation to Yahweh.
17 Dicendo: Guardimi il Signore dal fare tal cosa: beverò io il sangue di questi uomini, che sono andati a porre a risico la lor vita? Egli adunque non ne volle bere. Tanto fecero questi uomini fortissimi.	17 'Yahweh preserve me', he said, 'from doing such a thing! This is the blood of men who went at risk oftheir lives.' That was why he would not drink. Such were the deeds of these three champions.
18 Abisai ancora fratello di Gioab, figliuolo di Sarvia, era il primo di tre; egli imbrandì la lancia contro trecento uomini, e gli uccise: egli era famoso tra i tre.	18 Abishai, brother of Joab and son of Zeruiah, was leader of the Thirty. It was he who brandished hisspear over three hundred men whom he had kil ed, winning himself a name among the Thirty.
19 E il più riputato tra questi tre, ed era loro capo: ma non aggiunse a quei tre primi.	19 He was a most il ustrious member of the Thirty and became their captain, but he was not equal to theThree.
20 E Banaia di Cabseel, figliuolo di Jojada, uomo fortissimo, e di fatti grandi: egli uccise i due lioni di Moab, e affrontò, e uccise un lione in una cisterna nel tempo di una nevata.	20 Benaiah of Kabzeel was the son of Jehoiada and hero of many exploits. He it was who slaughteredtwo formidable Moabites and, one snowy day, climbed down and slaughtered the lion in the storage-wel .
21 Egli parimente uccise un Egiziano, uomo da farsi vedere come un prodigio, il quale avea in mano la lancia: e quegli andatogli incontro col suo bastone, strappò a forza la lancia di mano all'Egiziano, e colla sua propria lancia lo uccise.	21 He also slaughtered an Egyptian of great stature. The Egyptian was armed with a spear, but he tookhim on with a staff, tore the spear from the Egyptian's hand and kil ed the man with it.
22 Tanto operò Banaia figliuolo di Jojada.	22 Such were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, winning him a name among the thirty champions.
23 Ed egli era famoso tra' tre, che erano i più illustri de' trenta: ma non giunse al segno di quei tre. E Davidde lo fece suo consigliere, e segretario.	23 He was a most il ustrious member of the Thirty, but he was not equal to the Three. David put him incommand of his bodyguard.
24 Tra i trenta (erano) Asael fratello di Gioab, Elchanan di Bethlehem, figliuolo di un zio paterno di Asael.	24 Asahel brother of Joab was one of the Thirty; Elhanan son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;
25 Semma di Harodi, Elica di Harodi.	25 Shammah of Harod; Elika of Harod;
26 Heles di Phalti, Hira di Thecua figliuolo di Acces,	26 Helez of Beth-Pelet; Ira son of Ikkesh, of Tekoa;
27 Abiezer di Anathoth, Mobonnai di Husati.	27 Abiezer of Anathoth; Sibbecai of Hushah;
28 Selmon di Ahohi, Maharai di Netophath,	28 Zalmon of Ahoh; Maharai of Netophah;
29 Heled figliuolo di Baana, egli pure di Netophath, Ithai figliuolo di Ribai di Gabaath, della tribù di Beniamin.	29 Heled son of Baanah, of Netophah; Ittai son of Ribai, of Gibeah in Benjamin;
