1 Crónicas 9

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Todos los israelitas estaban registrados en las genealogías e inscritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá, cuando fueron deportados a Babilonia por sus infidelidades.	1 Thus, al Israel's official genealogies had been entered in the records of the kings of Israel and Judahbefore they were deported to Babylon for their infidelity.
2 Los primeros que volvieron a habitar en sus propiedades y ciudades fueron israelitas, sacerdotes, levitas y donados.	2 Now the first citizens to return to their property in their cities were the Israelites, the priests, the Levitesand the temple slaves.
3 En Jerusalén habitaron hijos de Judá, hijos de Benjamín, hijos de Efraím y de Mamassés.	3 In Jerusalem, there settled Judaeans, Benjaminites, Ephraimites and Manassehites.
4 Utay, hijo de Ammihúd, hijo de Omrí, hijo de Imrí, hijo de Baní, de los hijos de Peres, hijo de Judá.	4 Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, one of the sons of Perez son of Judah.
5 De los silonitas: Asaías, el primogénito, y sus hijos.	5 Of the descendants of Shelah: Asaiah, the first-born, and his sons.
6 De los hijos de Zéraj: Yeuel y sus hermanos: 690.	6 Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel. And six hundred and ninety of their kinsmen.
7 De los hijos de Benjamín: Sallú, hijo de Mesullam, hijo de Hodavías, hijo de Hassenuá;	7 And of the sons of Benjamin: Sal u son of Meshul am, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
8 Yibneías, hijo de Yerojam: Ela, hijo de Uzzí, hijo de Mikrí, y Mesullam, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Reuel, hijo de Yibnías,	8 Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, son of Michri; and Meshul am son of Shephatiah, son ofReuel, son of Ibnijah.
9 y sus hermanos, según sus genealogías: 956. Todos estos eran jefes de familia en sus respectivas casas paternas.	9 Their kinsmen, according to their relationship, numbered nine hundred and fifty-six. Al these men werechiefs of their families.
10 De los sacerdotes: Yedaías, Yehoyarib, Yakín,	10 Of the priests there were Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jachin,
11 Azarías, hijo de Jilquías, hijo de Mesullam, hijo de Sadoq, hijo de Merayot, hijo de Ajitub, príncipe de la Casa de Dios.	11 Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshul am, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, the chief ofthe Temple of God;
12 Adaías, hijo de Yerojam, hijo de Pasjur, hijo de Malkías; Masay, hijo de Adiel, hijo de Yajzerá, hijo de Mesullam, hijo de Mesillemit, hijo de Immer;	12 Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah; and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah,son of Meshullam, son of Meshil emith, son of Immer.
13 y sus hermanos, jefes de sus casas paternas: 1.760 hombres aptos para los ejercicios del culto de la Casa de Dios.	13 Their kinsmen, heads of families, numbered one thousand seven hundred and sixty-men expert in theministerial service of the Temple of God.
14 De los levitas: Semaías, hijo de Jassub, hijo de Azricam, hijo de Jasabías, de los hijos de Merarí.	14 Of the Levites there were Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah of the sons ofMerari,
15 Baqbacar, Herés, Galal y Mattanías, hijo de Miká, hijo de Zikrí, hijo de Asaf.	15 Bakbakar, Heresh, Galai, Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zichri, son of Asaph.
16 Abdías, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Galal, hijo de Yedutún; y Berekías, hijo de Asá, hijo de Elcaná, que habitaban en los poblados de los netofatíes.	16 Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah,who lived in the dependencies of the Netophathites.
17 Los porteros: Sallum, Aqcub, Talmón, Ajimán y sus hermanos. Sallum era el jefe;	17 The gatekeepers were Shal um, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman and their kinsmen. Shal um was the chief
18 y están hasta el presente junto a la puerta del rey, al oriente. Estos son los porteros del campamento de los hijos de Leví:	18 and is stil gatekeeper of the King's Gate to the east. They were the gatekeepers of the camps of thesons of Levi.
19 Sallum, hijo de Qoré, hijo de Ebyasaf, hijo de Coré, y sus hermanos los coreítas, de la misma casa paterna, tenían el servicio del culto como guardianes de los umbrales de la Tienda, pues sus padres habían tenido a su cargo la guardia de acceso al campamento de Yahveh.	19 Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brothers belonging to his family, theKorahites, were also in charge of the ministerial service as doorkeepers of the Tent, as their ancestors had beenkeepers of the entrance to the camp of Yahweh.
20 Antiguamente había sido su jefe Pinjás, hijo de Eleazar, con el que estaba Yahveh.	20 Formerly, Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of them -- Yahweh be with him!
