NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Bildad of Shuah spoke next. He said:	1 Bildad de Chua tomou a palavra e disse:
2 How much longer are you going to talk like this and go blustering on in this way?	2 Até quando dirás semelhantes coisas, e tuas palavras serão como um furacão?
3 Can God deflect the course of right or Shaddai falsify justice?	3 Porventura Deus fará curvar o que é reto, e o Todo-poderoso subverterá a justiça?
4 If your sons sinned against him, he has punished them for their wrong-doing.	4 Se teus filhos o ofenderam, ele os entregou às conseqüências de suas culpas.
5 You for your part, if you are pure and honest, must now seek God, plead with Shaddai.	5 Se recorreres a Deus, e implorares ao Todo-poderoso,
6 Forthwith his light wil shine on you and he wil restore an upright man's house to prosperity.	6 se fores puro e reto, ele atenderá a tua oração e restaurará a morada de tua justiça;
7 Your former state wil seem as nothing to you, so great wil your future be.	7 teu começo parecerá pouca coisa diante da grandeza do que se seguirá.
8 Question the generation that has passed, meditate on the experience of its ancestors-	8 Interroga as gerações passadas, e examina com cuidado a experiência dos antepassados;
9 for we children of yesterday, we know nothing, our life on earth passes like a shadow-	9 - porque somos uns ignorantes das {coisas} de ontem, nossos dias sobre a terra passam como a sombra -:
10 but they wil teach you, they will tel you, and their thought is expressed in these sayings,	10 elas podem instruir-te, falar-te e de seu coração tirar este discurso:
11 'Can papyrus flourish except in marshes? Without water can the rushes grow?	11 Pode o papiro crescer fora do brejo, o junco germinar sem água?
12 Even when green and before being cut, fastest of al plants they wither.	12 Verde ainda, sem ser cortado, ele seca antes que as outras ervas;
13 Such is the fate of al who forget God; so perishes the hope of the godless.	13 assim acabam todos os que esquecem Deus, assim perece a esperança do ímpio;
14 His hope is nothing but gossamer, his confidence a spider's web.	14 sua confiança é como filandras, sua segurança, uma teia de aranha.
15 Let him lean on his house, it wil not stand firm; cling to it, it wil not hold.	15 Ele se apóia sobre uma casa que não se sustenta, atém-se a uma morada que não se mantém de pé.
16 Like some lush plant in the sunlight, he sent his young shoots sprouting over the garden;	16 Cheio de vigor, ao sol, faz brotar suas hastes em seu jardim;
17 but his roots were twined in a heap of stones, he drew his life among the rocks.	17 suas raízes se entrelaçam sobre a pedra, apóiam-se entre rochas;
18 Snatch him from his bed, and it denies it ever saw him.	18 mas se é arrancado de seu lugar, este o renega: nunca te vi.
19 Now he rots on the roadside, and others are springing up in the soil.	19 Eis onde termina seu destino, e outros germinarão do solo.
20 Believe me, God neither spurns anyone of integrity, nor lends his aid to the evil.	20 Não; Deus não rejeita o homem íntegro, nem dá a mão aos malvados.
21 Once again laughter may fil your mouth and cries of joy break from your lips.	21 Ele porá de novo o riso em tua boca, e em teus lábios, gritos de alegria;
22 Your enemies will be covered with shame and the tent of the wicked wil vanish!'	22 teus inimigos serão cobertos de vergonha, a tenda dos maus desaparecerá.
