1 Prophétie contre la Vallée de la Vision: Pourquoi donc tout ce monde monté sur les terrasses,	1 The oracle concerning the valley of vision. What do you mean that you have gone up, all of you, to the housetops,
2 ville pleine de vacarme, ville bruyante et tout en fête? Si tu as des morts, ils n’ont pas péri par l’épée, ils n’ont pas été tués au combat.	2 you who are full of shoutings, tumultuous city, exultant town? Your slain are not slain with the sword or dead in battle.
3 Tes chefs ont pris la fuite comme un seul homme, ils se sont rendus sous la menace de l’arc. Tous les tiens qu’on a ramassés étaient en fuite, on les a faits prisonniers.	3 All your rulers have fled together, without the bow they were captured. All of you who were found were captured, though they had fled far away.
4 C’est pourquoi je dis: “Détournez de moi vos regards, laissez-moi pleurer amèrement et n’insistez pas pour me consoler de ce désastre de la fille de mon peuple.”	4 Therefore I said: "Look away from me, let me weep bitter tears; do not labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people."
5 Oui, c’est un jour de défaite, d’écrasement et de désastre, qu’envoie le Seigneur, Yahvé Sabaot. Dans la Vallée de la Vision on détruit le rempart, on crie vers la montagne.	5 For the Lord GOD of hosts has a day of tumult and trampling and confusion in the valley of vision, a battering down of walls and a shouting to the mountains.
6 Élam est là avec ses flèches, ses chars et ses cavaliers, et Kir a pris son bouclier.	6 And Elam bore the quiver with chariots and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.
7 Tes plus belles vallées sont remplies de chars, leurs cavaliers sont en place devant la porte:	7 Your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen took their stand at the gates.
8 voilà Juda sans défenses! En ce jour-là vous avez tourné les yeux vers l’arsenal de la Maison-de-la-Forêt.	8 He has taken away the covering of Judah. In that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest,
9 Vous avez vu que la Cité de David avait bien des brèches. Vous avez récupéré les eaux de la piscine inférieure,	9 and you saw that the breaches of the city of David were many, and you collected the waters of the lower pool,
10 vous avez regardé de près les maisons de Jérusalem et vous en avez démoli pour renforcer le rempart.	10 and you counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.
11 Et puis vous avez creusé un réservoir entre les deux murs pour les eaux de l’ancienne piscine. Mais vous n’avez pas eu un regard pour celui qui mène ces événements, vous n’avez pas vu celui qui en a fait le projet depuis bien longtemps.	11 You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. 12 En ce jour-là le Seigneur, Yahvé Sabaot vous invitait à pleurer et à vous lamenter, à vous tondre la tête, à porter un sac autour de vos reins.	12 In that day the Lord GOD of hosts called to weeping and mourning, to baldness and girding with sackcloth;
13 Mais au lieu de cela c’est la fête, on veut s’amuser! On tue le bœuf, on égorge le mouton, on mange de la viande, on boit du vin: “Mangeons et buvons, car demain nous mourrons!”	13 and behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine. "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."
14 Voulez-vous savoir une parole que Yahvé Sabaot m’a révélée: “Cette faute ne leur sera pas pardonnée avant qu’ils ne soient morts!”	14 The LORD of hosts has revealed himself in my ears: "Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you till you die," says the Lord GOD of hosts.
15 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Yahvé Sabaot: “Va trouver ce ministre Chebna, le gouverneur du palais.	15 Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, "Come, go to this steward, to Shebna, who is over the household, and say to him:
16 Il se taille une tombe sur la hauteur, il se creuse un tombeau dans le rocher, et tu lui diras: Qu’as-tu ici, qui es-tu ici pour te tailler ainsi une tombe?	16 What have you to do here and whom have you here, that you have hewn here a tomb for yourself, you who hew a tomb on the height, and carve a habitation for yourself in the rock?
17 Voici que Yahvé te jette à terre, il t’attrape, l’ami, il t’attrape!	17 Behold, the LORD will hurl you away violently, O you strong man. He will seize firm hold on you,
18 Il te roule comme une boule et te fait rouler vers une terre lointaine. C’est là que tu mourras, l’homme aux chars de luxe, toi qui fais honte à la maison de ton maître.	18 and whirl you round and round, and throw you like a ball into a wide land; there you shall die, and there shall be your splendid chariots, you shame of your master's house.
19 Je vais te chasser de ton poste, te renvoyer de ta charge.	19 I will thrust you from your office, and you will be cast down from your station.
20 Un de ces jours j’appellerai Élyakim, le fils de Hilkiyas, mon serviteur,	20 In that day I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah,
21 je lui donnerai ton manteau, je lui mettrai ta ceinture autour des reins, je lui confierai ta charge, et il sera un père pour les habitants de Jérusalem et pour la maison de Juda.	21 and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.
22 Je lui donnerai la clé de la Maison de David, s’il ouvre, personne ne fermera, s’il ferme, personne n’ouvrira.	22 And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 Je le planterai comme un clou dans du matériau ferme, et il sera pour la maison de son père, un trône de gloire.	23 And I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father's house.
24 (À ce clou on suspendra toute la charge de la maison de son père avec ses rejetons et ses ramifications, toute la vaisselle, depuis les petites cruches jusqu’aux grandes jarres.	24 And they will hang on him the whole weight of his father's house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.
25 Mais en ce jour-là - parole de Yahvé Sabaot - le clou planté dans du matériau ferme lâchera; il tombera et tout ce qu’on avait chargé par-dessus se retrouvera par terre. Ainsi a parlé Yahvé.)	25 In that day, says the LORD of hosts, the peg that was fastened in a sure place will give way; and it will be cut down and fall, and the burden that was upon it will be cut off, for the LORD has spoken."
