Isaiah 30

1 Woe to you, apostate children, saith the Lord, that you would take counsel, and not of me: and would begin a web, and not by my spirit, that you might add sin upon sill:	1 Guai ai figli ribelli, oracolo del Signore, che fanno progetti che non vengono da me, si legano con patti non ispirati da me, così che peccato si aggiunge a peccato.
2 Who walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth, hoping for help in the strength of Pharao, and trusting in the shadow of Egypt.	2 Partono per discendere in Egitto senza consultare la mia bocca, per rifugiarsi sotto la protezione del faraone e per ripararsi all'ombra dell'Egitto.
3 And thestrength of Pharao shall be to your confusion, and the confidence of the shadow of Egypt to your shame.	3 Ma la protezione del faraone sarà la vostra vergogna e il rifugiarsi all'ombra dell'Egitto sarà la vostra confusione.
4 For thy princes were in Tanis, and thy messengers came even to Hanes.	4 Poiché i suoi inviati sono andati a Tanis e i suoi messaggeri hanno raggiunto Anusis.
5 They were all confounded at a people that could not profit them: they were no help, nor to any profit, but to confusion and to reproach.	5 Tutti saranno delusi da un popolo inutile, che non è per loro né di aiuto né di utilità, ma di vergogna e d'ignominia.
6 The burden of the beasts of the south. In a land of trouble and distress, from whence come the lioness, and the lion, the viper and the flying basilisk, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels to a people that shall not be able to profit them.	6 Oracolo sugli animali del Negheb. Nel paese della tribolazione e dell'angoscia, della leonessa e del leone ruggente, della vipera e del dragone volante, trasportano sul dorso degli asini le loro ricchezze e sulla gobba dei cammelli i loro tesori a un popolo inutile.
7 For Egypt shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this: It is pride only, sit still.	7 L'aiuto dell'Egitto è vano e inutile, perciò lo chiamo: "Raab a riposo".
8 Now therefore go in and write for them upon box, and note it diligently in a book, and it shall be in the latter days for a testimony for ever.	8 Ora vieni, scrivi questo su una tavola davanti ad essi, scrivilo in un libro, affinché rimanga per il futuro una perpetua testimonianza.
9 For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children, children that will not hear the law of God.	9 Perché è un popolo ribelle, sono figli bugiardi, figli che non vogliono ascoltare la legge del Signore.
10 Who say to the seers: See not: and to them that behold: Behold not for us those things that are right: speak unto us pleasant things, see errors for us.	10 Essi dicono ai veggenti: "Non abbiate visioni", e ai profeti: "Non profetateci il vero; diteci cose piacevoli, profetateci cose fallaci,
11 Take away from me the way, turn away the path from me, let the Holy One of Israel cease from before us.	11 ritraetevi dal sentiero, stornatevi dal cammino, fate sparire davanti a noi il Santo d'Israele".
12 Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel: Because you have rejected this word, and have trusted in oppression and tumult, and have leaned upon it:	12 Perciò così parla il Santo d'Israele: "Poiché voi ripudiate questo oracolo, confidate in ciò che è perverso e tortuoso e vi appoggiate su ciò,
13 Therefore shall this iniquity be to you as a breach that falleth, and is found wanting in a high wall, for the destruction thereof shall come on a sudden, when it is not looked for.	13 perciò questa colpa sarà per voi come una breccia cadente, che fa rigonfio un alto muro, il cui crollo avviene subito, in un istante.
14 And it shall be broken small, as the potter's vessel is broken all to pieces with mighty breaking, and there shall not a sherd be found of the pieces thereof, wherein a little fire may be carried from the hearth, or a, little water be drawn out of the pit.	14 La sua frattura sarà come quella di una giara di vasaio, frantumata senza pietà, senza che si possa trovare tra i suoi frammenti neppure un coccio, con cui prendere fuoco dal focolare, o attingere acqua dalla cisterna".
15 For thus saith the Lord God the Holy One of Israel: If you return and be quiet, you shall be saved: in silence and in hope shall your strength be. And you would not:	15 Perché così parla il Signore Dio, il Santo d'Israele: "Nella conversione e nella calma sarete salvi, nella perfetta fiducia sarà la vostra forza". Ma voi non avete voluto,
16 But have said: No, but we will flee to horses: therefore shall you flee. And we will mount upon swift ones: therefore shall they be swifter that shall pursue after you.	16 anzi avete detto: "No! Noi fuggiremo su cavalli!". Ebbene fuggite, dunque! "Cavalcheremo su veloci destrieri!". Ebbene, più veloci saranno i vostri inseguitori!
17 A thousand men shall flee for fear of one: and for fear of five shall you flee, till you be left as the mast of a ship on the top of a mountain, and as an ensign upon a hill.	17 Mille si spaventeranno davanti alla minaccia di uno solo, davanti alla minaccia di cinque voi fuggirete, finché rimarrete come un'antenna sulla cima di un monte e come uno stendardo su una collina.
