EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Quiero darte gracias, Señor y Rey, y alabarte, Dios, mi salvador. Yo doy gracias a tu Nombre,	1 I will thank thee, O Lord and King, and praise thee, O God my Saviour: I do give praise unto thy name:
2 porque tú has sido mi protector y mi ayuda, y has librado mi cuerpo de la perdición, del lazo de la lengua calumniadora y de los labios que traman mentiras. Frente a mis adversarios, tú has sido mi ayuda y mes has librado,	2 For thou art my defender and helper, and has preserved my body from destruction, and from the snare of the slanderous tongue, and from the lips that forge lies, and has been mine helper against mine adversaries:
3 según la grandeza de tu misericordia y de tu Nombre, de las mordeduras de los que iban a devorarme, de la mano de los que querían quitarme la vida, de las muchas aflicciones que padecía,	3 And hast delivered me, according to the multitude of they mercies and greatness of thy name, from the teeth of them that were ready to devour me, and out of the hands of such as sought after my life, and from the manifold afflictions which I had;
4 del fuego sofocante que me cercaba, de las llamas que yo no había encendido,	4 From the choking of fire on every side, and from the midst of the fire which I kindled not;
5 de las entrañas profundas del Abismo, de la lengua impura, de la palabra mentirosa,	5 From the depth of the belly of hell, from an unclean tongue, and from lying words.
6 y de las flechas de una lengua maligna. Mi alma estaba al borde de la muerte, mi vida había descendido cerca del Abismo.	6 By an accusation to the king from an unrighteous tongue my soul drew near even unto death, my life was near to the hell beneath.
7 Me cercaban por todas partes y nadie me socorrías, busqué el apoyo de los hombres y no lo encontré.	7 They compassed me on every side, and there was no man to help me: I looked for the succour of men, but there was none.
8 Entonces, me acordé de tu misericordia, Señor, y de tus acciones desde los tiempos remotos, porque tú libras a los que esperan en ti y los salvas de las manos de sus enemigos.	8 Then thought I upon thy mercy, O Lord, and upon thy acts of old, how thou deliverest such as wait for thee, and savest them out of the hands of the enemies.
9 Yo hice subir desde la tierra mi oración, rogué para ser preservado de la muerte.	9 Then lifted I up my supplications from the earth, and prayed for deliverance from death.
10 Invoqué al Señor, padre de mi Señor: «No me abandones en el día de la aflicción, en el tiempo de los orgullosos, cuando estoy desamparado. Alabaré tu Nombre sin cesar y te cantaré en acción de gracias».	10 I called upon the Lord, the Father of my Lord, that he would not leave me in the days of my trouble, and in the time of the proud, when there was no help.
11 Y mi plegaria fue escuchada: tú me salvaste de la perdición y me libraste del trance difícil.	11 I will praise thy name continually, and will sing praises with thanksgiving; and so my prayer was heard:
12 Por eso te daré gracias y te alabaré, y bendeciré el nombre del Señor. (a) Den gracias al Señor, porque es bueno, porque es eterno su amor. (b) Den gracias al Dios de las alabanzas, porque es eterno su amor. (c) Den gracias al Guardián de Israel, porque es eterno su amor. (d) Den gracias al Creador del universo, porque es eterno su amor. (e) Den gracias al Redentor de Israel, porque es eterno su amor. (f) Den gracias al que congrega a los dispersos de Israel, porque es eterno su amor. (g) Den gracias al que construye su Ciudad y su Santuario, porque es eterno su amor. (h) Den gracias al que hace florecer el poderío de la casa de David. porque es eterno su amor. (i) Den gracias al que eligió como sacerdotes a los hijos de Sadoc, porque es eterno su amor. (j) Den gracias al Escudo de Abraham, porque es eterno su amor. (k) Den gracias a la Roca de Isaac, porque es eterno su amor. (l) Den gracias al Fuerte de Jacob, porque es eterno su amor. (m) Den gracias al que eligió a Sión, porque es eterno su amor. (n) Den gracias al Rey de todos los reyes, porque es eterno su amor. (o) El exaltará el poder de su pueblo, para que lo alaben todos sus fieles, los hijos de Israel, el pueblo que está cerca de él. ¡Aleluya!	12 For thou savedst me from destruction, and deliveredst me from the evil time: therefore will I give thanks, and praise thee, and bless they name, O Lord.
