1 Corinthians 9

1 Am I not free? Am I not an Apostle? Have I not seen Christ Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?	1 Non son io libero (e franco)? Non son io apostolo? Non vidi io il nostro Signore Iesù Cristo? Non siete voi la mia opera nel Signore?
2 And if I am not an Apostle to others, yet still I am to you. For you are the seal of my Apostleship in the Lord.	2 E poniamo che io all' altre genti non sia apostolo, ma ben so che voi siete il segnacolo del mio apostolato nel Signore.
3 My defense with those who question me is this:	3 Chè la mia defensione, a coloro che mi domandano, sì è questa.
4 Do we not have the authority to eat and to drink?	4 Non avemo noi signorìa di manducare e di bere?
5 Do we not have the authority to travel around with a woman who is a sister, just as do the other Apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?	5 E non avemo signoria di pigliare mogliere, secondo che li altri apostoli e fratelli del Signore, e secondo che Pietro?
6 Or is it only myself and Barnabas who do not have the authority to act in this way?	6 Son io pur solo e Barnaba, che non avemo podestà ad operare queste cose?
7 Who has ever served as a soldier and paid his own stipend? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat from its produce? Who pastures a flock and does not drink from the milk of the flock?	7 E chi è quelli che alle sue spese voglia servire (al Signore da niuno tempo)? E quale è quello che pianta la vigna, e non manduca del suo frutto? E chi pasce le turme delle pecore e non manduca del latte loro?
8 Am I saying these things according to man? Or does the law not also say these things?	8 Dicole io forse queste cose, secondo che uomo? È questo nella legge.
9 For it is written in the law of Moses: “You shall not bind the mouth of an ox, while it is treading out the grain.” Is God here concerned with the oxen?	9 Chè egli è scritto nella legge di Moisè, che non sia legata la bocca del bue che lavora. Ora è cura a Dio delli buoi?
10 Or is he saying this, indeed, for our sake? These things were written specifically for us, because he who plows, ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes, too, in hope of receiving the produce.	10 Ovver dicelo egli per noi? Certo per noi (il dice e per noi) è scritto: imperò che quelli che ara dee arare con speranza (d' avere bene), e quelli che batte nell' aia sì batte con speranza d'avere frutto.
11 If we have sown spiritual things in you, is it important if we harvest from your worldly things?	11 Adunque se noi a voi avemo seminate le cose spirituali, è egli grande cosa se noi riceviamo le carnali?
12 If others are sharers in this authority over you, why are we not more entitled? And yet we have not used this authority. Instead, we bear all things, lest we give any hindrance to the Gospel of Christ.	12 E se gli altri hanno signoria sopra voi, molto maggiormente noi; ma noi non avemo usata questa signoria, ma tutte le cose si sofferiamo per non dare (piccolo) offendimento all'evangelio di Cristo.
13 Do you not know that those who work in the holy place eat the things that are for the holy place, and that those who serve at the altar also share with the altar?	13 E non sapete voi, che quelli che operano nel sacrario, che manducano di quelle cese che son del sacrario, e coloro che servono all' altare sì partècipano all' altare?
14 So, too, has the Lord ordained that those who announce the Gospel should live by the Gospel.	14 E così il Signore ordinò, che quelli che annunziano l' evangelio si debbano vivere dell' evangelio (e della predicazione).
15 Yet I have used none of these things. And I have not written so that these things may be done for me. For it is better for me to die, rather than to let anyone empty out my glory.	15 Ma io non ho usata alcuna di queste cose; e non scrissi questo perchè sia fatto a me; chè a me fia meglio che io mora, che alcuno invanisca la mia gloria.
16 For if I preach the Gospel, it is not glory for me. For an obligation has been laid upon me. And woe to me, if I do not preach the Gospel.	16 Che se io averò a evangelizzare, non è a me per gloria; chè la necessità mi costrinse; e guai a me, se io non averò a evangelizzare!
17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward. But if I do this reluctantly, a dispensation is granted to me.	17 E se io questo faccio volentieri, ho mercede; ma se io evangelizzo come forzato, e la spesa m'è data, che mercede n'abbo?
18 And what, then, would be my reward? So, when preaching the Gospel, I should give the Gospel without taking, so that I may not misuse my authority in the Gospel.	18 Adunque (sine sumptu, idest) senza lucro temporale predicherò l' evangelio di Cristo, acciò che non venga a usar male la autoritade a me concessa in l'evangelio.
19 For when I was a free man to all, I made myself the servant of all, so that I might gain all the more.	19 E certo, essendo io libero e franco, sì mi feci servo d'ogni uomo, per guadagnare molti alla fede.
20 And so, to the Jews, I became like a Jew, so that I might gain the Jews.	20 E fecimi a' iudei secondo che iudeo, per guadagnare li iudei;
21 To those who are under the law, I became as if I were under the law, (though I was not under the law) so that I might gain those who were under the law. To those who were without the law, I became as if I were without the law, (though I was not without the law of God, being in the law of Christ) so that I might gain those who were without the law.	21 e a coloro, ch' erano sotto la legge, come io fossi sotto la legge, per guadagnare coloro che v'erano; e a coloro che senza legge sono, sì mi feci come se io fossi senza legge, per guadagnare coloro che stanno senza legge.
22 To the weak, I became weak, so that I might gain the weak. To all, I became all, so that I might save all.	22 Son fatto infermo agl' infermi, acciò io guadagnassi gl' infermi. E son fatto tutte cose [a tutti], per fare ogni uomo salvo.
23 And I do everything for the sake of the Gospel, so that I may become its partner.	23 Tutte le cose faccio per l' evangelio, perchè io sia partecipe dell' evangelio.
24 Do you not know that, of those who run in a race, all of them, certainly, are runners, but only one achieves the prize. Similarly, you must run, so that you may achieve.	24 Non sapete voi, che coloro che corrono nel corso del palio, e tutti corrono, e pure uno ha il palio? E così voi correte, che voi abbiate.
25 And one who competes in a contest abstains from all things. And they do this, of course, so that they may achieve a corruptible crown. But we do this, so that we may achieve what is incorruptible.	25 E ogni uomo, che contende nella battaglia, da tutte le cose si guardano; e certo se questi il fanno, che debbono ricevere una corruttibile corona, molto maggiormente noi che la riceveremo (sempiternale e) incorruttibile.
26 And so I run, but not with uncertainty. And so I fight, but not by flailing in the air.	26 Adunque io così corro, non come uomo incerto; e così combatto, non come quello che batte l'aere.
27 Instead, I chastise my body, so as to redirect it into servitude. Otherwise, I might preach to others, but become myself an outcast.	27 E castigo il corpo mio, e recolo a servitudine; chè per la ventura, predicando io ad altrui, non diventassi reprobo (e perchè io non fossi da Dio rifiutato).
