Ezekiel 22

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 E disse Iddio a me:
2 'Son of man, are you ready to judge? Are you ready to judge the blood-stained city? Confront her withal her loathsome practices!	2 O figliuolo d' uomo, non giudichi [tu, non giudichi] la città del sangue?
3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: City shedding blood inside yourself to hasten your doom, makingfoul idols on your soil to defile yourself,	3 E dimostrerai loro tutte le loro abominazioni, e dirai loro: questo dice lo Signore Iddio: questa è la città spargente il sangue nel mezzo di sè, acciò che vegna il suo tempo, e questa è quella che fece li idoli contro a sè medesima, acciò che si corrompesse.
4 you have incurred guilt by the blood you have shed, you have defiled yourself with the foul idols youhave made, you have shortened your days, you have come to the end of your years. This is why I have madeyou an object of scorn to the nations and a laughing-stock to every country.	4 Tu venisti meno nel tuo sangue, il quale è sparto da te; e se' corrotta ne' tuoi idoli, i quali tu facesti; e facesti appressare li giorni tuoi, e menasti lo tempo de' tuoi anni; però io ti diedi in vituperio alle genti, e in derisione a tutte le città,
5 From far and near they will taunt you with your infamous disorders.	5 le quali ti sono a lato, e che ti sono dalla lunga; faranno trionfo di te, brutta; nobile fosti, e grande uccisione ora è in te.
6 "Look! In you the princes of Israel, one and all, have furthered their own interests at the cost ofbloodshed;	6 Ecco li principi d' Israel, ciascuno in lo braccio suo, furono in te a spargere lo sangue.
7 in you people have despised their fathers and mothers; in you they have il -treated the settler; in youthey have oppressed the widow and orphan.	7 E afflissono lo padre e la madre in te con vergogna, e feciono calunnia al forestiere in mezzo di te, e contristarono lo pupillo e la vedova appo di te.
8 You have treated my sanctuary with contempt, you have profaned my Sabbaths.	8 E dispregiasti li miei santuarii, e corrompesti li miei sabbati.
9 In you informers incite to bloodshed; in you people eat on the mountains and act licentiously;	9 Uomini biastemiatori furono in te a spargere lo sangue, e mangiarono sopra li monti in te, e hanno adoperato fellonia nel mezzo di te.
10 in you they have sexual intercourse with their fathers; in you they force themselves on women in theirperiods;	10 E scopersono in te le più vergognose cose del padre, e umiliarono la immondizia della femina in te.
11 in you one man engages in loathsome practices with his neighbour's wife, another lewdly defiles hisdaughter-in-law, another violates his sister, his own father's daughter.	11 Ciascuno hae adoperato abominazione nella moglie del prossimo suo, e lo suocero corrompeo la sua nuora sozzamente, e lo fratello la sua sorella, figliuola del suo padre; ciascuno n' ebbe a fare.
12 In you people take bribes for shedding blood; you lend for profit and charge interest, you profit fromyour fel ow by extortion and have forgotten about me -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	12 E riceverono doni appresso di te per ispargere lo sangue; tu togliesti usura e lo sopra più, e calunniavi li tuoi prossimi amaramente, e hai dimenticato me, dice Iddio.
13 "Now I shal clap my hands at your acts of banditry and the blood that flows in you.	13 Ecco io compuosi le mie mani sopra la tua avarizia, la quale tu facesti, e sopra lo sangue che è sparto nel mezzo di te.
14 Wil your heart be able to resist, will your hands be steady, the day when I cal you to account? I,Yahweh, have spoken and shall act.	14 E soffrirà lo tuo cuore, o vero che potranno più le tue mani, nei dì ch' io farò a te? E io Signore ho parlato, e farollo.
15 I shal scatter you among the nations and disperse you in foreign countries, and so put an end to thefilthiness now inside you;	15 E farotti dispersa per le nazioni, ventolerotti per le terre, e farò venire meno la tua immondizia da te.
16 through your own fault, you wil be profaned in the eyes of the nations, and you wil know that I amYahweh!" '	16 E possederotti nel conspetto delle genti; e saprai ch' io sono lo Signore.
17 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	17 E disse Iddio a me:
18 'Son of man, for me, the House of Israel has become dross: copper, tin, iron, lead, al mixed uptogether in the melting-pot; they are dross.	18 Figliuolo d' uomo, la casa d' Israel è rivolta a me in iscoria, (cioè in bruttura); tutti questi metalli e stagno e ferro e piombo, fatti brutture d'ariento nel mezzo della fornace.
19 And so, Lord Yahweh says this, "Since you have al become dross, right! I shall collect you insideJerusalem.	19 Però questo dice lo Signore: per che siete. rivolti in sozzura, però io vi radunerò nel mezzo di Ierusalem,
20 As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are col ected in the melting-pot, and the fire is blown underneathto melt them down, so I shal collect you in my furious anger and have you melted down;	20 con radunamento d' argento e di metallo e di ferro e di stagno e di piombo nel mezzo della fornace, acciò ch' io accenda in lei fuoco a colare; così congregherò nella mia ira e nel mio furore, e riposerommi, e colerovvi.
21 I shal collect you and blow up the fire of my rage for you and have you melted down inside the city.	21 E congregherovvi, e arderovvi nel fuoco del mio furore, e sarete colati nel mezzo di lei.
22 As silver is melted in the melting-pot, so you will be melted down inside the city, and you wil knowthat I, Yahweh, have vented my fury on you." '	22 Così come si cola l'ariento nel mezzo della fornace, così sarete voi nel mezzo di quello fuoco; e saprete ch' io Signore ho isparto la indegnazione mia sopra voi.
23 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	23 E disse Iddio a me:
24 'Son of man, say to her, "You are a land that has not received rain or shower on the day of anger.	24 O figliuolo d'uomo, die a lei: tu se' terra immonda, e non immollata nel dì del furore.
25 In you, the princes are like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They have eaten the people, seized wealthand jewels and widowed many inside her.	25 La scongiurazione de' profeti nel mezzo di lei, e come lo leone ruggente e pigliante la preda divorò l' anime (povere); e tolsono le ricchezze e lo prezzo, e moltiplicarono le vedove sue nel mezzo di lei.
26 Her priests have violated my law and desecrated my sanctuary; they have made no distinctionbetween sacred and profane, they have not taught people the difference between clean and unclean; they haveturned their eyes away from my Sabbaths and I have been dishonoured by them.	26 Li sacerdoti dispregiarono la mia legge, e corromperono li miei santuarii; tra li santi e li sacrileghi non feciono differenza; tra lo immondo e lo incorrotto non intesono; e da' miei sabbati rivolsono li occhi loro, e io era contaminato nel mezzo di loro.
27 In her the leaders are wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood and killing people to steal theirpossessions.	27 Li principi suoi nel mezzo di lei erano come lupi piglianti la preda, a spargere lo sangue e a uccidere le anime e a seguitare li guadagni avaramente, (cioè cupiditade).
28 Her prophets have plastered these things over with their empty visions and lying prophecies, saying:Yahweh says this, although Yahweh has not spoken.	28 Ma li suoi profeti li intonacavano sanza temperamento, veggendo cose vane, e indovinanti bugie, dicendo: questo dice lo Signore Iddio, conciosia cosa che lo Signore Iddio non abbia parlato.
29 The people of the country have taken to extortion and banditry; they have oppressed the poor andneedy and il -treated the settler in a way that is unjustifiable.	29 Li popoli della terra calunniavano e toglievano rapina; e affligevano lo bisognoso e lo povero, e lo forestiero costrignevano [di calunnia] sanza giudicio.
30 I have been looking for someone among them to build a barricade and oppose me in the breach, todefend the country and prevent me from destroying it; but I have found no one.	30 Addomandai di loro uno uomo che ponesse in mezzo le siepi, e stesse in opposito contro a me per la terra, acciò non la dissipassi; e nol poteo trovare.
31 Hence I have vented my fury on them; I have put an end to them in the fire of my rage. I have madetheir conduct recoil on their own heads -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	31 E versai sopra loro la mia indegnazione, e consuma'li nel fuoco della mia ira; e rendeo la loro via nel capo di loro, dice lo Signore Iddio.
