1 It is for you, then, to preach the behaviour which goes with healthy doctrine.	1 Ma tu parla quelle cose che si convengono alla sana dottrina.
2 Older men should be reserved, dignified, moderate, sound in faith and love and perseverance.	2 Li vecchi ammaestra, che siano temperati, casti, sani, e puri e fermi nella fede e in amore e in pazienza.
3 Similarly, older women should behave as befits religious people, with no scandal-mongering and noaddiction to wine -- they must be the teachers of right behaviour	3 Simigliantemente le vecchie stieno con l'abito santo, e non siano criminatrici, nè bevitrici di molto vino; anzi ammaestrino (l' altre) in bene.
4 and show younger women how they should love their husbands and love their children,	4 Le più giovani femine ammaestra, che amino i loro mariti e li loro figliuoli,
5 how they must be sensible and chaste, and how to work in their homes, and be gentle, and obey theirhusbands, so that the message of God is not disgraced.	5 e che sieno savie, caste e temperate, abiendo cura (e sollecitudine) delle magione loro, e che sieno benigne, e ai loro mariti soggette, acciò che non sia biastemata la parola di Dio.
6 Similarly, urge younger men to be moderate in everything that they do,	6 Simigliantemente conforta li giovani, che siano temperati.
7 and you yourself set an example of good works, by sincerity and earnestness, when you are teaching,and by a message sound and irreproachable	7 In tutte le cose dà buon esempio di te, in dottrina, in perseveranza e in gravità.
8 so that any opponent will be at a loss, with no accusation to make against us.	8 La tua parola sia sana (e pura), sì che non si possa riprendere, e che l'avversario si vergogni, non abiendo alcuna cosa perchè possa dire male di noi.
9 Slaves must be obedient to their masters in everything, and do what is wanted without argument;	9 Li servi ammaestra, che sieno soggetti a' loro signori, e che sieno piacevoli in tutte le cose, non contradicendo,
10 and there must be no pilfering -- they must show complete honesty at al times, so that they are in everyway a credit to the teaching of God our Saviour.	10 non fraudando, anzi in tutte le cose dimostrando la buona fede, acciò che in tutte le cose ornino la dottrina del nostro Salvatore Dio.
11 You see, God's grace has been revealed to save the whole human race;	11 Chè la grazia del nostro Signore Dio sì è apparita a tutte genti.
12 it has taught us that we should give up everything contrary to true religion and all our worldly passions;we must be self-restrained and live upright and religious lives in this present world,	12 La qual ammaestra noi, che noi iscacciamo la empietà e li desiderii temporali, e viviamo temperatamente e santamente in questo secolo,
13 waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God andSaviour Christ Jesus.	13 aspettando la beata speranza, e l'avvenimento della gloria del grande Dio, e del Salvatore nostro Iesù Cristo.
14 He offered himself for us in order to ransom us from al our faults and to purify a people to be his veryown and eager to do good.	14 Il quale diede sè medesimo, per ricomperare noi d'ogni iniquità, e apparecchiarsi a sè uno popolo piacevole e seguitatore in buone opere.
15 This is what you must say, encouraging or arguing with ful authority; no one should despise you.	15 Queste cose ammaestra e conforta, e riprendi con ogni signoria (e securità). Nullo t'abbia a dispetto.
