Isaiah 50

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Thus says Yahweh: Where is your mother's writ of divorce by which I repudiated her? Or to which ofmy creditors have I sold you? Look, you have been sold for your own misdeeds, your mother was repudiated foryour acts of rebel ion.	1 Questo dice lo Signore Iddio: quale è questo libro di rifiuto della vostra madre, dove io lasciai lei? e quale è lo mio creditore, a cui io vendei voi? (però che ecco io vi mostrerò che) voi siete venduti nelle vostre malvagitadi, e per le vostre follie io abbandonai (e lasciai) la vostra madre.
2 Why was there no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I cal ed? Is my hand too shortto redeem? Have I not strength to save? Look, with a threat I can dry the sea, and turn rivers to desert; the fishin them go rotten for want of water and die of thirst.	2 Però ch' io venni, e non ci era uomo; (lo) chiamai, e non fu chi mi udisse. Or è abbreviata e fatta piccola la mia mano, sì ch' io non possa ricomperare? o non è in me virtude, ch' io possa liberare? Ecco, io farò deserto il mare colla mia riprensione, e farò li fiumi secchi; e li pesci infracideranno, però che saranno sanza acqua, e morranno per la sete.
3 I dress the heavens in black, I cover them in sackcloth.	3 Vestirò li cieli di tenebre, e per loro coprimento porrò uno sacco.
4 Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple's tongue, for me to know how to give a word of comfort to theweary. Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.	4 Lo Signore diede a me la lingua dirizzata, per che io sappia sostenere colui il quale è discorso con la parola, (cioè a mal fare); è levato suso la mattina, e dirizza la mattina a me l'orecchie, acciò ch' io l'oda come maestro (cioè lievato la mattina, s' intende per lo primo tempo, chè dobbiamo apparare nella giovinezza).
5 Lord Yahweh has opened my ear and I have not resisted, I have not turned away.	5 Lo Signore Iddio aperse a me le orecchie, e io non li contradico; e non andai a ritroso.
6 I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have notturned my face away from insult and spitting.	6 E diedi lo mio corpo a quelli che mi percotevano, e a quelli che con le mani percotevano le mie gote (cioè che mi davano le grandi guanciate); e non rivolsi (me, nè fuggì) la mia faccia dalle riprensioni, e da quelli che mi sputavano nel volto.
7 Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my facelike flint and know that I shal not be put to shame.	7 Ma lo Signore è mio aiutatore, e però io non potrei ricevere confusione; e però io puosi la mia faccia come pietra durissima, e so ch' io non sarò confuso.
8 He who grants me saving justice is near! Who wil bring a case against me? Let us appear in courttogether! Who has a case against me? Let him approach me!	8 Egli è appo me quello che mi fa giusto; e chi sarà che mi contradica? Stiamo insieme; e chi sarà lo mio avversario? vèngasene a me.
9 Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help! Who dares condemn me? Look at them, al fal ing apart likemoth-eaten clothes!	9 Ecco che Iddio è il mio aiutatore; adunque chi è colui il quale dispregerà me? (Certo) ecco che così si romperanno quasi come fusse uno vestimento, e la tignuola li si mangerà.
10 Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness andsees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!	10 Quale è di voi che tema Iddio, e che oda la voce del suo servo? chi è colui il quale andò nelle tenebre, e non vidde lume? abbia speranza nel nome di Dio, e sforzisi a Dio.
11 Look, al you who light a fire and arm yourselves with firebrands, walk by the light of your fire and thefirebrands you have kindled! This is what you will get from me: you wil lie down in torment!	11 Ecco, tutti voi che accendete (voi medesimi) lo fuoco, e siete cinti di fiamme, andate nel lume del vostro fuoco, e nelle fiamme le quali voi accendeste; della mano mia fatto è a voi questo; dormirete ne' (vostri) dolori.
