1 Thus, she reaches mightily from one end all the way to the other, and she orders all things sweetly.	1 Ella dunque aggiugne dalla fine alla fine, e dispone soavemente (e fortemente) tutte le cose.
2 I have loved her and searched for her from my youth, and have asked to take her to me as my spouse, and I became a lover of her form.	2 Io amai costei, e cercaine infino della giovinezza mia; e cercai di torla per mia sposa, e sono fatto amatore della sua bellezza.
3 She glorifies her lineage by having companionship with God; yes and of all things, the Lord loves her.	3 L'uso di Dio glorifica la sua nobiltade; e Iddio di tutte le opere amoe lei.
4 For she teaches the teaching of God and is the chooser of his works.	4 Ella è (maestra e) dottrinante della scienza di Dio, e sì è eleggitrice delle opere di colui.
5 And if riches are longed for in life, what is richer than wisdom, which is being served in all things?	5 E se in la vita amate sono le ricchezze, qual cosa è più ricca che la sapienza, la quale opera tutte le cose?
6 But if the mind is to be served, who, of all that exists, is a greater artisan than she?	6 Se il senno adopera tutte le cose, qual è di queste cose, che sono, più artefice (di quelle) della sapienza?
7 And if anyone loves justice, her labors hold great virtues; for she teaches temperance and prudence, justice and virtue, and nothing is more useful in human life.	7 E se alcuno ama la giustizia, le operazioni della sapienza hanno in ciò grande virtude; però che insegna temperanza e prudenza, e virtude e giustizia, delle quali nulla è meglio alli uomini nella loro vita.
8 And if one desires a multitude of knowledge, she knows the past and forecasts the future; she knows the subtleties of conversation and the response to arguments; she understands the signs and portents, before the events take place, events both of the present time and of future ages.	8 E se alcuno desidera grande moltitudine di scienza, sae le cose passate, ed estima di quelle che sono a venire; egli sae le malizie e ingegni delli uomini, e sae dissolvere li argomenti; e sae (gl' ingegni delli uomini e) le cose che debbono venire inanzi che sieno, e li avvenimenti delli tempi e delli secoli.
9 Therefore, I resolved to take her to me to live together, knowing that she will be a good counselor and will console my thoughts and my weariness.	9 Io mi proposi di menare al mio convito la sapienza, sapiendo ch' ella comunicherae meco dei beni, e sarae uno alleggiamento e conforto del mio pensiero e del mio increscimento.
10 Because of her, I have clarity in the midst of confusion, and honor among the elders in my youth;	10 Io hoe per costei claritade appo li popoli, e onore appo li vecchii, giovane.
11 and I will be found to be astute in judgment, and will be admired in the sight of the mighty, and the faces of leaders will wonder at me.	11 Acuto (e bene disposto) sarò trovato nel giudicio, e sarò mirabile nel conspetto de' potenti; e le faccie de' principi si maraviglieranno di me.
12 When I am silent, they will wait for me; when I speak, they will respect me; and when I talk for too long, they will put their hands on their mouths.	12 Loro sosteneranno me tacente, e guarderanno me parlante; e porranno la sua mano in su la sua bocca, quando sermoneroe più cose.
13 Thus, by means of her, I will have immortality, and I will bequeath an everlasting memorial to those who come after me.	13 Per costei avrò immortalitade, e a quelli che saranno dopo me eterna memoria.
14 I will set the peoples in order, and nations will be subject to me.	14 (Io per lei) ordinerò li popoli; e le genti saranno sottoposte a me.
15 Hearing me, terrible kings will be afraid; to the multitude, I will be seen as good and valiant in war.	15 Li re che mi ascolteranno temeranno me, (e temeranno me) li re terribili; e appariroe nella moltitudine buono, e nella battaglia forte.
16 When I go into my house, I will repose myself with her, for her conversation has no bitterness, nor her company any tediousness, but only joy and gladness.	16 Ed entrando in casa mia, mi riposerò con lei; la sua conversazione non hae amaritudine; il suo convento non ha fastidio, ma letizia e gaudio.
17 Thinking these things within myself, and recalling in my heart that immortality is the intention of wisdom,	17 Pensando queste cose appo me, e commemorando nel cuore mio, che la sapienza è immortale in lo intelletto e conoscimento,
18 and that in her friendship is good enjoyment, and in the works of her hands are honors without flaw, and in debate with her is understanding, and glory in sharing conversation with her; I went about seeking, so that I might take her to myself.	18 e che nella sua amistade è buona dilettazione, e che nell' opere delle mani sue sì è (amistade e) onestade sanza difetto, e che nel contendimento del suo parlare è sapienza, e molto grande chiarezza nella comunicazione de' suoi sermoni; io cercando andava d' intorno per tormela.
19 For I was an ingenious boy and had been dealt a good soul.	19 Io era fanciullo ingegnoso, e hoe acquistata buona anima.
20 Even more so, being good, I came to have an undefiled body.	20 E allora che io era più buono, venni allo corpo non corrotto.
21 And since I know that it is not possible to be chaste except as a gift from God, and that it is a point of wisdom to know whose gift it is, I approached the Lord, and I besought him, and I said with my whole heart:	21 E quando seppi che io non poteva essere altrimenti continente, se Iddio non lo dà; e che questa medesima cosa era dalla sapienza, per sapere di cui era questo dono; andai a Dio, e pregai lui, e dissi con tutto il mio cuore:
