Deuteronomio 13

1 E se nel mezzo di te si leverà persona che profetizzi, ovvero alcuno che dica ch' abbia avuto alcuno sogno, ovvero maraviglia alcuna,	1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 e interverrà quello ch' egli ha detto; e poi che dirà: andiamo, e seguitiamo gli dii dell' altre genti, i quali tu non conosci (e non sai);	2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 guarda che non odi le parole di quello profeta, ovver di persona che sogni; imperciochè Iddio vostro vi tenta, acciò che si vegga manifestamente se voi l'amate o non, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l'anima vostra.	3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 E Iddio vostro Signore seguitate, e lui temete; i suoi comandamenti servate, e udite la voce sua; a lui solo servirete, e a lui v'accosterete.	4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5 E quello profeta, ovvero chi dice: io feci sogni, si sarà morto; imperciochè favelló (e disse quello) per isviarvi (e per farvi partire) da Dio, vostro Signore, il quale vi trasse della terra d'Egitto (e ricomperoe) e sì vi scampoe della casa della servitù, acciò che quegli non vi faccia errare dalla via la quale ti comandò (che servassi) Iddio tuo Signore; e così farai partire il male di mezzo di te.	5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
6 E se il tuo fratello, o figliuolo della madre tua, o il figliuolo tuo o la figliuola tua, ovver la tua moglie la quale sì è una cosa teco, ovvero amico tuo il quale tu ami, ti vorranno lusingare per in gannare l'anima tua occultamente, e diranno: andia mo e serviamo (e adoriamo) gli dii d'altrui, i quali non sai tu, nè i tuoi padri;	6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 i quali iddii stanno intorno da tutte l'altre genti, le quali sono [da presso o ver] da lungi, dal principio insino alla fine della terra;	7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
8 guarda che non odi nè non credi loro, nè l'occhio tuo veggendoli ti muovi a pietade, e abbia loro misericordia;	8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
9 ma fa che immantinente gli uccida; la prima cosa che fai, fa che gli ponghi la mano adosso; e dopo te tutto il popolo gli ponga la mano adosso (e gli uccida).	9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10 Percosso colle pietre (e lapidato) sarà morto; imperciò che egli ti vuole fare partire da Dio tuo Signore, il quale ti trasse della terra d'Egitto, di casa di servitudine;	10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
11 acciò che, udendolo, tutto il popolo d'Israel si tema (e abbia paura) e non faccia giammai più cosa somigliante a questa così fatta cosa.	11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
12 E se tu udirai, [in] una delle cittadi tue le quali Iddio, tuo Signore, ti darà ad abitare, che dicano alcuni:	12 If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
13 sono usciti fuori i figliuoli del diavolo (che adorano gl'idoli) in mezzo di te, e hanno abitato nelle abitazioni delle tue cittadi, e hanno detto: andiamo, e serviamo agli dii altrui, i quali voi non conoscete (ne sapete);	13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
14 fa che tu cerchi sollicitamente, e diligente mente (ragguarda e poni mente) la verità; e se tu troverai che sia (vero e) certo quello che si dice, e questa abbominazione sia fatta,	14 Then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
15 immantenente fa che tu uccida tutti quanti coloro che abitano in quella terra colle coltella, e la cittade disfarai; e tutte le cose che vi sono entro, insino alle pecore,	15 Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
16 e che si pertiene alla massarizia, sì le raunerai nel mezzo delle piazze di quella cittade; e insieme colla cittade arderai ogni cosa, acciò che tu consumi ogni cosa a Dio tuo Signore, e sì che paja quasi come sepolcro sempremai. Ma poi non si rifarà quella cittade.	16 And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
17 E niuna di quelle cose che vi sono (abbo minevoli e illicite e scomunicate) non s'accosterà alla tua mano, acciò che Iddio si parta dall'ira del suo furore, e abbia misericordia di te, e sì ti mol tiplichi (ed egli ti faccia crescere) siccome eglì giurò (e promise) alli vostri padri,	17 And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
18 quando udirai la voce di Dio, tuo Signore, servando i suoi comandamenti, i quali io oggi ti comando (che osservi), acciò che facci quello che accetto sia (con pace) al tuo Signore Iddio (e tuo riposo).	18 When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
