1 Beato l'uomo della buona moglie; però che lo numero delli loro anni è doppio.	1 Happy the husband of a good wife, twice-lengthened are his days;
2 La femina forte diletta al suo marito, e compierae li anni della vita sua in pace.	2 A worthy wife brings joy to her husband, peaceful and full is his life.
3 Parte buona, la femina buona, nella parte di coloro che temono Iddio sarà data al marito per li fatti buoni.	3 A good wife is a generous gift bestowed upon him who fears the LORD;
4 Il buon cuore del ricco e del povero si dimostra, però che in ogni tempo il viso loro è allegro.	4 Be he rich or poor, his heart is content, and a smile is ever on his face.
5 Da tre cose temè il cuore mio, e nella quarta la faccia mia ebbe paura;	5 There are three things at which my heart quakes, a fourth before which I quail: Though false charges in public, trial before all the people, and lying testimony are harder to bear than death,
6 l'accusazione ovver prodigione della cittade; il radunamento del popolo;	6 A jealous wife is heartache and mourning and a scourging tongue like the other three.
7 calunnia falsa; sopra la morte tutte queste cose sono gravi;	7 A bad wife is a chafing yoke; he who marries her seizes a scorpion.
8 dolore di cuore, pianto di femina gelosa.	8 A drunken wife arouses great anger, for she does not hide her shame.
9 Nella femina la gelosia è flagello di lingua, comunicante a tutti.	9 By her eyelids and her haughty stare an unchaste wife can be recognized.
10 Si come il giogo de' buoi che si muove, così è la femina rea; chi la tiene è tale, qual è colui che piglia lo scorpione.	10 Keep a strict watch over an unruly wife, lest, finding an opportunity, she make use of it;
11 La femina ebriosa, ira grande; e villania e sozzura di colei non si ricoprirae.	11 Follow close if her eyes are bold, and be not surprised if she betrays you:
12 La fornicazione della femina si conoscerae nell' alzare degli occhi, e [nel] le palpebre sue.	12 As a thirsty traveler with eager mouth drinks from any water that he finds, So she settles down before every tent peg and opens her quiver for every arrow.
13 Nella figliuola non riguardosa conferma guardia; se trova l'agio, userae male sè.	13 A gracious wife delights her husband, her thoughtfulness puts flesh on his bones;
14 Da ogni irriverente guardatura d'occhi ti guarderai, e non ti maravigliare, se non cura di te.	14 A gift from the LORD is her governed speech, and her firm virtue is of surpassing worth.
15 Si come il viandante assetato, apre la bocca e ad ogni acqua prossima [beverae], e contra ad ogni palo sederae, e contro ad ogni saetta aprirae il carcasso infino che vegna meno.	15 Choicest of blessings is a modest wife, priceless her chaste person.
16 La grazia della femina sollecita diletterà al suo marito; e l'ossa sue ingrasseranno.	16 Like the sun rising in the LORD'S heavens, the beauty of a virtuous wife is the radiance of her home.
17 Il senno di colei è dono di Dio.	17 Like the light which shines above the holy lampstand, are her beauty of face and graceful figure.
18 La femina assennita è tacita; e non è mutamento nella femina savia.	18 Golden columns on silver bases are her shapely limbs and steady feet.
19 Grazia sopra grazia si è la moglie santa e onesta.	19 These two bring grief to my heart, and the third arouses my horror: A wealthy man reduced to want; illustrious men held in contempt; And the man who passes from justice to sin, for whom the LORD makes ready the sword.
20 Nullo peso (d' oro) è degno dell' anima casta.	20 A merchant can hardly remain upright, nor a shopkeeper free from sin;
21 Sì come il sole levandosi nel mondo nelle altissime cose di Dio, così è la bellezza della buona femina nell' ornamento della casa sua.
22 Lucerna risplendente in sul santo candeliere, e bellezza di viso in su la etade ferma.
23 Colonne d'oro sopra basi d' ariento, e li piedi fermi in su le piante delle femine stabili.
24 Fondamenti eterni sopra salda pietra (sono), e li comandamenti di Dio nel cuore della santa femina.
25 In due cose è contristato il mio cuore, nella terza mi venne iracundia;
26 uomo battagliere che viene meno per fame; e uomo assensato dispregiato;
27 e colui che da giustizia passa al peccato; Dio apparecchiò lui alla spada.
28 Due diversità di genti mi parvono malagevoli e pericolose; malagevolmente si spoglia il mercatante dalla negligenza, e non si giustificherae il taverniere de' peccati della lingua.
