| 1 Yahvé dit à Moïse: | 1 And the LORD said to Moses, |
| 2 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: Quand un homme, ou une femme, voudra se consacrer à Yahvé par le vœu de naziréat, | 2 "Say to the people of Israel, When either a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD, |
| 3 il s’abstiendra de vin et de boisson fermentée, il ne boira pas de vinaigre de vin, ni de toute autre sorte de vinaigre. Il ne boira pas de jus de raisin, il ne mangera ni raisin frais ni raisin sec. | 3 he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar made from wine or strong drink, and shall not drink any juice of grapes or eat grapes, fresh or dried. |
| 4 Tout le temps que durera son naziréat, il ne mangera rien de tout ce qui vient de la vigne, depuis les pépins jusqu’à la peau. | 4 All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, not even the seeds or the skins. |
| 5 Tout le temps que durera sa consécration, il ne se rasera pas la tête; jusqu’au jour où s’achèvera le temps de sa consécration, il sera consacré et laissera pousser librement ses cheveux. | 5 "All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall come upon his head; until the time is completed for which he separates himself to the LORD, he shall be holy; he shall let the locks of hair of his head grow long. |
| 6 Durant tout le temps de sa consécration à Yahvé, il ne s’approchera pas d’un mort, | 6 "All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he shall not go near a dead body. |
| 7 que ce soit même son père, sa mère, son frère ou sa sœur. En un mot, il ne se rendra pas impur si ceux-ci viennent à mourir, car il porte sur sa tête la consécration de son Dieu. | 7 Neither for his father nor for his mother, nor for brother or sister, if they die, shall he make himself unclean; because his separation to God is upon his head. |
| 8 Tout le temps de son naziréat, il est consacré à Yahvé. | 8 All the days of his separation he is holy to the LORD. |
| 9 Si quelqu’un tombe mort subitement à côté de lui et rend ainsi impure sa tête consacrée, il se rasera la tête le jour-même où il se purifiera, et il la rasera encore au septième jour. | 9 "And if any man dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles his consecrated head, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it. |
| 10 Le huitième jour il apportera au prêtre deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous. | 10 On the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest to the door of the tent of meeting, |
| 11 Le prêtre offrira le premier en sacrifice pour le péché et le second en holocauste, et c’est ainsi qu’il fera le rite de l’expiation pour l’impureté que cet homme a contractée à cause du mort. Ce jour-là le nazir consacrera de nouveau sa tête, | 11 and the priest shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead body. And he shall consecrate his head that same day, |
| 12 il se consacrera à Yahvé pour toute la durée de son vœu de nazir, en offrant un agneau d’un an, en sacrifice de réparation. Les jours précédents ne seront pas comptés puisque son vœu de nazir a été interrompu. | 12 and separate himself to the LORD for the days of his separation, and bring a male lamb a year old for a guilt offering; but the former time shall be void, because his separation was defiled. |
| 13 Voilà la loi concernant les nazirs. Le jour où le nazir aura accompli le temps de sa consécration, on le fera venir à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous. | 13 "And this is the law for the Nazirite, when the time of his separation has been completed: he shall be brought to the door of the tent of meeting, |
| 14 Là il offrira à Yahvé un agneau d’un an sans défaut pour l’holocauste, une brebis d’un an sans défaut pour le péché, un bélier sans défaut pour le sacrifice de communion. | 14 and he shall offer his gift to the LORD, one male lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish as a sin offering, and one ram without blemish as a peace offering, |
| 15 Il apportera aussi une corbeille de pain sans levain, des gâteaux de fleur de farine pétris dans l’huile, et des galettes sans levain arrosées d’huile, avec l’offrande et les libations habituelles. | 15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and their cereal offering and their drink offerings. |
| 16 Le prêtre les présentera devant Yahvé et offrira le sacrifice pour le péché, ainsi que l’holocauste. | 16 And the priest shall present them before the LORD and offer his sin offering and his burnt offering, |
| 17 Il offrira à Yahvé le bélier du sacrifice de communion à Yahvé avec la corbeille des pains sans levain, puis il fera l’offrande et la libation. | 17 and he shall offer the ram as a sacrifice of peace offering to the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread; the priest shall offer also its cereal offering and its drink offering. |
| 18 Alors le nazir se rasera à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous; prenant sa chevelure consacrée, il la déposera sur le feu où brûle la victime du sacrifice de communion. | 18 And the Nazirite shall shave his consecrated head at the door of the tent of meeting, and shall take the hair from his consecrated head and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offering. |
| 19 Le prêtre prendra l’épaule du bélier lorsqu’elle sera cuite; il prendra également un gâteau sans levain dans la corbeille, une galette sans levain, il les déposera dans les mains du nazir, après que celui-ci aura rasé sa tête consacrée. | 19 And the priest shall take the shoulder of the ram, when it is boiled, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazirite, after he has shaven the hair of his consecration, |
| 20 Le prêtre les balancera devant Yahvé; cette part consacrée reviendra au prêtre en plus de la poitrine qui a été balancée et du gigot que l’on a déjà mis à part. Après cela, le nazir pourra boire du vin. | 20 and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD; they are a holy portion for the priest, together with the breast that is waved and the thigh that is offered; and after that the Nazirite may drink wine. |
| 21 Voilà la loi relative au nazir lorsqu’il paye son vœu à Yahvé à l’occasion de son naziréat, en plus de ce qu’il peut faire par ailleurs. La loi des nazirs lui demande d’accomplir les vœux qu’il a faits.” | 21 "This is the law for the Nazirite who takes a vow. His offering to the LORD shall be according to his vow as a Nazirite, apart from what else he can afford; in accordance with the vow which he takes, so shall he do according to the law for his separation as a Nazirite." |
| 22 Yahvé dit encore à Moïse, | 22 The LORD said to Moses, |
| 23 pour qu’il le répète à Aaron et à ses fils: “Voici comment vous bénirez les fils d’Israël. Vous direz: | 23 "Say to Aaron and his sons, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, |
| 24 ‘Que Yahvé te bénisse et te garde! | 24 The LORD bless you and keep you: |
| 25 Que Yahvé fasse briller sur toi son visage, qu’il te prenne en grâce! | 25 The LORD make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you: |
| 26 Que Yahvé tourne vers toi son visage et te donne la paix!’ | 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. |
| 27 C’est ainsi qu’ils mettront mon Nom sur les fils d’Israël, et moi, je les bénirai.” | 27 "So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them." |
