1 Now it happened that, after the course of a year, in the time when kings usually go forth to war, Joab gathered an army with experienced soldiers, and he laid waste to the land of the sons of Ammon. And he continued on and besieged Rabbah. But David was staying in Jerusalem when Joab struck Rabbah and destroyed it.	1 E dopo uno anno, in quello tempo che i re sogliono andare alla battaglia, Ioah congregò lo esercito e la fortezza della milizia, e disfece per guasto la terra de' figliuoli d' Ammon; e andò e assediò Rabba; e David era in Ierusalem, quando Ioab percosse Rabba, e disfecela.
2 Then David took the crown of Milcom from his head, and he found in it the weight of one talent of gold, and very precious gems. And he made for himself a diadem from it. Also, he took the best spoils of the city, which were very many.	2 E tolse David la corona di Melcom del capo suo, e trovò in quella oro che pesoe uno talento, e gemme preziose, e fecene una corona a sè; e tolse molte cose della città.
3 Then he led away the people who were in it. And he caused plows, and sleds, and iron chariots to go over them, so much so that they were cut apart and crushed. So did David treat all the cities of the sons of Ammon. And he returned with all his people to Jerusalem.	3 Il popolo, ch' era in quella, trasse fuori; e fece sopra loro tribuli e trofei, e fece passare sopra di loro carra ferrate, in tal modo che gli tagliava e minuzzava; e così fece David a tutte le cittadi de' figliuoli di Ammon; e con tutto il suo popolo si ritornò in Ierusalem.
4 After these things, a war was begun at Gezer against the Philistines, in which Sibbecai the Hushathite struck Sippai from the race of the Rephaim, and he humbled them.	4 E dopo questo fu fatta una battaglia in Gazer contro a' Filistei; nella quale uccise Sobocai Usatite Safai della generazione di Rafaim, e umiliogli.

6 Then too, another war occurred in Gath, in which there was a very tall man, having six digits, that is, all together twenty-four. This man too was born from the stock of the Rephaim.	6 E un' altra battaglia fu fatta in Get, nella quale fue uno uomo lunghissimo, il quale avea sei dita, cioè in tutto il suo corpo ventiquattro; il quale era della generazione di Rafa.
7 He blasphemed Israel. And Jonathan, the son of Shimea, the brother of David, struck him down. These were the sons of the Rephaim in Gath, who fell by the hand of David and his servants.	7 Questo biastemò Israel; e ucciselo Ionatan figliuolo di Samaa fratello di David. E questi sono i figliuoli di Rafa in Get, i quali caddero sotto le mani di David e de' servi suoi.
