1 E incomincio'li a parlare in parabole, dicendo: uno uomo piantò la vigna, e (intorno a quella) cinsela di (spine e) siepe, e cavo'li il lago, e in quella edificò la torre, e allogolla alli operatori; poscia egli se n' andò in peregrinaggio.	1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2 E nel tempo mandò uno suo servo alli operatori, ch' egli togliesse de' frutti della vigna.	2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 E loro, pigliato quello, il percossero e rimandorlo vuoto.	3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 E anco mandò a quelli uno altro servo; e loro il ferirono nel capo, e fecerli molte ingiurie.	4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5 Poscia ancora egli mandò uno altro; e loro uccisero quello, percotendo alcuni altri; e alcuni uccisero.	5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 Ma egli, etiam avendo uno figliuolo carissimo, mandò quello ultimo a loro, dicendo (tra sè): loro temeranno il mio figliuolo.	6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 Ma vedendo gli operatori, dissero l'uno all'altro: venite, uccidiamolo; e la eredità sarà nostra.	7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 E prendendolo, uccideronlo, e gittoronlo fuori della vigna.	8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 Che adunque farà il messere della vigna? Egli verrà, e ucciderà gli operatori, e ad altri darà la vigna.	9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 E non avete letto questa scrittura: la pietra che gli edificatori riprovorono, questa fu fatta (ancora) nel capo del cantone;	10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
11 fatto è questo del Signore, ed è meraviglia nelli occhi nostri?	11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12 E loro il cercavano di tenere, ma temettero la turba; onde loro conobbero ch' egli avea detto questa parabola per loro; e lasciato quello, partironsi.	12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
13 Poscia mandorono a lui alcuni de' Farisei ed Erodiani, perchè loro il prendessero nel parlare, (e poscia il calunniassero).	13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
14 Ed essendo loro venuti, gli dicono: maestro, sappiamo come sei verace, e non ti curi di alcuno; ed etiam non guardi nella faccia degli uomini, ma tu insegni in verità la via di Dio: a noi è lecito. dare il censo a Cesare, ovvero non lo daremo?	14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Ed egli, sapendo la loro astuzia, dissegli: il perchè mi tentate? portatemi quivi il denaro, che il veda.	15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 E quelli il portorono. Ed egli li disse: di cui è questa imagine e soprascrizione? E loro gli dissero: egli è di Cesare.	16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
17 Onde Iesù gli disse: rendete adunque quelle cose che sono di Cesare a Cesare, e quelle che sono di Dio a Dio. E quelli meravigliavansi sopra di lui.	17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
18 Poscia a lui vennero li Sadducei, li quali dicono non essere la resurrezione; e addomandavanlo, dicendo:	18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 Maestro, a noi scrisse Moisè, che se il fratello di alcuno morirà, il quale arà lasciata la mogliere senza figliuoli, il suo fratello pigliarà la sua mogliere, perchè egli resusciti il seme al suo fratello.	19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20 Erano adunque sette fratelli; e il primo tolse mogliere, e poscia moritte senza li eredi.	20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21 Onde il secondo tolse quella, ed etiam egli moritte; e non lasciò figliuolo. E similmente il terzo,	21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
22 e il settimo; e nullo lasciò seme. L'ultima di tutti moritte la femina.	22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
23 Nella resurrezione adunque, quando resuscitaranno, di cui di questi sarà mogliere? conciosia che sette uomini abbianla avuta per mogliere.	23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24 Onde rispondendo Iesù, dissegli: or imperò voi errate, non sapendo le Scritture, nè etiam la virtù di Dio.	24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25 Quando adunque saranno resuscitati da morte, loro non si mariteranno nè saranno maritati; ma loro saranno a modo di angeli (di Dio) in cielo.	25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
26 Non avete letto nel libro di Moisè, come resuscitano li morti? come Dio, parlandoli sopra la rovere, dissegli: io sono Iddio di Abraam, Iddio di Isaac, Iddio di Iacob?	26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Egli non è Dio de' morti, ma de' vivi. Voi adunque molto errate.	27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
28 E avendo udito uno de' Scribi loro contese, e vedendo che Iesù avea risposto bene a loro, andò a lui, addimandando quale fosse il primo di tutti li comandamenti.	28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 Onde Iesù gli rispose, come questo gli è il primo di tutti li comandamenti: odi, Israel: il Signore Iddio tuo, egli è uno Dio.	29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 E amerai il tuo Signore Iddio con tutto il cuore tuo, e con tutta l'anima tua, e con tutta la mente tua, e con tutta la virtù tua. Questo è il primo comandamento.	30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 Etiam il secondo egli è simile a quello: amerai il prossimo tuo, come te stesso. E non è alcuno altro comandamento maggiore di questo.	31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 E disse il Scriba: bene, maestro, in verità hai detto, come egli è uno Dio, e oltre lui non è altro Dio;	32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33 e come egli sia amato con tutto il cuore, e con tutto lo intelletto, e con tutta l'anima, e con tutta la forza; e che si ami il prossimo come sè stesso, questo è maggiore di tutti li sacrificii e offerte.	33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 Onde Iesù, vedendo ch' egli avea risposto sapientemente, dissegli: non sei lontano dal regno di Dio. E più alcuno non aveva audacia di addimandarlo.	34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35 E Iesù rispondendo diceva, ammaestrando nel tempio: e come dicono gli Scribi di Cristo: egli è figliuolo di David?	35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
36 Imperò ch' esso David dice nel Spirito Santo: disse il Signore al Signore mio: siedi alla mano diritta mia, insino ch' io ponga li tuoi inimici per sgabello de' tuoi piedi.	36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37 Esso adunque David dice a lui: Signore; e ond'è ch' egli è suo figliuolo? Di che molta [turba] udiva lui volentieri.	37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38 Ed egli diceva a loro nella sua dottrina: guardatevi dalli Scribi, li quali vogliono andare nelle scuole, ed essere salutati nelle piazze (del mercato),	38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
39 e sedere nelle sinagoghe nelle prime cattedre, e avere il primo sedere ne' conviti.	39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
40 Essi divorano le case delle vedove sotto ombra di prolissa (e lunga) orazione; questi riceveranno più prolisso giudicio.	40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
41 E sedendo Iesù dincontra la cassa depositoria della pecunia, guardava a qual modo la turba ponesse il denaro nella cassa; ed egli vide molti ricchi, li quali ponevano molte cose.	41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 Ma venendo una poverella vedova, pose due piccole monete che valevano uno quattrino.	42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 Di che chiamati li suoi discepoli, dissegli: in verità vi dico come questa poverella vedova ha posto più nella cassa, che non hanno fatto tutti gli altri.	43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 Imperò che tutti hanno posto nella cassa di quello che gli avanzava; ma questa ha posto della sua povertà tutto quel che lei ha avuto per il vivere suo.	44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
