Habakkuk 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk; tone as for dirges.	1 Signore, io ho udito quello che tu m' hai detto e hai voluto ch' io oda, e ho temuto. Signore, vivifica l'opera tua nel mezzo delli anni.
2 Yahweh, I have heard of your renown; your work, Yahweh, inspires me with dread. Make it live again inour time, make it known in our time; in wrath remember mercy.	2 Tu la farai la manifesta nel mezzo degli anni; e quando tu sarai adirato, ti raccorderai della misericordia.
3 Eloah comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Pause His majesty covers theheavens, and his glory fills the earth.	3 Dio verrà della parte australe, e il santo verrà dal monte Faran. La gloria sua ha coperti li cieli, e la terra è piena della laude sua.
4 His brightness is like the day, rays flash from his hands, that is where his power lies hidden.	4 Lo splendore suo sarà come la luce; e le corna nelle sue mani. Quivi è nascosa la fortezza sua.
5 Pestilence goes before him and Plague follows close behind.	5 E dinanzi alla faccia sua andrà la morte. Il diavolo uscirà dinanzi a' suoi piedi.
6 When he stands up, he makes the earth tremble, with his glance he makes the nations quake. And theeternal mountains are dislodged, the everlasting hil s sink down, his pathway from of old.	6 E stette, e misurò la terra. Ragguardò, e disfece le genti; e furono disfatti i monti del secolo. I monticelli del mondo sono inchinati dalla via della sua eternitade.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in trouble, the tent-curtains of Midian shuddering.	7 Per la iniquità io vidi li padiglioni di Etiopia; e turberannosi le pelli della terra di Madian.
8 Yahweh, are you enraged with the rivers, are you angry with the sea, that you should mount yourchargers, your rescuing chariots?	8 Or se' ti tu adirato ne' fiumi, Signore? ovvero è ne' fiumi il furore tuo? ovvero nel mare la indignazione tua? Il quale salirai sopra li cavalli tuoi; e salvera'ti nelle carra tue.
9 You uncover your bow, and give the string its fill of arrows. PauseYou drench the soil with torrents;	9 Tu risusciterai e rizzerai su l'arco tuo, per osservare alle tribù i giuramenti i quali tu hai parlati (e fatti). Tu dividerai i fiumi delle terre.
10 the mountains see you and tremble, great floods sweep by, the abyss roars aloud, lifting high itswaves.	10 Ti vidono, e li monti si dolsono; il pelago profondo dell' acque sì passò via. L'abisso diede la voce sua, e la profondità levò le sue mani.
11 Sun and moon stay inside their dwel ings, they flee at the light of your arrows, at the flash of yourlightning-spear.	11 Il sole e la luna stettono nel tabernacolo loro; loro andaranno nella luce delle saette tue, e nello splendore dell' asta tua splendente e percotente.
12 In rage you stride across the land, in anger you trample the nations.	12 Nello strepito (tuo) tu conculcherai la terra; e nel furore (tuo) spaventerai le genti.
13 You marched to save your people, to save your anointed one; you wounded the head of the house ofthe wicked, laid bare the foundation to the rock. Pause	13 Tu se' venuto per la salute del popolo tuo, a salvarci con Cristo tuo. Tu hai percosso il capo della casa dello empio; e dinudasti il fondamento suo insino al collo.
14 With your shafts you pierced the leader of his warriors who stormed out with shouts of joy to scatterus, as if they meant to devour some poor wretch in their lair.	14 Tu maledicesti le signorie sue, il capo dei suoi combattitori, i quali venivano come forti venti a dispergermi. L'allegrezza loro è come l'allegrezza di colui che divora il povero di nascoso.
15 With your horses you trampled through the sea, through the surging abyss!	15 Tu hai fatto la via nel mare a' cavalli tuoi, nello loto delle molte acque.
16 When I heard, I trembled to the core, my lips quivered at the sound; my bones became disjointed andmy legs gave way beneath me. Calmly I await the day of anguish which is dawning on the people now attackingus.	16 Io l'udi', e conturbossi il ventre mio; e dalla voce tremarono le labbra mie. Entri la puzza nell' ossa mie, ed escami di sotto con impeto, acciò ch' io mi riposi nel dì della tribulazione, acciò ch' io salisca al popolo nostro apparecchiato ad andare.
17 (For the fig tree is not to blossom, nor wil the vines bear fruit, the olive crop wil disappoint and thefields wil yield no food; the sheep wil vanish from the fold; no cattle in the stal s.)	17 Però che il fico non fiorirà, e non sarà germoglio nelle vigne. L'opera dell' ulivo mentirà, e li campi non daranno cibo. Sarà tolta la pecora dello ovile, e non sarà armento ne' presepi.
18 But I shal rejoice in Yahweh, I shall exult in God my Saviour.	18 Ma io mi goderò nel Signore, e rallegrerommi in Iesù mio Idio.
19 Yahweh my Lord is my strength, he wil make my feet as light as a doe's, and set my steps on theheights. For the choirmaster; on stringed instruments.	19 Lo Signore Iddio è la mia fortezza; ed egli porrà i miei piedi, come li piedi de' cervi. E sopra i luoghi miei alti esso vittorioso mi menerà cantando salmi.
