1 Corinthians 10

1 I want you to be quite certain, brothers, that our ancestors al had the cloud over them and al passedthrough the sea.	1 Nie chciałbym, bracia, żebyście nie wiedzieli, że nasi ojcowie wszyscy, co prawda, zostawali pod obłokiem, wszyscy przeszli przez morze,
2 In the cloud and in the sea they were all baptised into Moses;	2 i wszyscy byli ochrzczeni w [imię] Mojżesza, w obłoku i w morzu;
3 al ate the same spiritual food	3 wszyscy też spożywali ten sam pokarm duchowy
4 and al drank the same spiritual drink, since they drank from the spiritual rock which fol owed them,and that rock was Christ.	4 i pili ten sam duchowy napój. Pili zaś z towarzyszącej im duchowej skały, a ta skała - to był Chrystus.
5 In spite of this, God was not pleased with most of them, and their corpses were scattered over thedesert.	5 Lecz w większości z nich nie upodobał sobie Bóg; polegli bowiem na pustyni.
6 Now these happenings were examples, for our benefit, so that we should never set our hearts, as theydid, on evil things;	6 Stało się zaś to wszystko, by mogło posłużyć za przykład dla nas, abyśmy nie pożądali złego, tak jak oni pożądali.
7 nor are you to worship false gods, as some of them did, as it says in scripture: The people sat down toeat and drink, and afterwards got up to amuse themselves.	7 Nie bądźcie też bałwochwalcami jak niektórzy z nich, według tego, co jest napisane: Zasiadł lud, by jeść i pić, i powstali, by się oddawać rozkoszom.
8 Nor, again, are we to fall into sexual immorality; some of them did this, and twenty-three thousand mettheir downfal in one day.	8 Nie oddawajmy się też rozpuście, jak to czynili niektórzy spośród nich, i padło ich jednego dnia dwadzieścia trzy tysiące.
9 And we are not to put the Lord to the test; some of them put him to the test, and they were killed bysnakes.	9 I nie wystawiajmy Pana na próbę, jak wystawiali Go niektórzy z nich i poginęli od wężów.
10 Never complain; some of them complained, and they were killed by the Destroyer.	10 Nie szemrajcie, jak niektórzy z nich szemrali i zostali wytraceni przez dokonującego zagłady.
11 Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were described in writing to bea lesson for us, to whom it has fallen to live in the last days of the ages.	11 A wszystko to przydarzyło się im jako zapowiedź rzeczy przyszłych, spisane zaś zostało ku pouczeniu nas, których dosięga kres czasów.
12 Everyone, no matter how firmly he thinks he is standing, must be careful he does not fall.	12 Niech przeto ten, komu się zdaje, że stoi, baczy, aby nie upadł.
13 None of the trials which have come upon you is more than a human being can stand. You can trustthat God wil not let you be put to the test beyond your strength, but with any trial will also provide a way out byenabling you to put up with it.	13 Pokusa nie nawiedziła was większa od tej, która zwykła nawiedzać ludzi. Wierny jest Bóg i nie dozwoli was kusić ponad to, co potraficie znieść, lecz zsyłając pokusę, równocześnie wskaże sposób jej pokonania, abyście mogli przetrwać.
14 For that reason, my dear friends, have nothing to do with the worship of false gods.	14 Dlatego też, najmilsi moi, strzeżcie się bałwochwalstwa!
15 I am talking to you as sensible people; weigh up for yourselves what I have to say.	15 Mówię jak do ludzi rozsądnych. Zresztą osądźcie sami to, co mówię:
16 The blessing-cup, which we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ; and the loaf of bread which we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?	16 Kielich błogosławieństwa, który błogosławimy, czy nie jest udziałem we Krwi Chrystusa? Chleb, który łamiemy, czyż nie jest udziałem w Ciele Chrystusa?
