1 And so they took the ark of God, and they set it in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And they offered holocausts and peace offerings before God.	1 Introdussero dunque l’arca di Dio e la collocarono al centro della tenda che Davide aveva piantato per essa; offrirono olocausti e sacrifici di comunione davanti a Dio.
2 And when David had completed offering holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.	2 Quando ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e i sacrifici di comunione, Davide benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore.
3 And he divided to every single one, from men even to women, a twist of bread, and a piece of roasted beef, and fine wheat flour fried with oil.	3 Distribuì a tutti gli Israeliti, uomini e donne, una pagnotta di pane, una porzione di carne arrostita e una schiacciata di uva passa.
4 And he appointed some from the Levites who would minister before the ark of the Lord, and commemorate his works, and glorify and praise the Lord, the God of Israel.	4 Egli stabilì che alcuni leviti stessero davanti all’arca del Signore come ministri, per celebrare, ringraziare e lodare il Signore, Dio d’Israele.
5 Asaph was the leader, and second to him was Zechariah. In addition, there were Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom. And Jeiel was over the instruments of the psaltery and the harps. But Asaph sounded out with the cymbals.	5 Erano Asaf il capo, Zaccaria il suo secondo, Ieièl, Semiramòt, Iechièl, Mattitia, Eliàb, Benaià, Obed-Edom e Ieièl, che suonavano strumenti musicali, arpe e cetre; Asaf suonava i cimbali.
6 Truly, the priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, were to sound the trumpet continually before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.	6 I sacerdoti Benaià e Iacazièl con le trombe erano sempre davanti all’arca dell’alleanza di Dio.
7 In that day, David made Asaph the leader, in order to confess to the Lord with his brothers:	7 Proprio in quel giorno Davide per la prima volta affidò ad Asaf e ai suoi fratelli questa lode al Signore:
8 “Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Make known his endeavors among the peoples.	8 «Rendete grazie al Signore e invocate il suo nome, proclamate fra i popoli le sue opere.
9 Sing to him, and sing psalms to him, and describe all his miracles.	9 A lui cantate, a lui inneggiate, meditate tutte le sue meraviglie.
10 Praise his holy name! Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice!	10 Gloriatevi del suo santo nome: gioisca il cuore di chi cerca il Signore.
11 Seek the Lord and his virtue. Seek his face always.	11 Cercate il Signore e la sua potenza, ricercate sempre il suo volto.
12 Remember his miracles, which he has accomplished, his signs, and the judgments of his mouth.	12 Ricordate le meraviglie che ha compiuto, i suoi prodigi e i giudizi della sua bocca,
13 O offspring of Israel, his servants! O sons of Jacob, his elect!	13 voi, stirpe d’Israele, suo servo, figli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti.
14 He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout all the earth.	14 È lui il Signore, nostro Dio: su tutta la terra i suoi giudizi.
15 Remember forever his covenant, the word that he instructed unto a thousand generations,	15 Ricordate sempre la sua alleanza, parola data per mille generazioni,
16 the covenant that he formed with Abraham, and his oath with Isaac.	16 l’alleanza stabilita con Abramo e il suo giuramento a Isacco.
17 And he appointed the same to Jacob as a precept, and to Israel as an everlasting pact,	17 L’ha stabilita per Giacobbe come decreto, per Israele come alleanza eterna,
18 saying: ‘To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.’	18 quando disse: “Ti darò il paese di Canaan come parte della vostra eredità”.
19 At that time, they were small in number, they were few and were settlers there.	19 Quando erano in piccolo numero, pochi e stranieri in quel luogo,
20 And they passed through, from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.	20 e se ne andavano di nazione in nazione e da un regno a un altro popolo,

24 Describe his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all the peoples.	24 In mezzo alle genti narrate la sua gloria, a tutti i popoli dite le sue meraviglie.
25 For the Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And he is terrible, above all gods.	25 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lode, terribile sopra tutti gli dèi.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols. But the Lord made the heavens.	26 Tutti gli dèi dei popoli sono un nulla, il Signore invece ha fatto i cieli.
27 Confession and magnificence are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.	27 Maestà e onore sono davanti a lui, forza e gioia nella sua dimora.
28 Bring to the Lord, O families of the peoples, bring to the Lord glory and dominion.	28 Date al Signore, o famiglie dei popoli, date al Signore gloria e potenza,
29 Give glory to the Lord, to his name. Lift up sacrifice, and approach before his sight. And adore the Lord in holy attire.	29 date al Signore la gloria del suo nome. Portate offerte ed entrate al suo cospetto, prostratevi al Signore nel suo atrio santo.
30 Let all the earth be moved before his face. For he founded the globe immoveable.	30 Tremi davanti a lui tutta la terra. È stabile il mondo, non potrà vacillare!
31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult. And let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord has reigned.’	31 Gioiscano i cieli, esulti la terra, e dicano tra le genti: “Il Signore regna!”.
32 Let the sea roar, with all its plenitude. Let the fields exult, with all that is in them.	32 Risuoni il mare e quanto racchiude, sia in festa la campagna e quanto contiene.
33 Then the trees of the forest will give praise before the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth.	33 Acclamino gli alberi della foresta davanti al Signore che viene a giudicare la terra.
34 Confess to the Lord, for he is good. For his mercy is eternal.	34 Rendete grazie al Signore perché è buono, perché il suo amore è per sempre.
35 And say: ‘Save us, O God our savior! And gather us together, and rescue us from the nations, so that we may confess to your holy name, and may exult in your songs.	35 Dite: “Salvaci, Dio della nostra salvezza, radunaci e liberaci dalle genti, perché ringraziamo il tuo nome santo: lodarti sarà la nostra gloria.
36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen,’ and let them sing a hymn to the Lord.”	36 Benedetto il Signore, Dio d’Israele, da sempre e per sempre”». Tutto il popolo disse: «Amen, lode al Signore».
37 And so, there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, he left Asaph and his brothers, so that they might minister in the sight of the ark continually, throughout each day, and in their turns.	37 Quindi Davide lasciò Asaf e i suoi fratelli davanti all’arca dell’alleanza del Signore, perché officiassero continuamente davanti all’arca, secondo il rituale quotidiano;

42 Also Heman and Jeduthun sounded the trumpet, and they played upon the cymbals, and upon every kind of musical instrument, in order to sing praises to God. But the sons of Jeduthun he made to be porters.	42 Con loro avevano trombe e cimbali per suonare e altri strumenti per il canto divino. I figli di Iedutùn erano incaricati della porta.
43 And all the people returned to their houses, and David also, so that he might bless his own house too.	43 Poi tutto il popolo se ne andò, ciascuno a casa sua, e Davide tornò per benedire la sua famiglia.
