1 And so, brothers, when I came to you, announcing to you the testimony of Christ, I did not bring exalted words or lofty wisdom.	1 Moi-même, frères, quand je suis allé chez vous pour vous annoncer le mystérieux projet de Dieu, je ne suis pas venu comme un beau parleur ou un intellectuel.
2 For I did not judge myself to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.	2 Avec vous, je voulais être seulement celui qui connaît Jésus, le Messie, et Messie crucifié.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and with much trembling.	3 Et pour mon compte je me suis senti faible au milieu de vous, j’avais des craintes et je tremblais quelque peu.
4 And my words and preaching were not the persuasive words of human wisdom, but were a manifestation of the Spirit and of virtue,	4 Je n’avais pas de grands mots, ni de discours bien arrangés pour vous dire mon message, et pourtant ce fut une démonstration d’Esprit et de puissance.
5 so that your faith would not be based on the wisdom of men, but on the virtue of God.	5 Car il fallait que votre foi s’appuie, non sur la sagesse humaine, mais sur la force de Dieu.
6 Now, we do speak wisdom among the perfect, yet truly, this is not the wisdom of this age, nor that of the leaders of this age, which shall be reduced to nothing.	6 Il est vrai que nous parlons sagesse avec les parfaits, mais cette sagesse n’est pas de ce monde et ne vient pas des grands de ce monde, puisqu’ils sont éliminés.
7 Instead, we speak of the wisdom of God in a mystery which has been hidden, which God predestined before this age for our glory,	7 Nous enseignons le mystère de la sagesse divine, c’est-à-dire le plan secret que Dieu a formé dès le commencement pour nous mener jusqu’à la gloire.
8 something that none of the leaders of this world have known. For if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.	8 Cette sagesse, aucun des grands de ce monde ne l’a connue. S’ils l’avaient connue, ils n’auraient pas crucifié le Seigneur de la Gloire.
9 But this is just as it has been written: “The eye has not seen, and the ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, what things God has prepared for those who love him.”	9 Rappelez-vous qu’il est écrit: Des choses que l’œil n’a pas vues, que pas une oreille n’a entendues, qui ne sont venues à l’esprit de personne; les choses que Dieu a préparées pour ceux qui l’aiment.
10 But God has revealed these things to us through his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.	10 Mais à nous, Dieu nous l’a révélé par l’Esprit, car l’Esprit explore tout, jusqu’aux profondeurs de Dieu.
11 And who can know the things that are of a man, except the spirit which is within that man? So also, no one knows the things which are of God, except the Spirit of God.	11 Voyez: personne ne nous connaît comme notre propre esprit, parce qu’il est en nous. De même, personne ne connaît les choses de Dieu sinon l’Esprit de Dieu.
12 But we have not received the spirit of this world, but the Spirit who is of God, so that we may understand the things that have been given to us by God.	12 Et ce n’est pas l’esprit du monde que nous avons reçu, mais l’Esprit qui vient de Dieu, de sorte qu’il nous fait connaître ce que nous avons reçu de Dieu.
13 And we are also speaking of these things, not in the learned words of human wisdom, but in the doctrine of the Spirit, bringing spiritual things together with spiritual things.	13 Voilà ce dont nous parlons, non pas en termes convenus de la sagesse humaine, mais avec ceux que nous enseigne l’Esprit, et nous interprétons ce qui est spirituel pour ceux qui sont des spirituels.
14 But the animal nature of man does not perceive these things that are of the Spirit of God. For it is foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand it, because it must be examined spiritually.	14 Celui qui ne connaît que la raison n’accepte pas ce qui vient de l’Esprit de Dieu. Pour lui, ce sont des bêtises, et il ne peut pas les apprécier parce qu’il faut pour cela des critères spirituels.
15 But the spiritual nature of man judges all things, and he himself may be judged by no man.	15 Par contre, celui qui est un spirituel peut juger de tout et personne ne peut le juger. Rappelez-vous cette parole:
16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, so that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.	16 Qui connaît la façon de penser du Seigneur, qui lui donnera des conseils? Et justement, nous avons la façon de penser du Christ.
