1 - Al corifeo. Salmo di David. Per l'estasi (?).	1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David according to an ecstasy.
2 In te, o Signore, io spero [e mi rifugio]: ch' io non resti confuso giammai! Per la tua giustizia scampami;	2 In you, Lord, I have hoped; let me never be confounded. In your justice, deliver me.
3 piega verso di me il tuo orecchio, t'affretta a liberarmi. Sii per me un Dio protettore e un asilo di rifugio per trarmi in salvo.	3 Incline your ear to me. Hasten to rescue me. Be for me a protector God and a house of refuge, so as to accomplish my salvation.
4 Chè la mia fortezza e il mio rifugio se' tu, e per il tuo nome mi guiderai e sosterrai.	4 For you are my strength and my refuge; and for the sake of your name, you will lead me and nourish me.
5 Mi trarrai fuor dal laccio, che nascostamente m'han teso, perché tu sei il mio protettore.	5 You will lead me out of this snare, which they have hidden for me. For you are my protector.
6 Nelle tue mani raccomando lo spirito mio; tu mi libererai, o Signore, Dio di verità.	6 Into your hands, I commend my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Lord, God of truth.
7 Tu hai in odio gli adoratori di vanità mendaci; ma nel Signore io spero!	7 You have hated those who practice emptiness to no purpose. But I have hoped in the Lord.
8 Esulterò e andrò lieto del tuo favore, poichè tu avrai guardato alla mia miseria, avrai salvato dalle angustie l'anima mia,	8 I will exult and rejoice in your mercy. For you have looked upon my humility; you have saved my soul from needfulness.
9 nè m'avrai consegnato tra le mani del nemico, [ma] avrai stabilito al largo i miei piedi.	9 And you have not enclosed me in the hands of the enemy. You have set my feet in a spacious place.
10 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, chè sono in angustia; è consunto dall'affanno l'occhio mio, l'anima mia e le mie viscere.	10 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am troubled. My eye has been disturbed by wrath, along with my soul and my gut.
11 Perché nel duolo si consuma l'anima miae gli anni miei ne' gemiti, s'è fiaccato nella miseria il mio vigore, e infrollite son le mie ossa.	11 For my life has fallen into sorrow, and my years into sighing. My virtue has been weakened in poverty, and my bones have been disturbed.
12 Per tutti i miei nemici son diventati un obbrobrio, e a' miei vicini un vituperio, e spavento a' miei conoscenti: quei che mi vedon fuori, fuggon via da me.	12 I have become a disgrace among all my enemies, and even more so to my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances. Those who catch sight of me, flee away from me.
13 Son dimenticato, quasi un morto, dal cuor [loro], son ridotto come un vaso guasto.	13 I have become forgotten, like one dead to the heart. I have become like a damaged utensil.
14 Poichè sento lo sparlar di moltiche mi stanno intorno; mentre insieme si radunan contro di me, di toglier la mia vita congiurano.	14 For I have heard the harsh criticism of many who linger in the area. While assembled together against me in that place, they deliberated on how to take away my life.
15 Ma io spero in te, o Signore. Dico: «Il mio Dio se' tu!».	15 But I have hoped in you, O Lord. I said, “You are my God.”
16 Nelle tue mani son le mie sorti; liberami dalla mano de' miei nemicie da' miei persecutori.	16 My fate is in your hands. Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who are persecuting me.
17 Fa' risplender il tuo volto sul servo tuo, salvami nella tua misericordia.	17 Shine your face upon your servant. Save me in your mercy.
18 Signore, ch' io non sia confuso perché t'invoco; sian svergognati gli empi e tratti giù negli Inferi.	18 Do not let me be confounded, Lord, for I have called upon you. Let the impious be ashamed and be drawn down into Hell.
19 Ammutoliscon le labbra ingannatrici, che parlan contro il giusto cose inique, con orgoglio e disprezzo.	19 May deceitful lips be silenced: those that speak iniquity against the just, in arrogance and in abusiveness.
20 Quanto grande è l'abbondanza della tua benignità, o Signore, che tieni in serbo per quei che ti temono, [e] hai preparato per coloro che sperano in te, al cospetto de' figliuoli degli uomini!	20 How great is the multitude of your sweetness, O Lord, which you keep hidden for those who fear you, which you have perfected for those who hope in you, in the sight of the sons of men.
21 Tu li ripari nel rifugio della tua presenza, da [ogni] trambusto di uomini; tu li proteggi, nel tuo padiglione, da accanimenti di lingue.	21 You hide them in the concealment of your face, from the disturbance of men. You protect them in your tabernacle, from the contradiction of tongues.
22 Sia benedetto il Signore, che ha reso mirabile la sua misericordia per me, [mettendomi al sicuro, quasi] in città fortificata.	22 Blessed is the Lord. For he has shown his wonderful mercy to me, in a fortified city.
23 Io dicevo nel mio delirio: «Son rigettato lungi dalla vista de' tuoi occhi!». Ma tu hai ascoltato la voce della mia supplica, quand'io gridavo a te.	23 But I said in the excess of my mind: “I have been cast away from the glance of your eyes.” And so, you heeded the voice of my prayer, while I was still crying out to you.
24 Amate il Signore, o voi tutti suoi fedeli, perchè il Signore la fedeltà ricerca, e ripaga con abbondanza quei che fanno superbia!	24 Love the Lord, all you his saints. For the Lord will require truth, and he will abundantly repay those who act with arrogance.
25 Diportatevi virilmente e si conforti il cuor vostro, o voi tutti che sperate nel Signore!	25 Act manfully, and let your heart be strengthened, all you who hope in the Lord.