13 En mi juventud, antes de andar por el mundo, busqué abiertamente la sabiduría en la oración;	13 When I was yet young, or ever I went abroad, I desired wisdom openly in my prayer.
14 a la entrada del Templo, pedí obtenerla y la seguiré buscando hasta el fin.	14 I prayed for her before the temple, and will seek her out even to the end.
15 Cuando floreció como un racimo que madura, mi corazón puso en ella su alegría; mi pie avanzó por el camino recto y desde mi juventud seguí sus huellas.	15 Even from the flower till the grape was ripe hath my heart delighted in her: my foot went the right way, from my youth up sought I after her.
16 Apenas le presté un poco de atención, la recibí y adquirí una gran enseñanza.	16 I bowed down mine ear a little, and received her, and gat much learning.
17 Yo he progresado gracias a ella: al que me dio la sabiduría, le daré la gloria.	17 I profited therein, therefore will I ascribe glory unto him that giveth me wisdom.
18 Porque resolví ponerla en práctica, tuve celo por el bien y no me avergonzaré de ello.	18 For I purposed to do after her, and earnestly I followed that which is good; so shall I not be confounded.
19 Mi alma luchó para alcanzarla, fui minucioso en la práctica de la Ley, extendí mis manos hacia el cielo y deploré lo que ignoraba de ella.	19 My soul hath wrestled with her, and in my doings I was exact: I stretched forth my hands to the heaven above, and bewailed my ignorances of her.
20 Hacia ella dirigí mi alma y, conservándome puro, la encontré. Con ella adquirí inteligencia desde el comienzo, por eso no seré abandonado.	20 I directed my soul unto her, and I found her in pureness: I have had my heart joined with her from the beginning, therefore shall I not be foresaken.
21 Yo la busqué apasionadamente, por eso adquirí un bien de sumo valor.	21 My heart was troubled in seeking her: therefore have I gotten a good possession.
22 El Señor me ha dado en recompensa una lengua, y con ella lo alabaré.	22 The Lord hath given me a tongue for my reward, and I will praise him therewith.
23 Acérquense a mí los que no están instruidos y albérguense en la casa de la instrucción.	23 Draw near unto me, ye unlearned, and dwell in the house of learning.
24 ¿Por qué andan diciendo que no la tienen a pesar de estar tan sedientos de ella?	24 Wherefore are ye slow, and what say ye to these things, seeing your souls are very thirsty?
25 Yo abrí la boca para hablar: adquiéranla sin dinero;	25 I opened my mouth, and said, Buy her for yourselves without money.
26 pongan el cuello bajo su yugo, y que sus almas reciban la instrucción: ella está tan cerca que se la puede alcanzar.	26 Put your neck under the yoke, and let your soul receive instruction: she is hard at hand to find.
27 Vean con sus propios ojos con qué poco esfuerzo he llegado a encontrar un descanso tan grande.	27 Behold with your eyes, how that I have but little labour, and have gotten unto me much rest.
28 Participen de la instrucción, aun a costa de mucho dinero, y gracias a ella adquirirán oro en abundancia.	28 Get learning with a great sum of money, and get much gold by her.
29 Alégrense en la misericordia del Señor, no se avergüencen de alabarlo.	29 Let your soul rejoice in his mercy, and be not ashamed of his praise.
30 Lleven a cabo su obra antes del tiempo fijado, y él les dará la recompensa a su debido tiempo. Sabiduría de Jesús, hijo de Sirá.	30 Work your work betimes, and in his time he will give you your reward.
