1 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied and said:	1 Rispose Baldad Suite, e disse;
2 When will you put an end to words? Reflect, and then we can have discussion.	2 Insino a che fine getterai le parole? Intendi prima, e così favelliamo.
3 Why are we accounted like the beasts, their equals in your sight?	3 Perchè siamo noi riputati come bestie, e siamo imbruttati innanzi a te?
4 You who tear yourself in your anger, shall the earth be neglected on your account (or the rock be moved out of its place)?	4 Perchè perdi l'anima tua nel tuo furore? Or sarà per te abbandonata la terra, e saranno rapportate le rupi del suo luogo?
5 Truly, the light of the wicked is extinguished; no flame brightens his hearth.	5 Or non sarae spenta la luce del malvagio, nè non risplenderà la fiamma del suo fuoco?
6 The light is darkened in his tent; in spite of him, his lamp goes out.	6 La luce diventerae tenebre nel suo tabernacolo, e la lucerna che è sopra lui sarae spenta.
7 His vigorous steps are hemmed in, and his own counsel casts him down.	7 Saranno stretti li andamenti della sua virtude, e straboccherà lui lo suo consiglio.
8 For he rushes headlong into a net, and he wanders into a pitfall.	8 Certo elli mise nella rete li suoi piedi, e anda nelle sue macchie.
9 A trap seizes him by the heel, and a snare lays hold of him.	9 Sarà tenuta la sua pianta collo legame, e arderae contro a lui la sete.
10 A noose for him is hid on the ground, and the toils for him on the way.	10 Nascoso è nella serra lo suo lacciuolo; gli artificii da ingannare sopra la via.
11 On every side terrors affright him; they harry him at each step.	11 Da ogni parte spaventeranno lui le paure, e involgeranno li suoi piedi.
12 Disaster is ready at his side,	12 Sarae assottigliata colla fame (sua) la sua fortezza; e la povertà assalisca le sue coste.
13 the first-born of death consumes his limbs.	13 Divori la bellezza della sua cotica, e la primagenita morte consumi le sue braccia.
14 Fiery destruction lodges in his tent, and marches him off to the king of terrors. He is plucked from the security of his tent;	14 Sia tolta fuori la sua speranza del suo tabernacolo; e calchi sopra lui, quasi come re, la morte.
15 over his abode brimstone is scattered.	15 Àbitino nel tabernacolo suo li compagni di colui che non è; e spargasi nell'abitazione sua lo solfore.
16 Below, his roots dry up, and above, his branches wither.	16 Di sotto le radici sue si secchino, e sopra sia attrita la sua biada.
17 His memory perishes from the land, and he has no name on the earth.	17 La memoria sua perisca della terra, e non sia guardato lo nome suo nelle piazze.
18 He is driven from light into darkness, and banished out of the world.	18 E cacci lui della luce nelle tenebre, e del mondo lo traporti.
19 He has neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any survior where once he dwelt.	19 Non sarà suo seme nè schiatta nel suo popolo, nè alcuna reliquia nelle sue regioni.
20 They who come after shall be appalled at his fate; they who went before are struck with horror.	20 Nello di suo si maraviglieranno li novissimi, e li primi lo timore (li) assalirae.
21 So is it then with the dwelling of the impious man, and such is the place of him who knows not God!	21 Queste cose sono adunque li tabernacoli dello malvagio; questo è lo luogo di colui che non conosce Iddio.
