Isaiah 11

1 And a rod will go forth from the root of Jesse, and a flower will ascend from his root.	1 Una verga uscirà della radice di Iesse, e uno fiore salirà di quella radice.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and fortitude, the spirit of knowledge and piety.	2 E riposerassi sopra di lui lo spirito del Signore; lo spirito della sapienza e dello intelletto, lo spirito del consiglio e della fortezza, lo spirito della scienza e della pietà.
3 And he will be filled with the spirit of the fear of the Lord. He will not judge according to the sight of the eyes, nor reprove according to the hearing of the ears.	3 E lo spirito lo riempierà del timore di Dio. Non giudicherà secondo la visione degli occhi, e non riprenderà secondo l' udito delle orecchie.
4 Instead, he will judge the poor with justice, and he will reprove the meek of the earth with fairness. And he will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and he will slay the impious with the spirit of his lips.	4 Ma giudicherà li poveri secondo la giustizia, e riprenderalli con diritto per li mansueti della terra; e percoterà la terra colla verga della sua bocca, e con lo spirito delle sue labbra sì ucciderà lo malvagio.
5 And justice will be the belt around his waist. And faith will be the warrior’s belt at his side.	5 E la giustizia sarà lo cingolo delli suoi lombi; e la fede sarà cingolo delle sue reni.
6 The wolf will dwell with the lamb; and the leopard will lie down with the kid; the calf and the lion and the sheep will abide together; and a little boy will drive them.	6 E lo lupo abiterà collo agnello, e lo leopardo giacerà con lo capretto; lo leone e lo vitello e la pecora staranno insieme, e lo fanciullo piccolo li menerà (fuori del bosco).
7 The calf and the bear will feed together; their young ones will rest together. And the lion will eat straw like the ox.	7 Lo vitello e l'orso pasceranno insieme, e li loro figliuoli si riposeranno insieme; e lo leone mangerà la paglia quasi come lo bove.
8 And a breastfeeding infant will play above the lair of the asp. And a child who has been weaned will thrust his hand into the den of the king snake.	8 E il fanciullo della poppa si diletterà di porre la mano sopra la tana dell' aspide; e quello che sarà slattato porrà la mano sua nella caverna del regulo (cioè del serpente).
9 They will not harm, and they will not kill, on all my holy mountain. For the earth has been filled with the knowledge of the Lord, like the waters covering the sea.	9 Non nuoceranno e non uccideranno in tutto lo monte [mio] santo; però che la terra è piena della scienza di Dio, sì come cuopre l'acque del mare.
10 In that day, the root of Jesse, who stands as a sign among the people, the same the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulcher will be glorious.	10 In quel dì pregaranno le genti quella radice di Iesse, che istà per segno de' populi; e il suo sepolcro sarà glorioso.
11 And this shall be in that day: the Lord will send forth his hand a second time to take possession of the remnant of his people who will be left behind: from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.	11 E sarà in quel dì, che lo Signore aggiugnerà la seconda volta la sua mano a possedere lo rimanente del suo popolo, lo quale sarà abbandonato da quelli di Siria e di Egitto, e da quelli di Fetros e da quelli di Etiopia e da quelli di Elam e da quelli di Sennaar e da quelli di Emat e dalle isole del mare.
12 And he will lift up a sign to the nations, and he will gather together the fugitives of Israel, and he will collect the dispersed of Judah from the four regions of the earth.	12 E (lo Signore) alzerà lo segno nelle nazioni, e radunerà li fuggitivi d' Israel, e radunerà li dispersi di Giudea di quattro parti della terra.
13 And the envy of Ephraim will be taken away, and the enemies of Judah will perish. Ephraim will not be a rival to Judah, and Judah will not fight against Ephraim.	13 E lo zelo di Efraim sarà tolto, e li inimici di Giuda periranno; e Efraim non stimularà Giuda,
14 And they will fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines through the sea; together they will plunder the sons of the east. Idumea and Moab will be under the rule of their hand, and the sons of Ammon will be obedient.	14 E voleranno nelli omeri de' Filistei per lo mare, e insieme ruberanno gli figliuoli d' oriente; Idumea e Moab lo comandamento della loro mano e li figliuoli di Ammon saranno ubbidienti.
15 And the Lord will desolate the tongue of the sea of Egypt. And he will lift up his hand over the river, with the strength of his Spirit; and he will strike it, in its seven streams, so that they may cross through it in their shoes.	15 E lo Signore desolerà la lingua del mare di Egitto, e alzerà la sua mano sopra lo fiume nella fortezza del suo spirito; e percoterallo in rivi sette, sì che passino per quello i calzati.
16 And there will be a way for the remnant of my people, who will be left behind by the Assyrians: just as there was for Israel in the day that he ascended from the land of Egypt.	16 E la via sarà al rimanente del popolo mio, il quale sarà abbandonato da quelli di Siria, sì come fu ad Israel nel dì che salì della terra di Egitto.
