1 Any hope you might have would be futile, the mere sight of him would overwhelm you.	1 Non come crudele susciterò lui; chi adunque puote resistere al mio volto?
2 When roused, he grows ferocious, who could ever stand up to him?	2 E chi mi diede innanzi nulla, ch' io glie lo renda? Tutte le cose che sono sotto lo cielo, sono mie.
3 Who has ever attacked him with impunity? No one beneath al heaven!	3 Non perdoneroe a lui colle potenti parole e composte a pregare.
4 Next I wil talk of his limbs and describe his matchless strength-	4 Chi rivelerae la faccia del suo vestire? e chi entrerà nel mezzo della sua bocca?
5 who can undo the front of his tunic or pierce the double armour of his breastplate?	5 Le porte del suo volto chi aprirà? Intorno delli suoi denti è la paura.
6 Who dare open the gates of his mouth? Terror reigns round his teeth!	6 Lo suo corpo, quasi scuta fondute, è congiunto colle prementi scaglie.
7 His back is like rows of shields, sealed with a stone seal,	7 L'una all' una si congiugne, acciò che niuno spiraglio vada per quelle.
8 touching each other so close that no breath could pass between,	8 L'una all' altra s' accosteranno, e tenenti sè non si partiranno.
9 sticking to one another making an impervious whole.	9 Lo sternutamento suo splendore è di fuoco, e gli occhii suoi come palpebre dell' aurora.
10 His sneezes radiate light, his eyes are like the eyelashes of the dawn.	10 Della sua bocca procederanno le lampade, sì come le tede accese di fuoco.
11 From his mouth come fiery torches, sparks of fire fly out of it.	11 Uscirae delle nari sue fumo, sì come di pentole accese e bollenti.
12 His nostrils belch smoke like a cauldron boiling on the fire.	12 L'alito suo fa ardere li pruni, e la fiamma uscì della sua bocca.
13 His breath could kindle coals, flame issues from his mouth.	13 Nello suo collo starae la fortezza, e la povertà va innanzi alla sua faccia.
14 His strength resides in his neck, violence leaps before him as he goes.	14 Le membra delle sue carni accostantisi a lui; manda contro a lui le saette, e ad altro luogo non sono portate.
15 The strips of his flesh are jointed together, firmly set in and immovable.	15 E lo suo cuore s' indurerae come pietra; strignerassi come massa di ferro malleata.
16 His heart is as hard as rock unyielding as the lower mil stone.	16 Quando sarae tolto, temeranno gli angeli, e spaventati si purgheranno.
17 When he stands up, the waves take fright and the bil ows of the sea retreat.	17 Quando piglierae lui lo coltello, sostenere non potrae nè l'asta nè la corazza.
18 Sword may strike but will not stick in him, no more will spear, javelin or lance.	18 Riputerae come paglia lo ferro, e sì come legno puzzolente lo rame.
19 Iron means no more to him than straw, nor bronze than rotten wood.	19 E non scaccerà lui l'uomo sagittario; e tornate sono a lui in istipula le pietre della fionda.
20 No arrow can make him flee, a sling-stone tickles him like hay.	20 Quasi stipula stimerà lo maglio, e dileggerà lo movente l'asta.
21 Club seems to him like straw, he laughs at the whirring javelin.	21 Sotto lui saranno li radii del sole, e sottometterà a lui l'oro come il fango.
22 He has sharp potsherds underneath, and moves across the slime like a harrow.	22 E bollire farae, come pentola, lo profondo mare; porrà come quando li unguenti bollono.
23 He makes the depths seethe like a cauldron, he makes the sea fume like a scent burner.	23 Dopo lui lucerae la via, e stimerae l'abisso quasi come invecchiante.
24 Behind him he leaves a glittering wake -- a white fleece seems to float on the deeps.	24 Non v'è sopra la terra signoria, che s' assomigli a lui, il quale è fatto che niuno temesse.
25 He has no equal on earth, being created without fear.	25 Ogni cosa alta vede, ed elli è re sopra tutti i figliuoli della superbia.
26 He looks the haughtiest in the eye; of al the lordly beasts he is king.
