υπολαβων δε ιωβ λεγει | 1 Then Job answered , and said: |
εως τινος εγκοπον ποιησετε ψυχην μου και καθαιρειτε με λογοις | 2 How long do you afflict my soul, and break me in pieces with words? |
γνωτε μονον οτι ο κυριος εποιησε με ουτως καταλαλειτε μου ουκ αισχυνομενοι με επικεισθε μοι | 3 Behold, these ten times you confound me, and are not ashamed to oppress me. |
ναι δη επ' αληθειας εγω επλανηθην παρ' εμοι δε αυλιζεται πλανος [4α] λαλησαι ρημα ο ουκ εδει τα δε ρηματα μου πλαναται και ουκ επι καιρου | 4 For if I have been ignorant, my ignorance shall be with me. |
εα δε οτι επ' εμοι μεγαλυνεσθε εναλλεσθε δε μοι ονειδει | 5 But you have set yourselves up against me, and reprove me with my reproaches. |
γνωτε ουν οτι ο κυριος εστιν ο ταραξας οχυρωμα δε αυτου επ' εμε υψωσεν | 6 At least now understand, that God hath not afflicted me with an equal judgment, and compassed me with his scourges. |
ιδου γελω ονειδει και ου λαλησω κεκραξομαι και ουδαμου κριμα | 7 Behold I cry suffering violence, and no one will hear: I shall cry aloud, and there is none to judge. |
κυκλω περιωκοδομημαι και ου μη διαβω επι προσωπον μου σκοτος εθετο | 8 He hath hedged in my path round about, and I cannot pass, and in my way he hath set darkness. |
την δε δοξαν απ' εμου εξεδυσεν αφειλεν δε στεφανον απο κεφαλης μου | 9 He hath stripped me of my glory, and hath taken the crown from my head. |
διεσπασεν με κυκλω και ωχομην εξεκοψεν δε ωσπερ δενδρον την ελπιδα μου | 10 He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am lost, and he hath taken away my hope, as from a tree that is plucked up. |
δεινως δε μοι οργη εχρησατο ηγησατο δε με ωσπερ εχθρον | 11 His wrath is kindled against me, and he hath counted me as his enemy. |
ομοθυμαδον δε ηλθον τα πειρατηρια αυτου επ' εμοι ταις οδοις μου εκυκλωσαν με εγκαθετοι | 12 His troops have come together, and have made themselves a way by me, and have besieged my tabernacle round about. |
απ' εμου δε αδελφοι μου απεστησαν εγνωσαν αλλοτριους η εμε φιλοι δε μου ανελεημονες γεγονασιν | 13 He hath put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintance like strangers have departed from me. |
ου προσεποιησαντο με οι εγγυτατοι μου και οι ειδοτες μου το ονομα επελαθοντο μου | 14 My kinsmen have forsaken me, and they that knew me, have forgotten me. |
γειτονες οικιας θεραπαιναι τε μου αλλογενης ημην εναντιον αυτων | 15 They that dwelt in my house, and my maidservants have counted me a stranger, and I have been like an alien in their eyes. |
θεραποντα μου εκαλεσα και ουχ υπηκουσεν στομα δε μου εδεετο | 16 I called my servant, and he gave me no answer, I entreated him with my own mouth. |
και ικετευον την γυναικα μου προσεκαλουμην δε κολακευων υιους παλλακιδων μου | 17 My wife hath abhorred my breath, and I entreated the children of my womb. |
οι δε εις τον αιωνα με απεποιησαντο οταν αναστω κατ' εμου λαλουσιν | 18 Even fools despise me; and when I gone from them, they spoke against me. |
εβδελυξαντο δε με οι ειδοτες με ους δη ηγαπηκειν επανεστησαν μοι | 19 They that were sometime my counsellors, have abhorred me: and he whom I love most is turned against me. |
εν δερματι μου εσαπησαν αι σαρκες μου τα δε οστα μου εν οδουσιν εχεται | 20 The flesh being consumed. My bone hath cleaved to my skin, and nothing but lips are left about my teeth. |
ελεησατε με ελεησατε με ω φιλοι χειρ γαρ κυριου η αψαμενη μου εστιν | 21 Have pity on me, have pity on me, at least you my friends, because the hand of the Lord hath touched me. |
δια τι δε με διωκετε ωσπερ και ο κυριος απο δε σαρκων μου ουκ εμπιπλασθε | 22 Why do you persecute me as God, and glut yourselves with my flesh? |
τις γαρ αν δωη γραφηναι τα ρηματα μου τεθηναι δε αυτα εν βιβλιω εις τον αιωνα | 23 Who will grant me that my words may be written? Who will grant me that they may be marked down in a book? |
εν γραφειω σιδηρω και μολιβω η εν πετραις εγγλυφηναι | 24 With an iron pen and in a plate of lead, or else be graven with an instrument in flint stone. |
οιδα γαρ οτι αεναος εστιν ο εκλυειν με μελλων επι γης | 25 For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and in the last day I shall rise out of the earth. |
αναστησαι το δερμα μου το ανατλων ταυτα παρα γαρ κυριου ταυτα μοι συνετελεσθη | 26 And I shall be clothed again with my skin, and in my flesh I will see my God. |
α εγω εμαυτω συνεπισταμαι α ο οφθαλμος μου εορακεν και ουκ αλλος παντα δε μοι συντετελεσται εν κολπω | 27 Whom I myself shall see, and my eyes shall behold, and not another: this my hope is laid up in my bosom. |
ει δε και ερειτε τι ερουμεν εναντι αυτου και ριζαν λογου ευρησομεν εν αυτω | 28 Why then do you say now: Let us persecute him, and let us find occasion of word against him? |
ευλαβηθητε δη και υμεις απο επικαλυμματος θυμος γαρ επ' ανομους επελευσεται και τοτε γνωσονται που εστιν αυτων η υλη | 29 Flee then from the face of the sword, for the sword is the revenger of iniquities: and know ye that there is judgment. |
