DOUAI-RHEIMSLXX
Then Job answered, and said:1 υπολαβων δε ιωβ λεγει
Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?2 τινι προσκεισαι η τινι μελλεις βοηθειν ποτερον ουχ ω πολλη ισχυς και ω βραχιων κραταιος εστιν
To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.3 τινι συμβεβουλευσαι ουχ ω πασα σοφια η τινι επακολουθησεις ουχ ω μεγιστη δυναμις
Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?4 τινι ανηγγειλας ρηματα πνοη δε τινος εστιν η εξελθουσα εκ σου
Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.5 μη γιγαντες μαιωθησονται υποκατωθεν υδατος και των γειτονων αυτου
Hell is naked before him, and there is no covering for destruction.6 γυμνος ο αδης επωπιον αυτου και ουκ εστιν περιβολαιον τη απωλεια
He stretched out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.7 εκτεινων βορεαν επ' ουδεν κρεμαζων γην επι ουδενος
He bindeth up the waters in his clouds, so that they break not out and fall down together.8 δεσμευων υδωρ εν νεφελαις αυτου και ουκ ερραγη νεφος υποκατω αυτου
He withholdeth the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud over it.9 ο κρατων προσωπον θρονου εκπεταζων επ' αυτον νεφος αυτου
He hath set bounds about the waters, till light and darkness come to an end.10 προσταγμα εγυρωσεν επι προσωπον υδατος μεχρι συντελειας φωτος μετα σκοτους
The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.11 στυλοι ουρανου επετασθησαν και εξεστησαν απο της επιτιμησεως αυτου
By his power the seas are suddenly gathered together, and his wisdom has struck the proud one.12 ισχυι κατεπαυσεν την θαλασσαν επιστημη δε ετρωσε το κητος
His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.13 κλειθρα δε ουρανου δεδοικασιν αυτον προσταγματι δε εθανατωσεν δρακοντα αποστατην
Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?14 ιδου ταυτα μερη οδου αυτου και επι ικμαδα λογου ακουσομεθα εν αυτω σθενος δε βροντης αυτου τις οιδεν οποτε ποιησει