18 Therefore the Lord waiteth that be may have mercy on you: and therefore shall he be exalted sparing you: because the Lord is the God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.	18 Eppure il Signore attende di farvi grazia, perciò egli si erge per avere pietà di voi, perché il Signore è un Dio giusto; beati tutti quelli che confidano in lui!
19 For the people of Sion shall dwell in Jerusalem: weeping thou shalt not weep, he will surely have pity on thee: at the voice of thy cry, se soon as he shell hear, he will answer thee.	19 Sì, popolo di Sion, che abiti a Gerusalemme, non verserai più lacrime. Ti farà grazia al grido della tua supplica; quando udirà, ti risponderà.
20 And the Lord will give you spare bread, and short water: and will not cause thy teacher to flee away from thee any more, and thy eyes shall see thy teacher.	20 Il Signore vi darà il pane della tribolazione e l'acqua dell'oppressione, ma il tuo maestro non rimarrà più nascosto e i tuoi occhi vedranno il tuo maestro.
21 And thy ears shall hear the word of one admonishing thee behind thy back: This is the way, walk ye in it: and go not aside neither to the right hand, nor to the left.	21 Le tue orecchie udiranno dietro a te una parola che dice: "Questo è il cammino, seguitelo", quando dovreste andare a destra o a sinistra.
22 And thou shalt defile the plates of thy graven things of silver, and the garment of thy molten things of gold, and shalt cast them away as the uncleanness of a menstruous woman. Thou shalt say to it: Get thee hence.	22 Tu considererai come impuri i tuoi idoli rivestiti d'argento e i tuoi simulacri ammantati d'oro. Tu li rigetterai come un'immondezza, dicendo loro: "Fuori!".
23 And rain shall be given to thy seed, wheresoever thou shalt sow in the land: and the bread of the corn of the land shall be most plentiful, and fat. The lamb in that day shall feed at large in thy possession:	23 Egli concederà la pioggia per il tuo seme, che avrai seminato nel suolo; il pane, frutto della terra, sarà pingue e succulento; il tuo bestiame pascolerà in quel giorno su una vasta prateria.
24 And thy oxen, and the ass colts that till the ground, shall eat mingled pro vender as it was winnowed in the floor.	24 I buoi e gli asini che lavorano la terra mangeranno una biada salata, ventilata con la pala e il ventilabro.
25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every elevated hill rivers of running waters in the day of the slaughter of many, when the tower shall fall.	25 Su ogni alto monte e su ogni collina elevata vi saranno dei ruscelli e dei corsi d'acqua, nel giorno della grande carneficina, quando cadranno le torri.
26 And the light of the moon shall be se the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days: in the day when the Lord shall bind up the wound of his people, and shall heal the stroke of their wound.	26 Allora la luce della luna sarà come quella del sole e la luce del sole diventerà sette volte più potente -- come la luce di sette giorni -- nel giorno in cui il Signore fascerà la piaga del suo popolo e guarirà la ferita dei suoi colpi.
27 Behold the name of the Lord cometh from afar, his wrath burneth, and is heavy to bear: his lips are filled with indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire.	27 Ecco il nome del Signore viene da lontano, ardente è la sua ira, pesante il suo carico; le sue labbra sono piene di furore, la sua lingua è come un fuoco divorante.
28 His breath as a torrent overflowing even to the midst of the neck, to destroy the nations unto nothing, and the bridle of error that was in the jaws of the people.	28 Il suo soffio è come un torrente straripante, che giunge fino al collo, per vagliare le nazioni con un vaglio annientatore, e con un freno insidioso posto nelle mascelle dei popoli.
29 You shall have a song as in the night of the sanctified solemnity, and joy of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe, to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel.	29 Il vostro canto risuonerà come la notte in cui si celebra la festa; la gioia del cuore sarà come quando si parte al suono della musica per recarsi al monte del Signore, alla Rocca d'Israele.
30 And the Lord shall make the glory of his voice to be heard, and shall shew the terror of his arm, in the threatening of wrath, and the dame of devouring fire: he shall crush to pieces with whirlwind, and hailstones.	30 Il Signore farà intendere la sua voce maestosa, e mostrerà il suo braccio che colpisce nel furore della sua ira, nella fiamma del fuoco divorante, nell'uragano di pioggia e pietre di grandine.
31 For at the voice of the Lord the Assyrian shall fear being struck with the rod.	31 Perché l'Assiria tremerà alla voce del Signore, che la percuoterà con la verga.
32 And the passage of the rod shall be strongly grounded, which the Lord shall make to rest upon him with timbrels and harps, and in great battles he shall over throw them.	32 Ogni passaggio della verga sarà punizione che il Signore le farà piombare addosso. Fra tamburi e cetre, con combattimenti a mano alzata, egli combatterà contro di lei.
33 For Topheth is prepared from yesterday, prepared by the king, deep, and wide. The nourishment thereof is fire and much wood: the breath of the Lord as a torrent of brimstone kindling it.	33 Poiché è pronto da tempo il rogo, è pronto anche per il re, è profondo e largo; il fuoco e la legna abbondano, il soffio del Signore, come torrente di zolfo, lo accenderà.
