Isaías 20

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 El año en que el general en jefe enviado por Sargón, rey de Asiria, llegó a Asdod, la atacó y la tomó,	1 The year the general-in-chief, sent by Sargon king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and stormed andcaptured it
2 en ese mismo tiempo, el Señor habló por medio de Isaías, hijo de Amós, diciendo: «Ve, despójate del sayal que llevas ceñido, y quítate las sandalias de los pies». El lo hizo así, y anduvo desnudo y descalzo.	2 at that time Yahweh spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz and said, 'Go, undo the sackcloth round yourwaist and take the sandals off your feet.' 3 El Señor dijo: «Así como mi servidor Isaías anduvo desnudo y descalzo durante tres años, como signo y presagio contra Egipto y contra Cus.	3 Yahweh then said, 'As my servant Isaiah has been walking about naked and barefoot for the last threeyears as a sign and portent for Egypt and Cush,
4 así el rey de Asiria llevará desnudos y descalzos, y con las nalgas al aire, a los cautivos de Egipto y a los deportados de Cus, jóvenes y viejos, para vergüenza de Egipto.	4 so the king of Assyria wil lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked andbarefoot, their buttocks bared, to the shame of Egypt.
5 La gente sentirá terror y vergüenza a causa de Cus, su esperanza, y a causa de Egipto, su orgullo.	5 Then they wil be afraid and ashamed of Cush their hope and Egypt their pride,
6 Y los habitantes de esta costa dirán en aquel día: «¡Ahí está nuestra esperanza, a la que acudíamos en busca de auxilio, para ser librados del rey de Asiria! Y ahora nosotros ¿cómo podremos escapar?».	6 and the inhabitants of this coast will say on that day, "Look what has happened to our hope, to those towhom we fled for help, to escape from the king of Assyria. How are we going to escape?" '
