Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi (מכתב שני לסלוניקים) 6

1 הֲיֵשׁ בָּכֶם אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר בְּרִיבוֹ עִם־רֵעֵהוּ יָזִיד לְהָבִיא דְבַר־דִּינוֹ לִפְנֵי הָרְשָׁעִים וְלֹא לִפְנֵי הַקְּדשִׁים	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי הַקְּדשִׁים יָדִינוּ אֶת־הָעוֹלָם וְאִם־הָעוֹלָם יִדּוֹן עַל־יֶדְכֶם הַאֵינְכֶם רְאוּיִם לָדִין דִּינִים קְטַנִּים	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי נָדִין אֶת־הַמַּלְאָכִים אַף כִּי־דִבְרֵי מָמוֹנוֹת	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 וְאַתֶּם כַּאֲשֶׁר יֵשׁ־לָכֶם דִּינֵי מָמוֹנוֹת מוֹשִׁיבִים אַתֶּם אֶת־הַנֶּחֱשָׁבִים לְאַיִן בַּקָּהָל לְשֹׁפְטֵיכֶם	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 לְבָשְׁתְּכֶם אֹמֵר אֲנִי אֶת־זֹאת הֲכִי אֵין בָּכֶם חָכָם אֶחָד שֶׁיּוּכַל לְהוֹכִיחַ בֵּין אִישׁ לְאָחִיו	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 כִּי אָח רָב עִם־אָחִיו וְזֹאת לִפְנֵי לֹא־מַאֲמִינִים	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 הֵן בַּכֹּל יְרִידָה הִיא לָכֶם שֶׁתָּרִיבוּ זֶה עִם־זֶה לָמָּה לֹא תִבְחֲרוּ לִסְבֹּל הוֹנָאָה וְלָמָּה לֹא תִבְחֲרוּ לִהְיוֹת עֲשׁוּקִים	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 אֲבָל תּוֹנוּ וְתַעַשְׁקוּ אַף אֶת־אֲחֵיכֶם	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי הָרְשָׁעִים לֹא יִירְשׁוּ אֶת־מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים אַל־תַּתְעוּ אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶם לֹא הַזֹּנִים לֹא עֹבְדֵי אֱלִילִים לֹא הַמְנָאֲפִים וְלֹא הַקְּדֵשִׁים וְלֹא הַשֹּׁכְבִים אֶת־זָכָר	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 לֹא הַגַּנָּבִים וְלֹא־בֹצְעֵי בֶצַע לֹא הַסֹּבְאִים וְלֹא הַמְגַדְּפִים וְלֹא הַגַּזְלָנִים כָּל־אֵלֶּה לֹא יִירְשׁוּ אֶת־מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 וְכָאֵלֶּה לְפָנִים הָיוּ מִקְצַתְכֶם אֲבָל רֻחַצְתֶּם אֲבָל קֻדַּשְׁתֶּם אֲבָל הָצְדַקְתֶּם בְּשֵׁם הָאָדוֹן יֵשׁוּעַ וּבְרוּחַ אֱלֹהֵינוּ	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 הַכֹּל הוּא בִרְשׁוּתִי אַךְ לֹא כָל־דָּבָר יוֹעִיל הַכֹּל הוּא בִרְשׁוּתִי אַךְ לֹא יְשַׁעְבְּדֵנִי דָּבָר	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 הַמַּאֲכָל לַבֶּטֶן וְהַבֶּטֶן לַמַּאֲכָל וְהָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־זֶה וְאֶת־זֶה יְכַלֶּה וְהַגּוּף אַל־יְהִי לַזְּנוּת כִּי אִם־לָאָדוֹן וְהָאָדוֹן לַגּוּף	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 וְהָאֱלֹהִים הֵעִיר גַּם אֶת־אֲדֹנֵינוּ וְיָעִיר גַּם־אֶתְכֶם בִּגְבוּרָתוֹ	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי גּוּפֹתֵיכֶם אֵבָרֵי הַמָּשִׁיחַ הֵנָּה הֲכִי אֶקַּח אֶת־אֵבָרֵי הַמָּשִׁיחַ וְאֶעֱשֶׂה אֹתָם לְאֵבָרֵי זוֹנָה חָלִילָה	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 אוֹ הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי הַדָּבֵק בַּזּוֹנָה גּוּף אֶחָד הוּא עִמָּהּ כִּי הַכָּתוּב אֹמֵר וְהָיוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 אֲבָל הַדָּבֵק בָּאָדוֹן רוּחַ אֶחָד הוּא עִמּוֹ	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 נוּסוּ מִן־הַזְּנוּת כָּל־חֵטְא אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂה אוֹתוֹ הָאָדָם מִחוּץ לְגוּפוֹ הוּא וְהַזּוֹנֶה חֹטֵא בְּעֶצֶם גּוּפוֹ	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 אוֹ הֲלֹא־יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי גוּפְכֶם הוּא הֵיכַל רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ הַשֹּׁכֵן בְּקִרְבְּכֶם אֲשֶׁר קִבַּלְתֶּם מֵאֵת הָאֱלֹהִים וְכִי לֹא־לְעַצְמְכֶם אַתֶּם	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 כִּי בִּמְחִיר נִקְנֵיתֶם עַל־כֵּן כַּבְּדוּ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים בְּגוּפְכֶם וּבְרוּחֲכֶם אֲשֶׁר לֵאלֹהִים הֵמָּה	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