21 Zacarías, hijo de Meselemías, era portero de la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro.	21 Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
22 El total de los elegidos para porteros era de 212, y estaban inscritos en sus problados. David y Samuel el vidente les habían establecido en sus cargos permanentemente.	22 Al the keepers of the gate at the thresholds were picked men; there were two hundred and twelve ofthem. They were grouped by relationship in their various vil ages. These were confirmed in office by David and Samuel the seer because of their dependability.
23 Tanto ellos como sus hijos tenían a su cargo las puertas de la Casa de Yahveh, la casa de la Tienda.	23 They and their sons continued in charge as guards of the gates of the Temple of Yahweh, the houseof the Tent.
24 Había porteros a los cuatro vientos: al oriente, al occidente, al norte y al mediodía.	24 The gatekeepers were assigned to the four sides, east, west, north and south,
25 Sus hermanos, que habitaban en sus poblados, tenían que venir periódicamente a estar con ellos durante siete días,	25 and their brothers in their vil ages were required to assist them from time to time for a week,
26 porque los cuatro jefes de los porteros eran permanentes; algunos levitas estaban al cuidado de las cámaras y de los tesoros de la Casa de Dios.	26 since the four head gatekeepers were permanently on duty. They were Levites and were in charge ofthe accommodation and supplies of the Temple of God.
27 Pasaban la noche alrededor de la Casa de Dios, pues les incumbía su vigilancia y habían de abrirla todas las mañanas.	27 They spent the night in the precincts of the Temple of God, their duties being to guard it and open itevery morning.
28 Unos tenían el cuidado de los utensilios del culto, y los contaban al meterlos y al sacarlos.	28 Some of them were in charge of the implements of worship, having to count them when they tookthem out and when they put them away.
29 Otros estaban encargados de los utensilios y de todos los instrumentos del Santuario, de la flor de harina, el vino, el aceite, el incienso y los aromas.	29 Others of them were put in charge of the implements, of al the objects in the sanctuary and of theflour, the wine, the oil, the incense and the perfume.
30 Los que hacían la mezcla para los aromas eran sacerdotes.	30 Members of the priestly caste, however, mixed the ointment for the perfume.
31 Mattitías, uno de los levitas, primogénito de Sallum el coreíta, estaba al cuidado constante de las cosas que se freían en sartén.	31 One of the Levites, Mattithiah -- he was the first-born of Shal um the Korahite -- had regular charge ofbaking operations.
32 Entre los quehatitas, sus hermanos, algunos estaban encargados de poner en filas los panes cada sábado.	32 Some of their kinsmen the Kohathites were responsible for the loaves to be set out in rows Sabbathby Sabbath.
33 Había también cantores, cabezas de familia de los levitas y moraban en las habitaciones de la Casa, exentos de servicio, pues se ocupaban de día y de noche en su ministerio.	33 In addition, there were the singers, the heads of the levitical families, who were accommodated in theTemple, free of other responsibilities because they were on duty day and night.
34 Estos son, según sus genealogías, los cabezas de familia de los levitas, jefes de sus linajes que habitaban en Jerusalén.	34 Such were the chiefs of the levitical families, according to their relationship; these lived in Jerusalem.
35 En Gabaón moraban el padre de Gabaón, Yeiel, cuya mujer se llamaba Maaká	35 Jeiel father of Gibeon lived at Gibeon and his wife was cal ed Maacah.
36 y Abdón su hijo primogénito; después, Sur, Quis, Báal, Ner, Nadab,	36 His first-born son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 Guedor, Ajyó, Zacarías y Miqlot.	37 Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah and Mikloth.
38 Miqlot engendró a Simam. También éstos habitaron en Jerusalén junto a sus hermanos y en unión con éstos.	38 Mikloth fathered Shimeam. But they, unlike their brothers, lived at Jerusalem with their brothers.
39 Ner engendró a Quis, Quis engendró a Saúl, Saúl engendró a Jonatán, Malki Súa, Abínadab y Esbáal.	39 Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.
40 Hijo de Jonatán: Merib Báal. Merib Báal engendró a Miká.	40 Son of Jonathan: Meribbaal. Meribbaal fathered Micah.
41 Hijos de Miká: Pitón, Mélek, Tajrea.	41 Sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea.
42 Ajaz engendró a Yará, Yará engendró a Alémet, Azmavet y Zimrí. Zimrí engendró a Mosá.	42 Ahaz fathered Jarah, Jarah fathered Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri; Zimri fathered Moza,
43 Mosá engendró a Binná. Refaías, hijo suyo: Elasá, hijo suyo; Asel, hijo suyo.	43 Moza fathered Binea, Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.
44 Asel tuvo seis hijos, cuyos nombres son: Azricam, su primogénito, Ismael, Searías, Obadías y Janán. Estos fueron los hijos de Asel.	44 Azel had six sons; their names were these: Azrikam his first-born, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah,Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
