Esodo 11

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E il Signore disse a Mosè: « Io flagellerò ancora con un'altra piaga Faraone e l'Egitto, e dopo egli vi lascerà andare, anzi vi costringerà a partire.	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'I shal inflict one more plague on Pharaoh and Egypt, after which he willet you go away. When he lets you go, he wil actually drive you out!
2 Dirai dunque a tutto il popolo di chiedere, ciascun uomo al suo amico, e ciascuna donna alla sua vicina, vasi d'argento e d'oro.	2 Now instruct the people that every man is to ask his neighbour, and every woman hers, for silver andgolden jewel ery.'
3 E il Signore farà trovar grazia al suo popolo presso gli Egiziani ». Or Mosè era in gran considerazione nel paese d'Egitto, agli occhi dei servi di Faraone e di tutto il popolo.	3 And Yahweh made the Egyptians impressed with the people, while Moses himself was a man of greatimportance in Egypt in the opinion of Pharaoh's officials and the people.
4 Egli adunque disse: « Queste cose dice il Signore: A mezzanotte io entrerò in Egitto,	4 Moses then said, 'Yahweh says this, "At midnight I shal pass through Egypt,
5 nella terra d'Egitto morrà ogni primogenito, da quello di Faraone che siede sul trono, fino a quello della schiava che sta alla macina, fino a tutti i primogeniti dei giumenti.	5 and all the first-born in Egypt wil die, from the first-born of Pharaoh, heir to his throne, to the first-bornof the slave-girl at the mill, and all the first-born of the livestock.
6 E vi sarà un gran grido per tutta la terra d'Egitto, quale non ci fu nè ci sarà mai.	6 And throughout Egypt there wil be great wailing, such as never was before, nor will be again.
7 Ma tra i figli d'Israele, dall'uomo fino alla bestia, non abbaierà nemmeno un cane, affinchè riconoscia te con qual miracolo il Signore separi gli Egiziani da Israele.	7 But against the Israelites, whether man or beast, never a dog shal bark, so that you may know thatYahweh discriminates between Egypt and Israel.
8 Allora tutti questi tuoi servi correranno da me, e in ginocchiandosi grideranno: Parti tu e tutto il popolo che ti è soggetto! Dopo ciò noi partiremo ».	8 Then all these officials of yours wil come down to me and, bowing low before me, say: Go away, youand all the people who fol ow you! After which, I shal go." ' And, hot with anger, he left Pharaoh's presence.
9 Così Mosè, pieno di sdegno, uscì dal cospetto di Faraone. Ma il Signore disse a Mosè: « Faraone non vi ascolterà, affinchè si moltiplichino i miei prodigi nella terra d'Egitto ».	9 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Pharaoh wil not listen to you, so that more of my wonders may bedisplayed in Egypt.'
10 Infatti Mosè ed Aronne fecero dinanzi a Faraone tutti i prodigi che sono stati descritti; ma il Signore indurò il cuore di Faraone, ed egli non lasciò partire i figli d'Israele dalla sua terra.	10 Moses and Aaron worked al these wonders in Pharaoh's presence, but Yahweh made Pharaohstubborn, and he did not let the Israelites leave his country.
