Micah 3

1 And I said: Listen, leaders of Jacob and chiefs of the house of Israel. Does it not belong to you to know judgment,	1 Poi io dissi: "Ascoltate, capi di Giacobbe, magistrati della casa d'Israele! Non spetta forse a voi il diritto?
2 you who hold hatred for good, and love evil, who violently steal their skins from over them and their flesh from over their bones?	2 Nemici del bene e amici del male, voi strappate loro la pelle di dosso, la carne dalle loro ossa".
3 They have devoured the flesh of my people, and have stripped their skin from over them, and they have shattered and chopped their bones, as if for the kettle, and like flesh in the middle of the pot.	3 Essi divorano la carne del mio popolo, e spezzano loro le ossa; li squartano come carne nella marmitta, come carne nella pentola.
4 Then they will cry out to the Lord, and he will not heed them. And he will hide his face from them in that time, just as they have acted wickedly with their inventions.	4 Allora grideranno al Signore, ma non risponderà loro; egli volgerà altrove la faccia, a causa dei delitti che han commesso!
5 Thus says the Lord about the prophets who seduce my people: They bite with their teeth and preach peace, and if anyone does not give something to their mouth, they sanctify a battle against him.	5 Così parla il Signore contro i profeti che fanno deviare il suo popolo: Se han qualcosa da mettere tra i loro denti essi proclamano la pace. Ma a chi non mette loro niente in bocca essi dichiarano la guerra!
6 Because of this, night will be yours for vision, and darkness yours for divination, and the sun will meet with death over the prophets, and the day will be darkened over them.	6 Perciò c'è notte per voi: niente visione; per voi le tenebre: niente divinazione; il sole tramonta per i profeti e il giorno si oscura su di loro.
7 And those who see visions will be confounded, and the diviners will be confounded. And they will all cover their faces, because there is no response from God.	7 I veggenti saranno ricoperti di vergogna, e chi spiega gli oracoli di confusione; si copriranno la barba tutti quanti, perché non c'è risposta del Signore!
8 Nevertheless, truly I have been filled with the strength of the Spirit of the Lord, with judgment and virtue, in order to announce to Jacob his wickedness and to Israel his sin.	8 Io invece sono ripieno di forza, dello spirito del Signore, di giustizia e coraggio per annunziare a Giacobbe il suo delitto, a Israele il suo peccato!
9 Hear this, leaders of the house of Jacob and judges of the house of Israel, you who abominate judgment and who pervert all that is right.	9 Ascoltate dunque questo, capi della casa di Giacobbe, funzionari della casa d'Israele, voi che avete in abominio il diritto e pervertite quello che è retto;
10 You build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.	10 che costruite Sion col sangue e Gerusalemme col delitto!
11 Her leaders have judged for tributes, and her priests have taught for payment, and her prophets divined for money. And they leaned upon the Lord, saying: “Is not the Lord in our midst? No disaster will overcome us.”	11 I suoi capi fanno giustizia per regali e i suoi sacerdoti decidono dietro compenso; i suoi profeti vaticinano per denaro; si appoggiano sul Signore dicendo: Il Signore non è forse in mezzo a noi? La sventura non verrà su di noi!
12 For this reason, because of you, Zion will be plowed under like a field, and Jerusalem will become like a pile of stones, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of the forests.	12 Perciò, per colpa vostra, Sion sarà un campo da arare, Gerusalemme sarà un mucchio di rovine e la montagna del tempio un'altura selvaggia!
