Psalmi 66

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Magistro chori. Canticum. Psalmus. Iubilate Deo, omnis terra,	1 [For the choirmaster Song Psalm] Acclaim God, al the earth,
2 psalmum dicite gloriae nominis eius, glorificate laudem eius.	2 sing psalms to the glory of his name, glorify him with your praises,
3 Dicite Deo: “ Quam terribilia sunt opera tua. Prae multitudine virtutis tuae blandientur tibi inimici tui.	3 say to God, 'How awesome you are! 'Your achievements are the measure of your power, yourenemies woo your favour,
4 Omnis terra adoret te et psallat tibi, psalmum dicat nomini tuo ”.	4 al the earth bows down before you, sings psalms to you, sings psalms to your name.'Pause
5 Venite et videte opera Dei, terribilis in adinventionibus super filios hominum.	5 Come and see the marvels of God, his awesome deeds for the children of Adam:
6 Convertit mare in aridam, et in flumine pertransibunt pede; ibi laetabimur in ipso.	6 he changed the sea into dry land, they crossed the river on foot. So let us rejoice in him,
7 Qui dominatur in virtute sua in aeternum, oculi eius super gentes respiciunt; rebelles non exaltentur in semetipsis.	7 who rules for ever by his power; his eyes keep watch on the nations to forestal rebel ion againsthim.Pause
8 Benedicite, gentes, Deum nostrum et auditam facite vocem laudis eius;	8 Nations, bless our God, let the sound of his praise be heard;
9 qui posuit animam nostram ad vitam et non dedit in commotionem pedes nostros.	9 he brings us to life and keeps our feet from stumbling.
10 Quoniam probasti nos, Deus; igne nos examinasti, sicut examinatur argentum.	10 God, you have put us to the test, refined us like silver,
11 Induxisti nos in laqueum, posuisti tribulationes in dorso nostro.	11 let us fal into the net; you have put a heavy strain on our backs,
12 Imposuisti homines super capita nostra, transivimus per ignem et aquam, et eduxisti nos in refrigerium.	12 let men ride over our heads; but now the ordeal by fire and water is over, you have led us out tobreathe again.
13 Introibo in domum tuam in holocaustis; reddam tibi vota mea,	13 I bring burnt offerings to your house, I fulfil to you my vows,
14 quae protulerunt labia mea, et locutum est os meum in tribulatione mea.	14 the vows that rose to my lips, that I pronounced when I was in trouble.
15 Holocausta medullata offeram tibi cum incenso arietum, offeram tibi boves cum hircis.	15 I wil offer you rich burnt offerings, with the smoke of burning rams. I wil sacrifice to you bul ocks andgoats.Pause
16 Venite, audite, et narrabo, omnes, qui timetis Deum, quanta fecit animae meae.	16 Come and listen, all who fear God, while I tel what he has done for me.
17 Ad ipsum ore meo clamavi et exaltavi in lingua mea.	17 To him I cried aloud, high praise was on my tongue.
18 Iniquitatem si aspexi in corde meo, non exaudiet Dominus.	18 Had I been aware of guilt in my heart, the Lord would not have listened,
19 Propterea exaudivit Deus, attendit voci deprecationis meae.	19 but in fact God did listen, attentive to the sound of my prayer.
20 Benedictus Deus, qui non amovit orationem meam et misericordiam suam a me.	20 Blessed be God who has not turned away my prayer, nor his own faithful love from me.