17 And as there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all sharein the one loaf.	17 Ponieważ jeden jest chleb, przeto my, liczni, tworzymy jedno Ciało. Wszyscy bowiem bierzemy z tego samego chleba.
18 Now compare the natural people of Israel: is it not true that those who eat the sacrifices share thealtar?	18 Przypatrzcie się Izraelowi według ciała! Czyż nie są w jedności z ołtarzem ci, którzy spożywają z ofiar na ołtarzu złożonych?
19 What does this mean? That the dedication of food to false gods amounts to anything? Or that falsegods themselves amount to anything?	19 Lecz po cóż to mówię? Czy może jest czymś ofiara złożona bożkom? Albo czy sam bożek jest czymś?
20 No, it does not; simply that when pagans sacrifice, what is sacrificed by them is sacrificed to demonswho are not God. I do not want you to share with demons.	20 Ależ właśnie to, co ofiarują poganie, demonom składają w ofierze, a nie Bogu. Nie chciałbym, byście mieli coś wspólnego z demonami.
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons as wel ; you cannot have a share at theLord's table and the demons' table as wel .	21 Nie możecie pić z kielicha Pana i z kielicha demonów; nie możecie zasiadać przy stole Pana i przy stole demonów.
22 Do we real y want to arouse the Lord's jealousy; are we stronger than he is?	22 Czyż będziemy pobudzali Pana do zazdrości? Czyż jesteśmy mocniejsi od Niego?
23 'Everything is permissible'; maybe so, but not everything does good. True, everything is permissible,but not everything builds people up.	23 Wszystko wolno, ale nie wszystko przynosi korzyść. Wszystko wolno, ale nie wszystko buduje.
24 Nobody should be looking for selfish advantage, but everybody for someone else's.	24 Niech nikt nie szuka własnego dobra, lecz dobra bliźniego!
25 Eat anything that is sold in butchers' shops; there is no need to ask questions for conscience's sake,	25 Tak więc wszystko, cokolwiek w jatce sprzedają, spożywajcie, niczego nie dociekając - dla spokoju sumienia.
26 since To the Lord belong the earth and all it contains.	26 Pańska bowiem jest ziemia i wszystko, co ją napełnia.
27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal, go if you want to, and eat whatever is put before you; you neednot ask questions of conscience first.	27 Jeżeli zaprosi was ktoś z niewierzących a wy zgodzicie się przyjść, jedzcie wszystko, co wam podadzą, nie pytając o nic - dla spokoju sumienia.
28 But if someone says to you, 'This food has been offered in sacrifice,' do not eat it, out ofconsideration for the person that told you, for conscience's sake-	28 A gdyby ktoś powiedział: To było złożone na ofiarę - nie jedzcie przez wzgląd na tego, który was ostrzegł, i z uwagi na sumienie.
29 not your own conscience, I mean, but the other person's. Why should my freedom be governed bysomebody else's conscience?	29 Mam na myśli sumienie nie twoje, lecz bliźniego. Bo dlaczego by czyjeś sumienie miało wyrokować o mojej wolności?
30 Provided that I accept it with gratitude, why should I be blamed for eating food for which I givethanks?	30 Jeśli ja coś spożywam dzięki czyniąc, to czemu mam być spotwarzany z powodu tego, za co dzięki czynię?
31 Whatever you eat, then, or drink, and whatever else you do, do it al for the glory of God.	31 Przeto czy jecie, czy pijecie, czy cokolwiek innego czynicie, wszystko na chwałę Bożą czyńcie
32 Never be a cause of offence, either to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God,	32 Nie bądźcie zgorszeniem ani dla Żydów, ani dla Greków, ani dla Kościoła Bożego,
33 just as I try to accommodate everybody in everything, not looking for my own advantage, but for theadvantage of everybody else, so that they may be saved.	33 podobnie jak ja, który się staram przypodobać wszystkim pod każdym względem nie szukając własnej korzyści, lecz dobra wielu, aby byli zbawieni.
