DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 NON entri nella raunanza del Signore alcuno che abbia i testicoli infranti o tagliati.	1 'A man must not take his father's wife; he must not withdraw the skirt of his father's cloak from her.
2 Niuno nato di pubblica meretrice entri nella raunanza del Signore; niuno de’ suoi fino alla decima generazione, entri nella raunanza del Signore.	2 'A man whose testicles have been crushed or whose male member has been cut off must not beadmitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
3 L’Ammonita, nè il Moabita, non entri nella raunanza del Signore; niuno dei lor discendenti in perpetuo, fino alla decima generazione, entri nella raunanza del Signore.	3 No half-breed may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh; not even his descendants to the tenthgeneration may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
4 Perciocchè non vennero incontro a voi con pane e con acqua, nel cammino, quando usciste di Egitto; e perchè essi condussero per prezzo contro a voi Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, di Petor di Mesopotamia, per maledirvi.	4 No Ammonite or Moabite may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh; not even his descendants tothe tenth generation may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh, and this is for all time;
5 Ma il Signore Iddio tuo non volle ascoltar Balaam; anzi il Signore Iddio tuo ti rivolse la maledizione in benedizione; perciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo ti ama.	5 since they did not come to meet you with food and drink when you were on your way out of Egypt, andeven hired Balaam son of Beor to oppose you by cursing you, from Pethor in Aram Naharaim.
6 Non procacciar giammai, in tempo di vita tua, la pace o il bene loro.	6 But Yahweh your God refused to listen to Balaam, and Yahweh your God turned the curse on you intoa blessing, because Yahweh your God loved you.
7 Non abbominar l’Idumeo; conciossiachè egli sia tuo fratello; non abbominar l’Egizio; conciossiachè tu sii stato forestiere nel suo paese.	7 Never, as long as you live, must you seek their welfare or their prosperity.
8 La terza generazione de’ figliuoli che nasceranno loro potrà entrar nella raunanza del Signore	8 'You must not regard the Edomite as detestable, for he is your brother; you must not regard theEgyptian as detestable, since you were once a foreigner in his country.
9 QUANDO tu uscirai in guerra contro a’ tuoi nemici, guardati d’ogni mala cosa.	9 The third generation of children born to these may be admitted to the assembly of Yahweh.
10 Se nel mezzo di te vi è alcuno che sia immondo per alcun accidente notturno, esca fuor del campo, e non entri dentro al campo;	10 'When you are in camp, at war with your enemies, you must avoid anything bad.
11 e in sul far della sera lavisi con acqua; e poi, come il sole sarà tramontato, egli potrà rientrar dentro al campo.	11 If any one of you is unclean by reason of a nocturnal emission, he must leave and not come backinto camp,
12 Abbi parimente un luogo fuor del campo, al quale tu esca per li tuoi bisogni.	12 but towards evening wash himself, and return to camp at sunset.
13 E abbi fra i tuoi arredi un piuolo, col quale, quando ti assetterai fuori, tu faccia un buco in terra, e poi ricopri il tuo scremento.	13 'You must have a latrine outside the camp, and go out to this;
14 Conciossiachè il Signore Iddio tuo cammini nel mezzo del tuo campo, per salvarti, e per mettere in tuo potere i tuoi nemici; perciò sia il tuo campo santo; e fa’ ch’egli non vegga alcuna bruttura in te, onde egli si rivolga indietro da te	14 you must have a trowel in your equipment and, when you squat outside, you must scrape a hole withit, then turn round and cover up your excrement.
15 NON dare il servo che sarà scampato a te d’appresso al suo signore, in man del suo signore.	15 For Yahweh your God goes about the inside of your camp to guard you and put your enemies at yourmercy. Your camp must therefore be a holy place; Yahweh must not see anything indecent there or he willdesert you.
16 Dimori appresso di te, nel mezzo di te, nel luogo ch’egli avrà scelto, in qualunque delle tue città gli aggraderà; non fargli violenza.	16 'You must not allow a master to imprison a slave who has escaped from him and come to you.
17 Non siavi alcuna meretrice d’infra le figliuole d’Israele; parimente non siavi alcun cinedo d’infra i figliuoli d’Israele.	17 Let him make his home with you and yours, wherever he pleases in whichever of your towns heprefers; you must not molest him.
18 Non recar dentro alla Casa del Signore Iddio tuo, per alcun voto, il guadagno della meretrice, nè il prezzo del cane; perciocchè amendue son cosa abbominevole al Signore Iddio tuo.	18 'There must be no sacred prostitute among the women of Israel, and no sacred prostitute among themen of Israel.
19 Non prestare ad usura al tuo fratello, nè danari, nè vittuaglia, nè cosa alcuna che si presta ad usura.	19 You must not bring the wages of a prostitute or the earnings of a 'dog' to the house of Yahweh yourGod, whatever vow you may have made: both are detestable to Yahweh your God.
20 Presta ad usura allo straniere, ma non al tuo fratello; acciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo ti benedica in tutto ciò a che metterai la mano, nel paese nel quale tu entri per possederlo.	20 'You must not lend on interest to your brother, whether the loan be of money, of food, or of anythingelse that may earn interest.
21 Quando tu avrai votato un voto al Signore Iddio tuo, non indugiar d’adempierlo; perciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo per certo te ne ridomanderebbe conto, e vi sarebbe peccato in te.	21 You may demand interest on a loan to a foreigner, but you must not demand interest from yourbrother; so that Yahweh your God may bless you in al your labours, in the country which you are about to enterand make your own.
22 E se pur tu ti astieni di far voto, non vi sarà peccato in te.	22 'If you make a vow to Yahweh your God, you must not be slack about fulfil ing it: Yahweh your Godwil certainly hold you answerable for it and you wil incur guilt.
23 Osserva, e fa’ ciò che ti sarà uscito delle labbra, secondo che volontariamente tu avrai votato al Signore Iddio tuo, come avrai pronunziato con la tua bocca.	23 If, however, you make no vow, you do not incur guilt.
24 Quando tu entrerai nella vigna del tuo prossimo, potrai a tua voglia mangiarne dell’uve a sazietà; ma non riporne nel tuo vasello.	24 Whatever passes your lips you must keep to, and the vow that you have made to Yahweh, yourgenerous God, you must fulfil.
25 Quando tu entrerai per mezzo le biade del tuo prossimo, potrai svellerne delle spighe con la mano; ma non metter la falce nelle biade del tuo prossimo	25 'If you go into your neighbour's vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you please, but you mustnot put any in your basket.
	26 If you go into your neighbour's standing corn, you may pick ears by hand, but you must not put asickle into your neighbour's corn.'
