1 Filhos de Judá: Farés, Hesron, Carmi, Hur e Sobal.	1 The descendants of Judah were: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
2 Raia, filho de Sobal, gerou Jaat; Jaat gerou Acamai e Laad. Estas são as famílias dos sareus.	2 Reaiah, the son of Shobal, became the father of Jahath, and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were the clans of the Zorathites.
3 Eis os descendentes de Abi-Etão: Jezrael, Jesema e Jedebos; o nome de sua irmã era Asalelfuni.	3 These were the descendants of Hareph, the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; their sister was named Hazzelelponi.

E Deus lhe concedeu o que tinha pedido.	10 Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: "Oh, that you may truly bless me and extend my boundaries! Help me and make me free of misfortune, without pain!" And God granted his prayer.
11 Quelub, irmão de Sua, gerou Mair, pai de Eston.	11 Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

São estes os filhos de Betia, filha do faraó, que Mered desposara.	18 His (Mered's) Egyptian wife bore Jered, the father of Gedor, Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. These were the sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married.

Estabeleceram-se em seu lugar, porque lá havia pastagens para seus rebanhos.	41 They who have just been listed by name set out during the reign of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and attacked the tents of Ham (for Hamites dwelt there formerly) and also the Meunites who were there. They pronounced against them the ban that is still in force and dwelt in their place because they found pasture there for their flocks.
42 Quinhentos homens da família de Simeão dirigiram-se também para as montanhas de Seir. Eram seus chefes: Faltias, Naarias, Rafaías e Oziel, filho de Jesi.	42 Five hundred of them (the Simeonites) went to Mount Seir under the leadership of Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi.
